The hotel was clean & modern. The staff were helpful. The room was very nice, big & clean. Breakfast food had lot of veriety to choose from. The room we booked was expensive & in our confirmation email stated a free open bar in the evening, when we arrived we were told the free bar wasn't available for another 2 weeks. There was little effort made to compensate for this as we had paid for it in the price. Also the room had a jacuzi bath which took an hour to fill, very poor to have the facility without consideration how it willbe used. Also no instructions how to use coffee machine.... Water squirted everywhere.

Hotel is fantastic, only some 10 minutes walking to/from the main shoping area near Plaza del Sol, I liked also the bar in this hotel - made fantastic drinks (try Pina Colada). Breakfest was excellent. In the breakfast room there was too cold. Although I was here in January, I think for the 5star hotel it needed to be warmer and more cousy.

Centrally located, close to everything. Very spacious and nicely furnished and decorated suite for a good price. Common spa facilities need some refurbishing to make them more adequate to a five star hotel. Now they look a bit run down and old. The special services of "The Level" are not well explained and in our case not available, closed during Christmas holidays.

The large bathroom and the very comfortable bed, closeby the metro station that goes straight to the plaza del sol. Nice spa & indoor swimming pool, which is a rarity in the centre of Madrid.

The Location of the hotel excellent and it seems it has just been renovated with modern touch, however the hotel standard can't be categorised as 5 star, it's hardly 4 star. Rooms are very small and bathroom cleaning is not not that good where u see black stains in the shower, if they continue with same standard of cleaning no doubt they gonna reach 2 stars in 2 years time!! Room size and cleanness of the bathroom. Also it has no outdoor swimming pool where u have pay for the indoor ones( basically it's spa)

I did not like anything about this hotel. I did not like anything about this hotel, service was bad they only have 2 elevators working and very small. I needed ice so I had to call downstair because they don't have ice machines on the floor, they charge me $5.00 to bring ice to my room, I needed an extra fork and knife they try to charge me $4.00 just to bring this to the room. The beds and pillows are very hard the ac did not work one one at all.

The staff was great and they made me feel like I was really welcome. They were not too official and not too relaxed either, I think. The breakfast had a wonderfull selection of food. The room was really noisy. Mainly it was noise from the streets but it was 9th floor so I just wonder what it was like in the lower floors. The windows didn't close properly which made the noise issue even worse. Also the lock of the room door was damaged, looking like someone had broke into the room. The public parking really is not anyhow related to the hotel and the hotel staff refused to give any help when I had some language (I had to make a one month contract for parking) issues with the parking staff.

The staff of the Melia Madrid Princesa hotel are outstanding and always willing to help with a smile. The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to the main shopping areas in downtown Madrid and also close to restaurants, theaters and city sights. The decoration of the hotel in general is modern but cozy and elegant. We were very pleased with the facilities of the Gran Premiun room and The Level lounge. Our stay was short but very enjoyable, I will certainly recomend this hotel to my relatives and friends. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with, was the gymnasium facilities and size. The ventilation was not very good and had lack of variety regarding bodybuiliding machines. There were no towels available, unless you ask to the SPA clerk for one. I was possibly expecting something else from a 5 stars hotel, as in my opinion the gymnasium should be as complete as possible so the guests can enjoy their trainning sessions, relax and feel more like at home. Everything else was excelent.

Location, size of room and layout of the bath. I stayed in Grand Premier room for 12 days - i.e.I extended my original from 5 to 12 nights so my overall experience with the hotel is very good. Hotels in the center of Madrid has a general problem with traffic noise. Melia Princesa is no exception. My room had in addition problem with slamming noise from the doors in the neighboring rooms. The restaurant at site has room for improvements in layout as well as service. One evening I ordered a bottle of wine with my dinner and got a cracked glass. They replaced my glass but not the wine ...

The pool facilities and breakfast. We were on the top floor and I believe the windows were unsafe for young children who could easily fall out of them.

The best way to stay at this hotel is to upgrade to "The Level". This was amazing! The benefits include a separate area where appetizers, desserts and drinks are served all day long. It is an ideal place to relax, take a break, and refresh yourself during your day. You also have free use of computers and a printer and a concierge who can make reservations or give directions or anything that you need. Also, the room we had was so spacious and the bathroom was amazing...especially since there were 4 of us in the room. What we didn't like about the hotel is that you can hear the other rooms' doors slamming and it is very loud. We could also hear the person who was in the room on the floor above us walking in heels.
