AC Hotel La Linea by Marriott  

Clean and comfortable rooms reception and cleaning staff very good.

The hotel was a little too far if your purpose for traveling here was to visit Gibraltar. If traveling by car it would have been ok but we were on foot so had to do a lot of walking into Gibraltar. The staff were good at there specific jobs but as soon as asked for anything unordinary ie glasses for wine in room it was a great inconvenience to them. We did not use pool area as pool was dirty and weather poor.

Modern hotel with a wonderful view of the Gibralter. Friendly helpful staff. Great location.

Localization and price. Breakfast was also very nice. Excursion to Morocco published by the hotel was very good.

Wc doesn´t have a bidet and the drain of the bathtub did not work well. Television with poor image quality and the a/c wasn´t working.

The room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. We liked the free non-alcoholic mini bar in the room which was replenished daily. Also we could help ourselves to coffee/pastry in the lounge which was also free of charge.

A swimming pool was included in the hotel details but we were very disappointed that it was not available at all during our stay. In fact the water was green and looked like it had not been used for a long time. Also the hotel was at least 15 mins walk away from the town/restaurants in La Linea. The main reason for our stay was to visit Gibraltar, which took 25 mins to walk to the border and then another 15 mins to the centre of town. Although the walk along the sea promenade was enjoyable. Public transport was limited but taxis were available to the border.

The space in the rooms, the friendly staff and the restaurant quality & service made me decide to return to this hotel during my buisness trips to Gibraltar..

That when staying 4 days per week, you have to pay for Intenret access in the rooms. I expect that wirelss Internet access is a basic offering in business type hotels like the AC is. Paying 12 Eur for 24 hrs is too high. A reduced rate for visitors during a long stay or an Internet service which enables me to buy Internet access for a certain time period, to be used over the total period I am staying in this hotel. Not having free Internet in my room can be a reason not to return.and choose for another hotel in e.g.Algeciras.

We stayed at the ac Hotel in La Linea as an alternative to staying over in Gibraltar for Gibraltar National Day. The Gibraltar firework display was easily viewed from La Linea beach. When we arrived the staff on the reception spoke to us in English, since our booking form was in English, which was a welcoming touch and check in was quickly managed. There was a pool at the hotel however we had other places to go and didn't use the facility. The room was lovely, modern, clean and spacious, with a good selection of toiletries. The complimentary soft drinks in the fridge were a nice touch. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return.

No complaints however an extra lock on the bedroom door, for added security, would have been better.

the location and facilities

Very impressed with the quality of this hotel,everything was !st class! Receptionists spoke English and were helpful and courteous.I had booked an superior room for 3 nights and added an extra night at the start in a standard room-I was put in a superior room for the extra night at no extra cost! The views over the bay and Gibralta were wonderful. The free mini bar in the room was also a welcome feature. I would not hesitate to recomend this hotel to anyone.
