Very good,
Score from 109 reviews
This beautiful rural hotel is located in the center of the Sierra de las Nieves Mountain Range, in the Andalusian countryside between Marbella and Istán. Hotel Rural los Jarales has been built in harmony with its natural environment. From its various viewpoints you can admire the spectacular views of the green, hilly surroundings. Rooms are traditional in style, giving you a truly authentic Andalusian experience. The hotel also boasts a covered outdoor swimming pool, which is heated in the cooler months. The local cuisine here is also excellent, and continental breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed in the hotel's own rustic-style restaurant. For dinner, wander down to the town to sample the local cuisine. You can also make the most of the free parking to enjoy dinner in nearby villages. The very nice and cozy Hotel is located about 14 km north of Marbella. It takes about 20 min by car over a pretty but very winding road. The Hotel is surrounded by hills and thus very quiet. The house and its garden with the terrace look typically spanish, well-kept and verry beautiful. The view is stunning. The only village around is Istán, which is about 700 metres from the Hotel. The breakfast in the Hotel is quite simple, but enough for its 3 euros. It´s recommandable to take the breakfast, because the next possibility is in Marbella. The hotel staff also lives in the building. Everybody is absolutely nice and friendly. Although nobody really speaks english, we were always able to understand each other and ask for some information. The room was large and clean and typically furnished for a rural Hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much and will probably come back next year.

What an excellent place to stay! In a rural environment next to the beautiful pueblo Istan inside Sierra de las Nieves natural park, the kindness of the staff, the cozy warm pool, great view over the mountains from where we can see Morocco shore line, it couldn't be better! Congratulations for the excellent place and keep the good work!

Everything about the hotel was exactly as I was looking for, it was a real traditional rural spanish hotel, the owner was wonderful and very helpful, I arrived late at night with a 3 year old and she was more than helpful with my cases etc. Views from the rooms and terrace were beautiful and I will definatley be visiting again

The view was amazing, the bedrom was really big and confortable. The swimming pool was small but really refreshing and cute ! the laday was really friendly, a lovely place to go to !! It's a shame the restaurant is not opened every night. There are a few restaurants in town, but we preferred the hotel restaurant were we had a nice and cheap dinner on Sunday. Maybe it vwould be nice to have a fridge in the room since the bar and restaurant are closed in the evening.

Very quiet and a really nice Hotel if you need to get away from it all for a few days and need peace and quiet and time to relax this is the hotel for you. Staff were friendly, views of mountains were breath taking. Pool clean and very nice. Would defintley stop there again. Village 5 mins by car and worth a visit it has few bars, with food at good prices. Hotel food was OK, Breakfast 3.50 but tiny, you get what you pay for. Breakfast could of been better, would of thought a small choice would of been a good idea, ie tomatoes, meats and cheeses. Instead of cake and toast with jam and butter. Would of liked a mirrow in the bedroom.

I'd never been to Spain before but wanted someplace away from the crowds, but not too far. This was one of a few I'd narrowed it down to and I chose it in the end because of the location, price, and especially because of the other reviews - which were not wrong! My husband loved it as well. The room was clean & comfortable, with a big private bathroom. It had an amazing view over the countryside that we had not expected. It was just a short walk from a small idyllic white village with some great restaurants that were much cheaper than in the city centre. And the manager was extremely helpful and friendly. My husband and I both agreed we'd like to return someday for another relaxing getaway, in fact, I for one was already pining away for it the very next weekend.
