Score from 560 reviews Very good
This is my second time staying here and they were as good as I remembered, if not even better. They have more rooms now, and in excellent conditions. Sound proof windows ensured a good night sleep despite the partying habits of Madrileños downstairs in the streets. Centrally located and helpful reception staff, I will go back there the next time I'm in Madrid!
Great location, clean bathroom
The location cannot be beat being minutes walking from Sol Metro station, Gran Via and Chueca. The shower in the room is great with multiple flow variations available. The block out shutters are great for sleeping, especially after a long night out!! The room are simple, clean and well furnished.
I had a double bed and it literally is 2 beds pushed together. This is fine for one person, but for 2 can be a bit uncomfortable if you like to sleep close together. The wifi was spotty and weak at times on my cell phone. Perhaps a stronger router is in order.
Great room, comfortable. Very clean. Wifi was fast and also tv with smart hub !!! Near to metro and all bar restaurant. Room was quite ,double windows so no noise from the street. Receptionist was very helpfull and alsospeak english very important as in madrid nobody speaks english. I really recommend madrid city rooms .
No elevator. But ok no big deal.
Everything was very clean. The bath room was spotless. Excellent location. Just 3-4 min to Sol metro station.
If you have heavy bags you don't want to come up 4th floor by your self. It's a Walk up building.
location is excellent and bed was very comfortable, the reception desk person was polite and helpful. lovely and clean. I would definitely stay again it. The room looked like the advertisement.
noise from outside as busy street below but with windows closed ok but would be nice to have been able to have it open at night.
Excellent basic accommodation in a brilliant location. Had an external winow, which was a first for me in Spain - although Saturday night did require ear plugs, despite the triple glazing!
I had reserved the rooms with my card, so my friend and I could pay for our rooms separately with cash or an international card. We went to pay on checking out but the receptionist had already charged both rooms to my card.
Ruben. The location, the bed.
My room was so tiny I could not get fresh air for my sleep. Although there was air codition I could not use it properly. In the bathroom the shower eas leaking a bit, and on the edge of the shower was mildew.
Very modern, clean, newly renovated. Excellent location and staff was very kind and helpful.
Pretty much in the heart of action around Puerta Del Sol. About a 15 min walk to the Prado. Comfortable room with double windows that did a good job of shutting out the noise of the revelers on the street at 4am. There's a disco right across the street but it isn't open every night.
It's quite tricky to park when unloading your luggage. Parking in central Madrid is expensive but the pension knew of a cut-rate place a couple of km's away. Driving in Madrid is not for the faint of heart, but that's not the pension's fault ;-) An elevator would have been nice. Pickpockets are a scourge.
nice bed and bathroom, clean, good design of facility
no lift to 3rd floor, no obvious sign for the door
comfy matress and pillows lovely shower with multiple settings shutters provide complete darkness in room clean location - close to sol and plaza mayor friendly staff
15 minute walk from where the airport bus drops you at Plaza Cibeles. 5 minute walk to Plaza Sol. Very close to all the sights and restaurants. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Fridge and safe. Staff speaks good English and very helpful.
Would be nice to have a kettle in the room.
Excellent location, spotless room with new fittings. Ease of access and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Very clean room, just what I needed for a two night stay. Friendly staff. Basic hotel but couldnt fault it....except it was a little difficult to find.
Great location near Sol but perhaps a slightly larger sign outside the front door would help spotting it a little easier.
Location & service is good
Very central. Helpful staff, changed TV channels so that I could watch in English where possible. Nice, hot shower.
Shower cubicle very small.
At €70 a night you wouldn't really expect too much in the middle of Madrid. Get over the facade and dragging your luggage up two flights of stairs and stay in The Passion Room with Juliette Balcony, amazingly comfortable bed and pillow, sound proof rm with air con, food and bars outside, Prado 15 mins walk and yore laughing. Great value. Thank you Reuben for fantastic service and great advice. Close your eyes when you see the place, breathe on , and don't have high expectations
The facade is ugly because Madrid Rooms opp you tge second floor up. The first floor is boarded so gives a bad impression. Look past that and lower expectations. After all it's two star. But good value
Fabulous location for eating, drinking, Puerta del Sol, walkable from Atocha station in 20 minutes, near Metro. About as central as you can get. Good soundproofing (twin windows both double glazed and even with three of them in our room above Calle Cruz we slept soundlessly). Spectacularly helpful young guy on reception 15 hours a day.
Entrance door looks like a speakeasy or a brothel and the drain smell is bad even in October. If you need a lift, go elsewhere (but the reception guy will carry your bags unasked).
location is perfect, you can walk everywhere. metro very close. staff is very good, very clean rooms, a little small but very useful rooms,
2. floor and no lift.
perfect location. very attentive staff. clean. cozy. good wi fi.
Location is perfect; The rooms are very clean, but small. We had an amazing shower in a relatively small bathroom. We enjoyed the double door to the balcony to keep the noise out (but it kept the heat in), and the blinds are perfect - did not wake up until 10am. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Nothing what I did not like. Don't expect the Savoy, it is a basic hotel with a hostel feel.
Good value for money given the city centre location Clean, tidy and spacious room (we were in room 308)
Each room is themed. We stayed in the Hope room for 3 nights then came back and stayed a night in the Amor room two weeks later. Both were cute, and welcoming, clean and comfortable. Madrid City Rooms is convenient and located very near Plaza del Sol. We walked everywhere. The price was unbeatable. The staff is friendly and speaks English. We appreciated them always making us feel welcome. Being in such a high traffic area, I thought it would be noisy, but we closed the window and shade and it was very quiet. The showers are neat! They have a bunch of settings that spray water at different heights. It was great for the days I didn't want to wash my hair. I would stay here again in an instant. Madrid City Rooms, you set a high standard for the rest of the vacation.
Ummmm. Nothing. I liked it all.
The room was equipped with all the necessary items. Good location at the centre
No lift, you have to go up three stories with stairs each time. Reception only available a few hours a day.
