Hotel Marvi  

It is very much central and a single woman can feel safe walking back at night as it's on the main, busy street. The staff were friendly.

The internet connection was very weak- although it did improve once I complained (but it still wasn't good enough to support a skype call). The beds were uncomfortable, the room was noisy and a bit smelly. Absolutely no frills, not even a kettle in the room. The breakfast was the greatest shock though, it was just a single croissant and a small pack of two rusks with jam. To me continetal breakfast really does mean a choice of ham/cheese and some other bread than just one croissant. I have never received such poor breakfast in my life, and I've been to much cheaper hotels- and even hostels!

Location is great. Metro station is just outside the door and hotel is within walking distance of many major sites. wi-fi was fast and unlike many locations easy to use, staff was courteous and helpful.

30 euro cash deposit required to use safe..would be nice to know about in advance. The room is small, but typical, of many older hotels in this part of the world. It was fine with us but if size of the room is important might not work for some folks.

breakfast was simple and the same.

The staff were very helpful, the room was basic but very clean. The location is excellent and is just round the corner from Les Rambles. The Autobus is every 10 minutes from the airport and stops just over the road from the hotel. Would definately stay again as great value for money.

I would not reccommend the brekfast, the toast is in a bag which was like a crunchy biscuit and if the fruit runs out they did not restock it. You got 1 crossiant, butter, orange, coffee or tea. Such a shame that they did not provide a toaster so you could do your own it would make such a difference.

I particularly liked the brilliant location and the extremely helpful friendly staff, who also spoke wonderful English, as, sadly I have very little Spanish. The restaurant reccomendations made by your staff were also two of the best places we ate during our stay. My husband is a wheelchair user and we found accessibility more than adequate. I would also like to add, that despite the fact that I was to late to change my booking without paying, the fact that I was not charged for Thursday night was exceptionally decent. Returning to Barcelona in the near future, and we will definitely be returning to Hotel Marvi. Many thanks, again, for a wonderful stay.

Best location n barselona and friendly approch

I needed a room for Mobile World Congress. Hotel Marvi had rooms available at a reasonable price, considering the high demand the city was experiencing. When I got there I found the staff to be really helpful while the room was clean and pleasant. The location was superb.

It is a 2 Star hotel and it is appointed as you would expect. Not fancy but clean, modern and functional.

Hotel Marvi was closer to La Rambla than we expected. An excellent location for a very reasonable price. We walked a lot and did not need to always get on the metro. The street was well lit and the entrance was off a main street with a secured door and CCTV, we felt extremely safe there. The room was very clean and of a good size and specification for this price bracket. The staff were very helpful and polite. If we go back to Barcelona we will stay here again.

The mattress was very firm, but this is a matter of personal taste. The breakfast had very nice croissants but was otherwise unexciting however it was of equal standard to other places we have stayed in Barcelona and Paris.

I liked the location of the hotel and its kindly staff.
