Originally a 16th century convent for The Nuns of the Carmelitas order, this hotel rests in the historic quarter of Baeza, a dreamlike place where time seems to stand still.
Score from 468 reviews Very good
Finding it by car. The town is of two distinct types, old and modern. Hotel is in the historic section where parking literally does not exist and you have to leave your car about 200yds away. It is safe to do so in the marked parking area near the police station.
Location and appearance, it is a bit different from most hotels from the moment you enter. Reservation staff exceedingly helpful. Just another Spanish delight!
There was too much noise from the street, as well as from other guests.
Hotel had bags of charm and was located on one of main squares, easy walking to sights and fantastic views across valley to mountains. Great restaurants and bars just yards away. All at a low price.
Difficult to judge the hotel because the weather was so bad but it was warm and comfortable and the staff were friendly. It is very traditional ,in keeping with the surroundings but slick and stylish Iin is not !
Charm and character.
The wifi was very weak in my room on the 2nd floor. It worked fine downstairs.
I loved the location of the hotel, overlooking a beautiful plaza with the ayuntamiento and very close to the famous Capilla. Free parking is a 5 minute walk away on the Calle de Redonda de Miradores. The ambiance of the building and breakfast are all great. The room was also warm enough despite it being January with horrible weather. The mattress in my bed was very comfy. I wish I had taken it with me in my car back home. The woman serving me coffee at breakfast was very friendly and helpful. By far the nicest person in the hotel.
The hot water took a long time to get to the tap and wasn't very hot. The hotel wasn't very easy to find even with GPS and parking difficult. Best to use the underground park in the nearby square.
Our room was very comfortable, additional blankets available but only one bolster pillow! From the hotel it is possible to walk all around the old town and remparts, some lovely restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The food in the hotel was average but breakfast was good. Good value for money in a tourist location
Not a large hotel with a lot of noise and confusion. Very nice interior in old Spanish or Moorish style. Good restaurant. Good food. Liked everything. Would stay again.
Room 103 the water was not hot enough for a bath; the tap was stuck between bath and shower so water went on the floor; smell of drains in the morning; bed linen barely wide enough to cover us.
We have stayed at the hotel before and had a wonderful experience but this time, in room 103, we were very disappointed.Such a pity because the hotel is beautiful and the staff lovely, the room size generous and the hotel welcome pets. I hope the hotel invests in some refurbishment. I would be happy to pay more if the bathrooms were updated.
Breakfast wasn't great. Don't understand how they didn't have fresh fruit in Southern spain!
Location of room overlooking square.
The plumbing - water ran hot and cold!
The location in the monumental town, the view of the old town and the hotel building itself
Everything is a bit outdated. Wifi unusable in room, OK in lobby. Matrasses quite hard.
Nice location. Helpful staff.
Very central location, great value hotel & very comfortable, loved the old world feel.
Staff don't speak English
Good location, cozy room
poor low quality breakfast
location close to heritage sites
This hotel is really comfortable, clean and right in the midst of all there is to see. Very friendly reception. Great nights sleep.
Although the breakfast is included in the price, which is nice, it is not very good.
The price was nice for a single room, and the facilities in the room were ok. It was clean and the staff was kind and helpful.
It was being renovated and expanded, but that did not disturb us much except there were temporarily no public loos, only those in your own room. The plunge pool was up a separate stairs and not accessible by the lift.
Staff, central location, air conditioning, big bath, built in shower, traditional furniture including matrimonial bed. Idiosyncratic, but varied breakfasts. Views form bedroom window of town hall square. Hotel's garage attendants help in parking our car.
Staff at the reception did not speak Spanish. As the hotel is not in one of the most touristic areas and has less guests, breakfast was poor, mainly consisting of longer lasting bakery etc.
Excellent location in historic centre. Nice old building with atrium, stylish furniture. Very small pool, but nice after a hot day.
The dreadful noise I had to put up with, which caused the problem I had to complain about!
The co-operation of the staff when asked about a problem
Noise from other guests. No parking nearby (but free public parking 5mins walk, or paid for with hotel - someone picks up the car).
Large room and bathroom. Central location. Wifi.
Very difficult to find if arriving by car
Location, very helpful staff, view from balcony
Friendly service. Good location.
Having to leave
What a fantastic hotel, so beautiful, great location if wandering the old town is what you want to be doing, we were even lucky enough to have a room with a balcony overlooking the square. Room was huge with lovely furniture, I would recommend highly!
