its my 3rd time staying in this hotel and looove it..and everytime I go to madrid thats the place I wanna stay ...I dont want even to search for anything else the only thing I didnt like was as I sayed Ive stayed 3 times there..first time was 4 years ago..and I noticed that absolutely nothing has change on this years..especialy in decoration..and I noticed that especialy this year the rooms were a bit left over..meaning that the walls definetly need some fresh painitng..you could see some dirts and scratches...and also in general some maintenance in the rooms..so to not feel like they are kind of abandoned

The location was very good. Close to metro. Right in the heart of gay district. Easy walking to bars, restaurants, etc. The museums are all two miles or less away, easy walking. The rooms have nice wood floors, beds are comfortable, there is a small closet, and a small balcony as well. The staff was great. I left my train passes in usa and had them FedEx to the Madrid House. They took them with no problem and held them for me. The only bad part of Madrid House was the bathroom. The floor, which is raised up from the room, was broken and you had to be careful where you stepped. The shower was small, but I read a review on that before I booked, so no complaints. The only other problem is that this isn't really a hostel to me, as there is no common space to meet your neighbors. It is in fact a nice hotel that has limited services. Unless you make a request you will not see anyone after 3 pm. Basically there are a couple of nice ladies that clean and give you the key. No one is really around to give advice on where to eat, shop, etc. If you don't need advice from a 24 hour front desk, then the only problem would be the bathroom. Also in the bathroom there were a few pubic hairs laying about. With limited services, they might make up a simple multi language info sheet with neighborhood, museum info, metro, and the wifi code. This would have been very much appreciated.

Central location There was never a receptionist at the reception. The television in my room was on when I arrived but as soon as I changed the channel to find an English or french channel the television went off. I did repoprt it to the lady who was doing the rooms and she said she would get a technicien to fix it. When I came back in late afternoon the tv was on again on a spanish channel but again as soon as I changed it to a different channel it went off again and completely out of order for the whole of my stay.

Excellent location and room facilities, and at €30 a night (for one) excellent value for money. A small amount of disrepair and tiny bathroom.

the location was great for many sites and walking for shopping. shower was VERY small...cameras in hallway made you feel as if you are being watched also VERY little english by some staff and i arrived at 1130p-1200a which they knew about ahead of time and no instructions were given what to do when i arrived and there was no way to get into the building. i had to wait for someone to come to the house to let me in and show me where to go...building was secured. also when i arrived at the door for the house....they spoke with me through the door for awhile and almost did not let me in..

I got a cheap deal on a double-room. I hadn't even realised the number of percs that came with the room! When the lady showed me around I was really impressed: tv, radio, pc with internet, fridge with soda drinks included, air conditioning, and even a balcony for those who need to smoke!! Shower had a loose head to get the hidden body spots too, and temperature didn't fluctuate too much. The decoration wasn't to my taste, but as for comfort and facilities, I give it a 9/10 (10 out of 10 would've been a memory foam mattress!) I'd definitely come back again. Oh, and it's right next to 'El Tigre' which offers free tapas when you buy a drink!! Good location, very close to most things walking distance (10 minute walk to Plaza del Sol) and 5 minute walk to Gran Via. Nothing to complain about, at all! And I consider myself fussy!

Madrid House is located in the heart of the neighborhood I am most familiar with. Transportation, whether subway, bus, taxi, or walking is available. I have stayed at this Pension during several visits and feel at home. It is not luxury accomodatons but it suits my needs. For an extended stay such as mine, 3 weeks, the lack of space was sometimes a problem. I am a large man and the shower is small. The room is designed for an average size Spaniard not an oversized American.

The hostel was more like a hotel, very high standard and room was great with an excellent shower. The room i was in didnt have any windows so if i was to go again i would get the superior rooms as they have balcony's as at times i felt trapped in the room - and the computer and internet really need to be updated, extremely slow so bring a laptop if your going. But they are minor complaints overall the hostel was great.
