Great location. Clean rooms and good value for money Renovations although they didn't really impact the stay. Also the carpark is expensive as it's a public carpark.

Location. Pianist in bar in the evenings created a good atmosphere. Pleasant helpful chambermaids and reception staff. Good sized pool and deck for sunbathing. Spacious bedroom and very spacious lobby. Overworked bar staff. Room not thoroughly cleaned on arrival. No separate snack facilities. Snacks had to be taken in bar. Unpleasant drain smell in some corridors.

The beds were amazingly comfortable, best nights sleep in ages. Staff were friendly and helpful, location was excellent. I didn't eat there or use the spa facilities so cannot comment on these. Air conditioning wasn't available at first although this was turned on half way through our stay. There was a strong smell of sewage in the communal areas at times but after mentioning this to the night manager it appeared to be dealt with.

Lovely hotel in fantastic location right on beach next to harbour, near to tram and bus stops. Staff very helpful and rooms clean and spacious. Superior quality breakfast buffet. Hotel bar friendly and reasonably priced. Quite a lot of refurbishment building work going on, certain rooms near to noisy construction. Spa facilities advertised are at adjacent Wellness Centre and very expensive, eg: 26 euro entrance fee and further 11 euro to use heated pool.

How we were upgraded, to The Level. Staff were really friendly. We loved all the tolietries. Great location. Great choice of Gin not clear what was included in the upgrade. Not much of a vegeterian selection in the restaurant. Not clear hot to use air conditioning - was very hot in the room

The hotel is perfectly situated right on the front next to the beach and the harbour and within a short walking distance of bars and restaurants. The airport bus stops right by the hotel which is really handy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I requested a room on a lower floor and was given one without any problems. The room was perfectly clean and we had a rather large balcony which looked out over the harbour and casino. Perfect! In my opinion there is nothing to dislike about the Melia, Alicante.

The location was excellent. The hotel was under renovation so it was a bit loud and lots going on. However, it will look amazing when finished.

The breakfast was excellent The air con did not work in entire hotel. The rooms were stifling in April. I would shudder to imagine July. There was a huge cockroache in my bathroom.

Liked the level very much. All the staff, with one exception were very good. Breakfast is always excellent. Booking in when we were tired, despite a reservation by internet, took 45 minutes! The worst experience in any hotel in the world including Sierra Leone! I had requested a room on the beach side because we know the night club is so noisy. I was very happy to upgrade, but Concha Settier, who was rude and acted as if she were the Queen of Spain, and we were something nasty on her shoe, made problem after problem. Finally a charming young man came over and sorted out the problem in about three minutes.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is right on the beach and the beach is only 3 mins walk from the historic centre. The night life at the weekend is good with plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs. The standard and superior rooms are alright for the money, no more no less. The level however is well worth the extra. The swimming pool area loses the sun late afternoon which is a pity, but otherwise it is very good. Make sure you a get a room with a sea view. You can hear the waves lapping in and you get a real sense of being away from it all. Hope this review helps. Pool in the shade from late afternoon. Can't check in till 4pm.

friendly staff. Hotel is very conveniently situated for beach, restaurants, shops and city sights. Travel to Alicante every month and always stay at this hotel. Car parking is very expensive and the hotel is currently under refurbishment.

Location of hotel and the bedroom facilities We were given a noisy room where work was being carried out on the outside of the building - there was a hoist going up & down past our balcony. Our room was adjacent to a service area and there was also a service lift going up & down with staff from 0700. On the day of our arrival we had spoken to reception staff - we were not offered an alternative room. At the time of booking we had requested a quite room on a higher floor if possible. We were allocated a room(1038) on the first floor next to the work that was ongoing. The opposite to what we had requested. At check-in I showed a copy of the original booking with this request to the receptionist. We will not return to this hotel.
