This converted and fully renovated charming property dates back to the 16th century. It is located in the Sierra Nevada Nature Reserve, nestled in the Las Alpujarras valley in the province of Granada....
Score from 14 reviews Wonderful
This is a stunning location but very remote. If organised walks, visits etc are your bag this is brilliant. The English owners are very clued up, imaginative and very attentive.
Enjoyed sociability among guests, great views, and specific help with walks from inn owners.
Would have liked to be welcomed upon arrival and oriented to the hotel and general set up.
Location with views was good and as expected. Showers good. Air-conditioning worked well, although not needed as it was cool at night. Plunge pool and sitting area was good, although could get crowded.
Old fashioned Spanish beds that were too small for anyone over 5' 8". No extra blankets. This resulted in a poor nights sleep. Dinner was OK. Main course options of fish, chicken or vegetarian were disappointing. Fish was like children's nuggets, some of which were mainly bone. Chicken was described as Moroccan style, but was bland. Starters were OK and walnut tart was good. Coffee after dinner was weaker than we would have expected. Wines were underwhelming and breakfast was of a basic continental style. Little choice and felt somewhat mean. 90 euros for accommodation and 58 euros for dinner was expensive for what we got. The messaging on the owners web site led us to believe the eating and sleeping experience would be of a modern high standard that we are used to in other UK and Spanish B&Bs and small hotels. Re-read the description of food on booking.com (which is ambiguous) and on the owner's own web site which emphasizes the importance and thought that goes into their cooking. As stated above, this was not our experience, what we got was perfunctory. For us, it was not worth driving up a mountain to go to.
Friendliness and local knowledge of David and Emma and their staff. Picking almonds and figs from their trees. Walking the Sierra Nevada. Dining in their restaurant. Sitting by the pool.
Leaving. Actually, I can't think of anything I didn't like about Las Chimeneas. It was a lovely place to eat, walk and relax.
I liked everything about this location. The lady who helped us check-in was extremely accommodating, and the location was excellent. I would recommend visiting here for anyone who wants to treat themselves to a tranquil setting. The kitchen was decked out superbly. My only regret is not staying here longer!
Very helpful, knowledgeable owners who gave good advice on walks, local history etc.The wood burning stove in our little apartment was excellent especially for February evenings.
Possibly give a bit more choice for breakfast other than cereal and toast.
Loved the meals...beautiful food and wine at very reasonable prices.
Beds a bit short for my husband and quite hard.

Small village feel. Local food.
Beautifully hotel in mountains landscape. Very quiet. Good for walking. Small pool. Food is very good with homegrown ingredients.
Very warm in August. A bit to much for walking, unless you go even more up in the mountains or early in the morning.
