AC Hotel La Linea by Marriott  

Great quality rooms, very spacious, good bathrooms (including toiletries), and refreshments available throughout the day. A really good city hotel. Great staff on reception, we seemed to see 3 or 4 different staff and all were excellent (we often asked for help or advice). Personally did not have breakfast as we prefer to find local cafes, but selection looked good. Parking is available at the hotel, which is away from town centre streets but if you enjoy walking it is easy to get into. Hotel is one street back from main road so quieter, and there are some fascinating views to Gib bay (and all the shipping) from some front facing rooms. Enjoyed our 2 nights so much that we returned for 2 nights to see more of area. Booked AC La Linea as we flew to Gibraltar but found hotel prices quite high in Gib itself. Hotel to Gib = approx 20 mins walk but taxi only cost 6-8 euros (depending on luggage). If flying into Gib you can walk out of airport - cross the road & border and taxi rank is just outside the gate (5 mins walk terminal to rank). La Linea is not the place for a beach holiday - but great intro to a real Spanish town – and easy to get into Gib.

Pool not in use during visit (but then weather not too encouraging anyway). 3 or 4 steps to get luggage up to the lift (but staff would help). Coffee not available after about 10:30pm – once the restaurant staff had gone. A machine was available during the day so you could self serve - shame it was not also open throughout the evening.

As others have pointed out, the hotel is very convenient for a day trip to Gibraltar. It is about a 20 minute walk from the hotel to The Rock.

Everything was clean and the man behind the desk when we checked out was lovely, but the woman named Sandra when we checked in was horrible. If you do not want to be civil, there are plenty of other people who would like your job, Sandra.

Located in an easy to find location with easy access to Gilbralter this is a great hotel at a very affordable price.

Modern hotel about 20 mins from the centre of La Linea.

The service comfort and cleanliness was excellent. Reception practical and efficient. Room excellent.

The room was very quiet at night so we got an excellent night´s sleep -unusual in Spain!

The room was described as having a "city view". In fact it overlooked a dirty swimming pool and flats with washing on the balconies. The worst view we have ever experienced. We nearly left there and then. The breakfast was not really adequate in choice for a hotel of this class, it was very basic.

Comfort & clean. Please dont ever advertise your hotel as package type accommodation. Your business only! Most guest said you only cater for business types customers! Sate this in future advertising.

You state bar facilities? Total & utter lies! No bar till 8pm till 11pm.NOT Mentioned in hotel detail.Reception staff, said no shops local or bars, told go La Linea precinct! Again we holiday customers not business customers, so felt we treated as lower class. Also why no uk papers in lounge!! All other countries?! Enough English people staying?!!!

The space in the rooms, the friendly staff and the restaurant quality & service made me decide to return to this hotel during my buisness trips to Gibraltar..

That when staying 4 days per week, you have to pay for Intenret access in the rooms. I expect that wirelss Internet access is a basic offering in business type hotels like the AC is. Paying 12 Eur for 24 hrs is too high. A reduced rate for visitors during a long stay or an Internet service which enables me to buy Internet access for a certain time period, to be used over the total period I am staying in this hotel. Not having free Internet in my room can be a reason not to return.and choose for another hotel in e.g.Algeciras.
