The location is good; however, it is not overlooking the water, so the "sea views" advertised are an exaggeration. Most of the balconies face to the sides, so you have to turn and strain to get a glimpse of the ocean in between trees and buildings. I think the hotel might have 2 rooms that actually face the sea, but you will pay a premium for them. I have stayed in hostels that were nicer. The room was dark and depressing, the decor was very old, and if they mopped the floor every day, they were content just to barely run the mop over without really cleaning. There were hairs of all sizes and colors on the bathroom floor when I checked in, and these never were gone after subsequent "cleanings" - just moved around. Overall, not a good budget value, in my opinion

Convenient to the old town and Roman ruins. Helpful staff, if not overly friendly. A little shabby ( and we stayed in a renovated "executive" room. The long front entry hall was of nice old architecture, but it had a very unpleasant smell.

Location was excellent right on the Ramblas and all of the shops and bars Hotel reception staff could have been friendlier. No tea and coffee in room and bed was hard.

The proximity to the old town was great, but the bathroom of this hotel was very dirty - hir everywhere, including on the "clean towels". However, the location close to the old town was good, and we enjoyed visiting the roman ruins. Dirty bathroom, with hair everywhere, and the very small shower,

The location was great, it was right on the main street and also close to the beach and train station. It also has a swimming pool that's reasonably big, which is great value considering the price. The rooms are quite big as well, with a nice classic decor and a balcony too. The hotel seemed a little understaffed with just one person at the reception, which always meant waiting for anything especially for checking in. The beds were pretty stiff and uncomfortable and the bath in the bathroom was discoloured with rust. Also, I saw someone else complain about the noise from the bar beside the hotel and we did hear some of that noise but nothing too bad. In fact, it was our neighbours coming in that was noisier!

The location of the hotel on Rambla Nova is ideal for shopping or exploring the city. All the staff speak English and all were very helpful and friendly. Even though the location is in the city centre, the rooms are shielded from the city noises, facing a central courtyard with swimming pool.

The good thing about Hotel Lauria is its location, on a wide, tree-lined street close to the historical quarter and to the sea. However,... ... apart from the room we stayed in, which was spacious, just about everything else in the hotel is disappointing: a cramped bathroom, for example, and mediocre breakfasts (soggy croissants, always).

The location of this hotel is excellent, only 50 metres from the viewpoint overlooking the ocean/beach/port & actually on the main esplanade which was full of families out strolling in the early evening. Plenty of choices for meals/snacks/coffee etc. The room itself was a basic hotel room but the bathroom had recently had a facelift which was nice, it was all clean & comfortable. Reception staff had some functional english which helped considerably. Our room had a balcony, unfortunately no view to speak of, but the fresh air & natural light was nice. We had no luck with the wifi at all either in our room or in the lobby. We would have loved to have had a fridge as we were travelling with some foodstuffs left from an apartment rental & a kettle for tea & coffee would have been a godsend too..

They take pets. Our calm and clean dog comes with us wherever we go and it's refreshing to find a hotel happy to accept animals. They are, after all, a big part of many families lives. The hotel was extremely reasonable for it's location. The quality in the rooms did reflect this price as the decor is a bit older yet still very clean, but you get what you pay for and we were very happy overall. The underground hotel parking is a huge plus too. Parking nearby is difficult to find cheaply and is very expensive in the car parks.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful- would definitely stay there again. It is a good base for visiting Spain and making day trips, and a fraction of therice for a comparable hotel in Barcelona.

Excellent location for a reasonable price. All the furniture and facilities in the room were very much in need of replacement, especially the beds which were uncomfortable and rather dilapidated.
