The hotel was lovely and we were very pleased to get an grade. We already have an apartment in Denia but wanted to be spoiled for a few days. The girl cooking breakfast was delightful as was the Maître D' in the buffet restaurant.
People on the Saga holidays had a much more inexpensive deal - I.e. All inclusive. On our first night of two nights we found one of the batr staff very rude - he questioned us asking for post dinner brandies believing we were Saga quests and therefore not entitled. Even Saha guests shouldn't be addressed On such a rude manner. If you are going to this hotel and are over 50, check out the Saga deals.
Beautiful rooms & Bathroom, pool area fabulous, lovely cafe on beach at rear of hotel, excellent breakfast. Nearby Altea seafront and Old Town wonderful. Lovely.
Hotel a little distant from town/shop, taxi or car hire required. Beach behind hotel was a pebble one.
Room Breakfast Swimming Pools Near to beach and good beach shacks
No free water available in room Distance to walk from centre of Altea
Staff, food, room, facilities all 5 star and excellent We shall definitely revisit as one of the best 5 star hotels we have stayed in in Spain
The hot tubs on the room terrace should have "grab Handles" for older and disabled clients to pull themselves up out of the hot tub. I hope the hotel management can fit the handles to some of the De Lux rooms
We have visited this hotel 4 times over the past four years and have never been dissapointed. We would like to thank all of the staff for all there hard work
Stayed with my two children and husband and met with my sister brother in law and baby niece. This was the end of our holiday in spain and what a perfect way of ending it! Two comfortable nights. Spacious rooms, children lived the jacuzzi bath. Great pool facilities. Buffet breakfast was so good, wide choice and availability and included in our price of stay. We also ate lunch on one day and dinner the other...again buffet style (29 euros for each adult and 15 child for dinner). Got a cab into Altea which was a really pleasant place to visit (old town) cost around 10 euro for a cab one way in evening. Plenty of sunbeds and people monitoring all the time (you cannot reserve). 5min to the beach, entrance at the back of hotel. Really perfect stay for two nights to end our self catering apartment break. Would definitely recommend and booking via booking.com is the way to go! I contacted booking.com and hotel about something before i went and both very efficient. Staff good and check out/In smooth.
Cannot think of anything negative. We knew for us it would be a bit of a treat and not cheap...but you pay for the surroundings and a 4/5 star hotel facilities. shame you had to pay to use spa :-)
The pools were great for our two children with plenty of space and two further pools to satisfy even radiant swimmers.
Evening good was limited and smaller portions not available for children which resulted in wasted food and a higher bill.
Luxury accomodation, spa, surroundings. Breakfast was good, huge range and easy to have exactly what you like.
Food was acceptable at dinner, but could have been better. To be fair, they had a full hotel to cope with as it was August. Quite canteen like for a 5 star hotel. Because it was school holiday time, it was very difficult to find an unoccupied sunbed. We finally put the towels on the grass near the tennis courts where it was quiet.
The pool was lovely, the rooms lovely, staff lovely and food great
Having to pay if you wanted to use the spa, we were shouted very angrily at by a Spanish family who were accusing us of stealing their sunbeds. Not the case as towels are removed by lifeguards if no one is sitting on them. The Spanish family were very abuseive to us to the point I cried. No lifeguard came to explain that the hotel had removed their towels not us. For a five star hotel it was very bad. We just wanted to go in the spa and having paid 175€ for one night think that it should be free!
Total Hotel facilities as to be expected from a 5-star facility.
I liked everything really, the spacious rooms, the sea view, the lovely pools, even though the hotel was full it was quiet and there was lots of space. The Japanese restaurant is wonderful and there is a great spa.
The hairdryer in the bathroom is not very good.
+ Nice and cosy rooms with views + Frienly staff + Large bathroom + Good restaurants (the Japanese restaurant is a must!) + Good breakfast
- A bit far from Altea (Taxis costs 8 eur to the Hotel)
Very nice! The pool was great.
Hotel excellent. Food fantastic. Staff made you really welcome, nothing to much trouble. All very pleasant. Would go back.
No problams at all.
the pool area is amazing and there is a little cafe on the water/beach un related to the hotel I think, that serves awesome dinner for an affordable price. The promanade is near by, great places to eat\.
the beach public park/ beach is not as nice as others in the area...we had a car so we drove to other beaches for jet skiing etc.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Food excellent and great variety. Pools excellent with lots of sun beds.
No hair conditioner in bathrooms. Petty I know but they do everything else so well and even provide dental floss that I can't understand the lack of conditioner!
- Friendly staff, always ready to help. - Whole of the hotel very clean - Great place to spend vacation with children.
- It's a bit secluded from the village of Altea - The WiFi was really terrible, if it was working. Especially for a hotel claiming to be a five-star hotel, a properly working WiFi, with decent available bandwidth is a must.
Quality of property, pools, sunbathing facilities, comfort of room, quiet
Terrible wifi, terrible coffee, poor breakfast food Inability to have breakfast outside on perfect summer's day
We loved the staff, the décor and furnishings, the food, the rooms, the sound proofing. The parking, positioning of the hotel off the motorway, easy access. All in all it was value for money and in the main a relaxing short break.
As far as we could tell there were NO non-smoking dining areas outside. We had to leave our table on the terrace outside the Miramar restaurant to move inside halfway through our meal as 2 young men were smoking heavily at the next table. The barman in the lobby bar ATTIQ I think his name was said he had no more Disaronno and did not have time to go for another bottle. We had gone there for an after dinner liquer as the Miramar said they don't serve liquers. This spoiled an otherwise Romantic night as we then had to listen to young children at 11pm on karaoke. NOT our idea of a pleasant ending to an otherwise pleasant evening. ! The staff in the Miramar were still serving meals too so we weren't particularly late and as it is a 5* hotel we were somewhat shocked !!!! I asked for the bill as I wanted to surprise my husband, however the machine they brought didn't seem to be working, so they brought another, which still rejected my card. The waiter (laughingly) suggested perhaps I hadn't enough funds !!!! I was NOT amused. We then had to just sign for the meal and put it on our bill. The shop in the hotel had some lovely clothes, however when I enquired about some of the stock I was told she didn't cater for large sizes. I AM A UK 14 AND 5'6..I don't think that particularly large. I model locally for several shops in Spain where we live. There were insufficient sunbeds too which often found us lying on the grass (my husband is 72 )and the beach is horrendously pebbly, however, we still enjoyed our stay and would return, probably off season when there are LESS children.
Great for Adults and Children together or separately. Food is excellent, staff and facilities are very good. Not cheap but there are plenty of other places that will work to a budget.
Excellent service and beautiful hotel and staff.
The hotel is fantastic. We had a free upgrade so had a lovely room with a jacuzzi on the balcony overlooking the pool. Short walk to the beach and lovely pools. Free parking in front of hotel. Breakfast super. Highly recommend.
Bathroom very good showers excellent Bedroom spacious Pool beds very comfortable Excellent swimming pools
Wifi terrible did not work in bedroom Balcony in need of painting/ maintenance Breakfast room should have air conditioning operating in the morning Should have option to have breakfast in outdoor area - this is available but not in use.
Could only have one device connected to wifi.
The room was big and comfortable. We had jacuzzi in the bathroom. We liked a lot three swimming pools and spa complex with sea view. The choice of food served for breakfast was just impressive.
The only minus could be that the hotel is situated very near the highway and some part of the rooms have the windows to the street which is quite noisy. Although in summer we were sleeping with the AC on.
