Hotel Marvi  

It is very much central and a single woman can feel safe walking back at night as it's on the main, busy street. The staff were friendly.

The internet connection was very weak- although it did improve once I complained (but it still wasn't good enough to support a skype call). The beds were uncomfortable, the room was noisy and a bit smelly. Absolutely no frills, not even a kettle in the room. The breakfast was the greatest shock though, it was just a single croissant and a small pack of two rusks with jam. To me continetal breakfast really does mean a choice of ham/cheese and some other bread than just one croissant. I have never received such poor breakfast in my life, and I've been to much cheaper hotels- and even hostels!

The location was ideal. However air con not working effeciently

No mini bar to keep drinks cold. No water provided complimentary.

The hotel was perfect for our purpose.We only spent the nights in the room being busy visiting all day long.It is situated in the point 0 of Barcelona, near Rambla and Placa Catalunya (from where the busses, the aerobus, the touristic busses left).Breakfast was included, and, although it consisted in a cup of coffee/tea/milk/cocoa with a croissant & toast with butter, we appreciated it.Every day a cleaning lady would pass by and changed the towels, took the garbage.The room has a safety box, for wich you will have to leave 30 euros at the reception (some kind of warranty).The receptionists were very helpful, they answered all our questions and gave us a lot indications. And most important, they speak English.(a rare thing in Barcelona)

The only thing unpleasant about the hotel was the fact that we had no sun light in the room. We stood in 204 and the window was oriented to a interior covered space. It was a bit difficult to know when was day or night.

Location is great- just a few steps from the metro. Or you can basically walk to various attractions. It is very basic but clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free wifi which works. Good accomodation for the price,

Breakfast is very simple and basic- but it is free.

We have stayed at the Marvi three times and gone back because it is a friendly, clean and extremely well located hotel at a great rate. The staff are excellent always willing to help and a handy 24 hour reception. For a short break it is brilliant, a nice breakfast and clean, very well maintained room.(Towels changed daily)> It is close to all shops and restaurants and a five minute walk from the centre of Catalunya. I would highly recommend this hotel.

As many spanish and portuguese hotels - poor breakfast (very limited choice - toastes with jam or butter, and everyday the same)

A cramped room overlooking a well - no natural light at any time. Very hot and airless with inadequate ceiling fan. Walls were badly marked with chunks of plaster missing. Room next to noisy lift which kept me awake most of the night. Breakfast consisted of one croissant and a pack of melba toast. No vending machine for water, no other facilities that I was aware of. The hotel was full, otherwise I would have requested another room. Fortunately I was only there for two nights, or would have moved to a different hotel.

Not sound insulated at all, especially the rooms near the street. It was like the windows were open. We did not sleep well the 3 nights we had been there

The staff were very helpful and always pleasant. The room was spacy enough and kept clean. The hotel location is good, near the Placa de Catalunya, convenient for La Rambla, Passeig de Gacia, Rambla de Raval.

The only drawback would be some of the rooms on the street-facing side might be noisy at night. Though presumably this is common to other hotels in Barcelona on the main streets. I asked for a room at the back & this was fine.

The breakfast was basic, but most places like this don't offer anything, so its not a negative.

Very quiet, very well located close tu University Place and Place of Catalogna. Good deal for parking

The hotel staff were really, really nice and helpful. The location is awesome. It was very convenient and close to everything.

Although it was a good location, it was a bit noisy coz we were staying in the front of the hotel, which was a busy street.
