great location very central near metro. great friendly staff. clean facility despite being a hostel. good matrass in beds, lockers in room.
I loved the clean, brightish look of the place. It was cleaned regularly and thoroughly, the staff was friendly and helpful enough, and spoke enough english to get by with. At night my room was quiet and comfortable to sleep in. The hostel is also located very close to the Tirso De Molina Metro station, and a couple of cheap grocery stores. They had Paella nights (3eur/plate) a concert by two kids, walking tour and the like, that make you feel at home, and comfortable. They also organise other stuff like pub crawls and such, which you can attend for a fee. I was there during a hectic weak and would often return tired, but it was great place to just chill in.
I loved the free activities like the walking tours, and the cheap pub crawl, paella nights etc. Lots of social space. Room had a feather duvet which was great! Clean and efficient. The kitchen was big and well equipped. Close to the big sunday flea market
I didn't like that they close off the kitchen and eating area from 10 to 12, its a bit annoying that you cant even get any where near it If you miss breakfast. The area was a bit dodgy at times, especially at night.
The staff was very helpful. They made reservations for me to see a flamenco show and gave good clear advise for using public transportation day trips to nearby cities and the airport. I was impressed that the staff made efforts to know the patrons' names. Everything was clean. The location is very good....though the plaza right nearby is a bit shady. They offer a free walking tour. Harriet gave an interesting and informative tour.
There are erotic pictures on the walls and windows in the common areas everywhere you look. A staff member explained that this was because of the name of the hostel, "The Muses".
The hostel is in the center of madrid, just 5min to puerta del sol! Staff is very friendly. The room clean and comfortable. Breakfast ok! I met a lot of people and I had a lot of fun!!
The room was super comfortable. Nice mattress, ar conditioning, space. The location is perfect, just beside the metro station and walk distance from the main tourist areas
Nothing. The hostel is super cool, however if you are looking for a party hostel, this is not the place.
Room transfers when one has settled..knocking on doors for tapas party, performances you don't care about. Noisy
The paella was great! Better that i had in some restaurants. The kitchen is good too! Multiple stoves etc. Wifi works great, good common areas .
The pillow was awfully thin, felt like i had no pillow at all. Horribly noisy aico. There were no free sangria night as advertiset on the flyer they gave you when you check in
Great for young travellers. Close to meto. Easy reach of Atocha Station. Friendly atmosphere .
Showers inconvenient. An elevator hard to use that begins on first floor..
Staff didnt aware that my room was still occupied by other guess and i was given other room with no Air conditioner but Fan only.
the Staff were all right but they frown at guests who can't speak a word of Spanish. They find it a nuisance. They were amiable at first but when work overcomes them they become cranky. Overall they smile but was rare
The transferring of Rooms and people who knock on your door for Tapas, flamenco dancing in the middle of your sleep. I requested peace and quiet, it was not given. Guests were being transferred from one room to another, why I think I met a former roommate again in another room!
The hostel is absolutely fantastico. We're talking modern design, comfy beds, nice shower.
Location: It's kinda far from where you wanna walk to. You'd have to take the metro. Your roommates might be annoying and/or dirty.
The staff was so friendly (and handsome :-) ). The facility was very clean. They offered a lot of wonderful tours and activities for solo travelers like myself :-). I'd definitely stay here again! This hostel was located very close to the Metro, Sol, and many other popular sites!
The neighborhood that the hostel is located in is a little sketchy. I wish they had an iron that guests could use. I was a little uncomfortable because they assigned me, a female traveling solo, to a room with an older man. I could have sworn I requested an all-female room though.
I enjoyed a staff, very friendly and easy going. The place is located really in the center, so it was nice for walking. I also appreciate a free walking tour, was fun.
The only thing is that its quite busy outside and so it was sometime very noisy, but its understandable due to the fact it is in the city center.
area is bit dirty
Comfortable dorm and bed, clean room and common area. Pretty good location and most staff members were friendly. The hostel was friendly and sociable with a good common area and kitchen and activities to get people meeting and talking.
Some staff members weren't good. I asked a few questions and they just said 'I don't know' instead of maybe asking their colleague. They seem to be mostly students/travellers doing a couple of months' work in the hostel. The activities offered were sociable but sometimes a bit of a con. 'Free' walking tour pushes for a 6-8 euros tip PER PERSON at the end then push you to eat in a restaurant where they clearly get commission.
Everything! 24hr reception, location, facilities, paella nights, good staff, really AFFORDABLE prices! Will visit this great place again!
Caters well for travellers on a budget from all over the world. Great atmosphere.
Very well-located! So close to Plaza del Mayor and Plaza del Sol!!! Also only 1 station to Sol! Also all the staffs were friendly and a staff gave me a map which was really really helpful in Madrid. I stayed in 8 Beds Female Dorm and everything was fine! Clean! The bathroom in our room was clean too :) They provide free churros, coffee, juice and milk for breakfast which I liked :) Kitchen is quite spacious than I thought and refridge was big enough !
With this price, it is very good.
WIFI did not cover my room.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave me advice on where to go and always paid attention to the people at the counter. They took their job seriously but also joked around with guests and had good personalities.
I was in a 8 female dorm the first night, which was a bit unsanitary and hard to move around as you had to try be quiet for other guests (but exactly as you'd expect in a shared dorm). Second night, someone broke into my locker and my lock had been gone and the door wide open. However the hostel workers were very helpful about this and made my stay enjoyable (importance of good staff!)
good location!very clean!
The bed will make noise.
Great central location near Tirso de Molina, free wifi, cool churros breakfast, in-suite bathrooms, lockers, down comforters,
the hot water wasn't very hot at all, you could only get to the elevator from the first floor (not the ground floor) which kind of defeats the purpose, very few power outlets in the room
It is a perfect place for accommodation with 24 hours a day check-in and check-out. In addition, the self-eervice kicten with free with Churros and coffee make a lot fun. Nice staff and fluent Englich! Really nice place!!!
