The stunning Marqués de Riscal is located in Elciego in La Rioja’s Álava province. Designed by Frank Gehry, this avant-garde hotel offers free Wi-Fi, a spa and 2 restaurants. All stylish rooms at the Hotel Marqués de Riscal feature a distinctive zig-zag window seat with views of the valley. There is a plasma TV in each room and the black marble bathrooms come with a hairdryer. The Caudalie Vinothérapie Spa offers a range of grape-based treatments. The service was incredible, the staff very helpful and ready to do whatever needed. But the architecture is transformative! My husband is a retired architect and staying here was a remembering of himself, enlivening. We only wish we had known how wonderful the experience would be and we would have stayed longer.

Surrounding. Design of hotel. Bed and the bed linens were great. Complimentary bottle of wine is nice touch but it is one of the cheapest wine you can buy in the wine shop. Michelin starred restaurant is good value. Windows of the room are dirty. Some areas of the hotel need painting. Temperature of the hotel was not warm enough. Food in Bistro is poor. 20.30 opening time to eat in restaurants is far too late. Staff need more training to match the luxurious, upper class standards. Check in could be more personalised considering how much we pay. Jacuzzi water is not warm enough. Bathroom was freezing. Spa was unattended, we had to wait for a while to get someone to welcome us. Spa shower did not have bath gel.

This building is an architectural gem. Anyone with an interest in modern architecture should try and stay here. The rooms, even the less expensive ones, are huge by European standards. We loved the view of the vineyards from our room. While the spa is pleasant, I would never rate it number one in the world (apparently Conde Nast did).

That most of the rooms dont have good views. Anyone travelling to the hotel should make that point clear.

No hotel, gostamos bastante da decoração e modernidade do nosso quarto. Também gostamos do Restaurante Gastronomic que tem um serviço e gastronomia especiais. Os funcionários do hotel também são muito atenciosos e tentam solucionar qualquer necessidade. Não gostamos da visita à BODEGA MARQUES DE RISCAL(vinícola). Fizemos um tour superficial de 01 hora com um grupo enorme de visitantes, o que fez com a visita ficasse muito superficial, sobretudo para aqueles que gostam de vinhos de uma forma mais particular ou com um interesse maior. Estivémos em outras vinícolas nesta mesma região e tivémos uma atenção muito melhor e mais personalizada.

Prachtig gelegen, een oase in het Rioja landschap. Fantastisch personeel, je voelt je echt te gast. Het ontwerp van het hotel, futuristisch, onwerkelijk mooi. De kamers, ook ontworpen door Frank Ghery zijn schitterend. Zeer luxe badkamer. Prachtige spa. Kortom geweldig om hier geweest te zijn. Jammer dat we hier maar 1 nacht verbleven.

Todo, El trato del personal es fantástico, el entorno, la habitación, el restuarante, el spa....y además es la primera vez que me toca pagar por llevar perros y recibo a cambio un trato perfecto. Ha sido el mejor hotel en donde hemos estado Las sillas de la terraza de la habitación y las de la cafetería, son un poco duras....

De ondermaatse kwaliteit van de fietsen: of er ontbrak er een pedaal, of het zadel kon niet in de hoogte worden aangepast, of de remmen werkten niet, of de versnellingen werkten niet. Hierdoor kon er geen gebruik worden gemaakt van de diverse fietsroutes. Dit was erg teleurstellend. Het kan toch niet zo'n probleem zijn om er voor te zorgen dat 10 fietsen zonder defecten aan de hotelgasten ter beschikking worden gesteld? Een schril contract met de techniciteit van de architectuur van het gebouw.

Die Lage, der Ausblick vom Restaurant ist sensationell, das Schwimmbad ist einfach genial. Das ganze Haus ist ein Kunstwerk. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Het hotel is een prachtig ontwerp van Frank Gehry, dat was voor ons dan ook de reden om hier te overnachten. Het is mooi gelegen, mooi uitzicht vanaf het terras. Het is prijzig maar er staat veel tegenover, hoewel we van de faciliteiten die aangeboden werden geen gebruik gemaakt hebben, de overnachting in dit hotel zelf was voor ons een hoogtepunt. We hadden moeten reserveren voor het restaurant, dat wisten we niet. We konden op het terras nog wel wat tapas krijgen (wat overigens prima was).
