room to small and the bath without warm; breakfast poor
Location... sort of.
Too many things to list, but I'll try: There is no such thing as a non-smoking room, and ours stunk of cigarette smoke from all the past guests. In fact, they even have instructions (basically, open the window) for when you smoke in the room. It was unbearable, and we had to keep the window open the whole time. The room was dingy, and the bed uncomfortable. The staff was rude, and assured us that there was nothing they could do about our horrible smokey room (they told us to open the window.) The breakfast was the worst I've ever had in any hotel, ever. It was a few slices of meat, some old and battered fruit, and a few bread products that came wrapped in plastic bags. We had been in Spain/Portugal for three weeks prior to coming here, and this breakfast was the absolute worst of the trip. The location was convenient in that it was close to a metro stop, but it has a fatal flaw: it is directly across the street from a club. Not a nice, quiet club, but a dance club that plays awful techno music from about 1:30 am to 6 am in the morning. And yes, it provides the area with all of the drunk, screaming idiots you could ever dream of. I had ear plugs in at night, but it barely did the trick. Do not come to this hotel, you will regret it.
The location. Staff OK. Breakfast Ok. That's all I can say.
No facilities or WIFI at all.
Nothing else I can say. It has a perfect value for the price
the location - easy to walk to all the sights.
Trying to find the hotel. The street is only signed from one end and we came in the other so went straight passed it. It should state that it is off Calle de la Cruz one end and the other end is Plaza de Santa Ana. Air conditioning / heating is very noisy.
it's very good to stay in the city center and to enjoy the night amenies. If you need a quiet place, this is not the right location. Anyway I liked it so much
location, staff, breakfast, cleanliness, lift
pillows, english is not understood
All the things in this hotel, specially cleanliness.
The hotel shall provide hot water but it was not
Inexpensive, simple, clean, everything worked, friendly staff, very central and seemed to be very safe location with Spar shop almost next door
Noise on street below on and off during the night - social revellers and refuse collections. Double glazed windows there were good, but didn't fully block noise. Any ear plugs would sort it out.
Hotel is close to Puerta del Sol, to the metro station, to Prado museum and also to Park del Retiro, very favourite place for us. It has wi-fi included in the price, my kids liked it very much because my son likes to play online games in the evening.
The walls between rooms are thin, so when someone started to call in the night in the other room, he woke me up. Also the sound after we flushed the toilette was rather loud and in high tone, it sounded like a whistleing and took long time untill it´s finished.
Location, kind and helpful stuff
Bed is very old, at some rooms can be too noisy
Location Ease of booking/payment
Noisy Basic room Not even a kettle in room
local to main shopping centre, bars and restaurants. Approx 25 minutes from the airport. Friendly staff. Good for the money.
Rooms had very thin walls so could hear everything from the room next door. Beds were hard.
Proximity to the centre
The street was very noisy all night and always dirty. Prostitutes were everywhere.
Breakfast does not start till 8.30am
Location is near the city centre and walking distance to Train station. Not far from Airport either. Breakfast was excellent.
Difficult to locate initially and rooms are not sound proof. One can hear easily the sound from other rooms.
Very polite staff, swift service. Excellent breakfast, cleanliness, location a few steps away from Plaza del Sol and takeout stores with cheap but good food, staff 24/7 at the reception counter.
Noisy street under the windows, difficult to sleep It would help if the staff not only understood English, but actually spoke the language and not just Spanish. The photo not representative of the hotel, the room much smaller than the photos.
Location is good as a sea view , nice place nice pool ,
they dont have refrigerator or a mini bar inside the room , we ask for a king size bed , the put to single beds together
location is great. If you don't expect any luxury, but be in the city center, this is right hotel.
not really great breakfast
The hotel is clean, location is great, close to a lot of good eating places. The lady at the reception when we arrived was very helpful and gave recommendations where to go and where to eat. However, the lady at the reception in the evenings don't know how to speak English so we had some trouble communicating. The room and beds are small, with basic amenities, but were sufficient enough. Breakfast is basic with very limited options - bread, some cold cuts & cheddar cheese, coffee/tea and juice.
Would be great if they also have plug adaptors that guests can borrow.
Located a short walking distance from Puerta del Sol., right in the heart of City Center. You can also walk to the Prado. The bus (which we took around the City Center) route is a very short distance away too! All rooms are front facing with two floor to ceiling doors that open to the outside. Can be a bit noisy if you prefer silence but when you shut the doors, all is quite quiet! Breakfast is refreshing with breads, juice, cheese, spreads & coffee, adequate to get your day going. There is also a wonderful grocery store just steps away from Madrisol that provides essentials as well as some gourmet items. There is an elevator on the property. The rooms are clean and well cared for. It was a very reasonable comfortable short stay for us with a friendly, welcoming environment.
There is nothing to dislike here.
Only the receptionist know basic English and no bar in the Hotel
Location was perfect and breakfast included made this great value
A bit basic but ok
Location was excellent, very central. Hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Breakfast was poor, very little variety and dining room cramped.
