Location was excellent The 4 star rating is overrated and the representation of the room on the booking page is grossly misleading

An excellent location. Very clean. Lovely dining area and buffet breakfast was excellent. The reception staff I dealt with, weren't very friendly or helpful. They were quite condescending in their manner!!

i loved the location however the service was appaling for a hotel that is supposed to be 4 star, long queue at breakfast, really long wait in hotel bar. the decor of the hotel was old fasinoned and the furniture in the room was really old. stay there for the location but dont expect anything more than a 2 star hotel in everything els

Lovely luxury hotel, right in the heart of Alicante between the port and the beach. Clean, comfortable, breakfast really good, plenty of choice. Ate in the Terra Restaurant one evening, the steak was fantastic the best I have had for some years but those with big appetites be warned - it is very Nouvelle Cuisine so don't expect huge platefuls. Suited us as we had had so much of feeling totally stuffed elsewhere. We overlooked the port and had the benefit of the evening sun on our balcony, great for March when the days cool quickly in the early evening. Would love to return for a weekend break in the future during the summer. Could have had more tourist information in the reception area, we had to ask for everything we needed to know. Parking expensive - charging for two whole days and not the day and respective hours and minutes of the remaining time. Would come again without a car and use the buses from the airport and round the town.

The setting is fantastic....almost in the Mediterranean. No need for a car as everything is in walking distance. It's a perfect base from which to visit Alicante city, whilst relaxing away from the traffic. The staff are well trained, helpful and polite. Parking is an extra Euros 19.25 per day. The rooms could be better sound insulated. We could hear music late into Saturday night/Sunday morning.

I had hoped that there would be an indoor heated pool, rather than just an outdoor one.

Excelent service, a very good location, very god breakfast buffet we only missed natural cereals for exampel: oat, etc.Employees always smiling and ready to help, etc.... We repeat that we only thing we missed at breakfast was natural cereal. Some guests were very noisy after past midnight, but we can`t blame the hotel for it.

Location close to vor village and ability to watch inport race and start from The Level where we were staying.from The closure of the level facilities on Sundays and holidays as the alternate facilities within the hotel are of much lower quality.

Location, very convenient for us as with Volvo Race, nice to have hot & cold food available with drinks at the complementary bar for suites. Staff really helpful & friendly Silly rules like 1. Can't take a drink from complementary bar to our junior suite- & there being only soft drinks in the suite. Therefore could not enjoy a glass of wine in our suite whilst getting ready to go out. Had to go to the complementary bar down the corridor. Also we travelled as a family 1 suite & 2 Double rooms and the children (aged 20-24 years) were not allowed to join us for breakfast etc in the complementary bar area even though they were on same floor. Seemed silly especially as I was paying for all the rooms.

Good all round hotel with ideal location and excellent staff. Our room involved a long walk from the lifts and the reception. I found the hotel expensive and the public car parking next door was extra.

The location is utmost. Being close to the marina and the town. The sea view from our roomm was great and being able to leave the balcony window open to hear the sea was lovely I think the hotel is looking tired compared to other hotels in Europe and elsewhere. The bathroom particularly could do with a re-vamp. The tiles and around the shower was not very clean. Having the shower over the bath in the corner was not very nice and I would have expected more from a 4Star hotel. The piano player was almost asleep....

Melia alicante wins over others because of the location but it did not inspire us. We felt we were perhaps given a room for a single occupant as only one bed was turned down and there was only one comfortable chair in the room. Hot drink making facilities were unavailable.
