Location was excellent! We were half way between all the major tourist sites--Palace on one side and museums on the other. Breakfast was fantastic with huge selection of food and our own pot of coffee and hot milk at our table. The bar served a generous glass of wine for more reasonable price than elsewhere.
We were midseason with air/con turned off and the rooms were hot and stuffy.
Hotel in a fantastic position in central Madrid
Off hand reception and waiting staff. Helpful doormen and nice cleaning staff.
Location, Service, house Red Wine!
Decor in bedroom a little bland
Clean, comfortable roomy
No tea, coffee making facilities. Our room was on the street side and due to outside noise we were unable to get a full nights sleep on any of the four nights stay.
It's a proper Hotel with a lots of wood panelling, a pleasant Bar, Restaurant Foyer etc. The rooms are a good size, well looked after, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was dated but clean and fully functional. Underground parking on site was a real bonus. Hotel is easy to locate.
Great sleep with a bustling centre downstairs
I stayed on the 7th floor. A little dark through with so little window.
the location,the comfort,the cleanliness,the decoration,the dinner,the cheerfull,bright,wellcoming dining room,and bar.The silence during nights was valueless.
I am addicted to tea, unfortunately the quality and availablety of tea during breakfast wasn't good (small kettles that doesn't keep the tea hot,and no earl grey)also cheese species were only a few and not of very good quality.
The lady at the reception was very very very nice. Though I didn't expect it I was able to check in just after 13:00 even thou the booking said 15:00. Very quite, excellent service, very helpful staff, comfortable bed and great bathroom.
Maybe the water should be a bit hotter. WiFi was hard to figure out but it works very well.
We loved practically everything: from the perfect location just between Gran Via and Puerta del Sol to the delicate atmosphere of comfort, warmth and exclusivity contributed to by each member of staff. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious, you can taste all Madrid specialities including the mouth-watering "chocolate con churros". Wonderful shopping facilities are scattered all around the hotel. A branch of El Corte Ingles is just around the corner. All the main tourist attractions are within an easy walking distance and those more remote can be achieved by metro (four lines are a stone's throw from the hotel). We can definitely recommend the hotel and will be glad to come back.
We did not expect that the room would have hardly any window to speak of. It was pretty dark most of the time, but that didn't bother us much, as we were out till dark anyway. The pillows are very small, but when I asked for an extra one, it was provided immediately. When we were checking out, the receptionist assured us that a bellboy would easily find us a taxi so there was no need to order one in advance. However, when we were leaving there were no cabs available in the neighbourhood and we ended up walking to Gran Via in the rain with all the luggage to get a taxi.
Friendly staff, central location
Noise in the hotel neighborhood. No variety in the breakfast and was overpriced.
stategic location. walking distance to metro.
No sign or direction to hotel.
Very polite and helpfull staff. Clean rooms and great location.
Pijama got missing after cleaning (got it back later when we asked for it) =)
We were impressed by the location of the hotel within walking distance of the main points of interest in the city centre.
Bathroom was dated in style but very clean .
Excellent position in a quiet street but close to the metro. Many cafe bars & restaurants in & around the main square. Hotel within easy walking distance if the Plaza Mayor.
Excellent hotel. Very good place.Walking distance to all important places. Very helpful staff. Room comfortable and large.
Very friendly and helpful staff check out 12md but we were allowed to keep our rooms until we left at 2.30 perfect location lovely selection for breakfast.
Very noisy first night as we slept with window open. No issues when window was closed.
An older building with a bit of character, yet modern facilities
No major downside
This is a lovely hotel, room was nicely appointed and good-sized. We were able to use the mini bar fridge to keep some provisions on hand. The hotel restaurant was lovely and served thoughtfully prepared food. We could walk to all of the sights we were interested in.
The air exchange system seemed non-functional and we kept the window open to get some air, which brought in a lot of city noise. The wifi was limited to two devices at a time (fine) but was inconsistent in strength. Our check in was efficient but no warmth or greeting.
super location rich breakfast friendly atmospere nice bathroom
Very centrally located. You can take either the Gran Via metro, Vodafone Sol metro to reach hotel. Shopping & restaurants are literally everywhere. Excellent. Breakfast was great with a large selection. Room service was very efficient. All of our needs were met. Would definitely stay here again.
A little bit noisy at night due to location and renovations on the church next door.
Bit dated decor Bathroom a bit old
Staff could not be more helpful, hotel is located in the centre of tourist sector of Madrid, very close to everything worth seeing.
On a Saturday night don't expect to go to sleep to early as the sound proofing of the hotel is not up to standard and the locals know how to party into the early hours of the morning.
