breakfasts and one dinner were of poor quality with no experience in preparation. front desk staff mgrs. had condescening attitude. was awakened at 3 a.m. and complained about the noise. they would not discount that night nor would they attest to the fact that i was correct. i would never stay there again or recommend it.

Helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Central location for the wonderful Guggenheim and Arts Museums. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. Will visit again

Difficulty controlling the air conditioning resulting in a hot night

I have been staying at the Ercilla Lopez de Haro hotel for many years on my regular visits to Bilbao. The staff are professional and friendly and the standard of the services is high. I enjoy my visits to Bilbao and find that the Ercilla Lopez de Haro hotel contributes with a good and relaxing atmosphere.

Consierge service is great.

The 5 stars marked at the entarnce have nothing to do with real level. Restaurant is not good at all.

Nice hotel with reasonable prices, good breakfast, although the twin bed was two small for two people.

It Was a lovely comfortable stopover before our onward journey to Portugal and a great location to explore Bilbao, if only we had the time.

Great location, pleasant staff, free wifi, some lovely classic decor in common areas.

Not 5*. Holes in pillowcases was not really acceptable. Back rooms faced gloomy residential building, one limp pillow each. could do with a freshen up to fit the 5* category.

How has this hotel got 5 star status? I would suggest a 3 star rating would be more fitting. The tv did not have international channels. The shower was certainly not powerful. One pillow each. No tea/coffee facilities in bedroom. No iron/ironing board as standard in the room No spa / pool facilities. Generally I would expect the above in a 5 star hotel as standard.

Location and friendly staff and clean spacious room

Great location in the city center, with friendly & helpful staff. The rooms were very comfortable and a surprising good value for a city hotel. I was not in love with the bold black & white decor - but you can't please everyone...

The staff were incredible -- very attentive and kind. The restaurant downstairs was delicious with great wine. I loved the decor of the rooms and the well equipped bathrooms. Plus free wifi! And the hotel was perfectly located.

The staff were extremely helpful, the menu del daio was very good value and nothing seemed to be too much trouble

The hotel is tired and in need of a refurb. For a 5 star hotel there was a lack of luxuries, dressing gowns, slippers branded toiletries etc

Excellent in every way - friendly and helpful staff, lovely room, excellent breakfast, great location and good value.

You can find good hotels in great locations mostly everywhere, however if you would like to received excellent customer service this is the hotel to visit. This is what I truely like about Ercilla Lopez de Haro.

The staff in this hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is also very quaint and the lobby welcoming. Good walking distance to the center and restaurants / pincho bars.

For a five star hotel, the rooms didnt feel very luxurious.

The room was spacious, nicely decorated and had a comfortable bed. The lobby and lounge design was modern and very classy and the breakfast buffet was excellent. There was valet parking and because of the convenient location, we didn't have touch our car during the entire visit. Our package included tickets to the Guggenheim Museum and the breakfast buffet. We felt it was a very good value for our money and would go there again.
