This historic former palace is located in Mérida’s central Plaza de España. Dating from the 15th century, the 2 buildings which form the Eurostars Mérida Palace have hosted royalty and other illustrious guests throughout its history. Here you will also find a small pool – ideal for cooling off from the warm Extremaduran sunshine. Stroll through the hotel’s charming interior courtyards, where you can experience the blend of Moorish and Christian design. You can also enjoy a delicious meal of traditional regional cuisine in the on-site restaurant. Modern facilities include a fitness room and sauna, allowing you to stay in shape during your visit to Extremadura. Hotel Rooms: 76, Hotel Chain: Eurostars Hotels. Comfortable and large room. In the city centre. Very close to the roman monuments. Nice decoration in the room inspired in roman style. The temperature was very high in the room. Car parking very expensive (16,70€/day).

The location is great and the hotel architecture is excellent, the room size is good and so are the bathrooms, but the beds are too hard. Smokers are everywhere. Smoke constantly blows into the lobby - too bad if you are smoke sensitive. They have a nice indoor restaurant but they don't use it much, they force you to sit out on the terrace with the chronic smokers, when you ask to be moved from the smoke they look upon you as a complaining person and become less friendly. The food is below standard. Some days the pool is open other days not, they don't tell you why not. If you have a front room the smoke will waft up from the terrace and into your room. The beds are too hard.

Architecture and location. There was a wedding party on the main lobby of the hotel (can you believe?) and I could not sleep because of the noise. The 2 lifts were not working during the wedding party (is this possible in a 5 stars hotel?) Very poor breakfast. I don't think this could be considered as a 5 stars hotel.

hotel was quite good. in excellent position for all the sights around.had breakfast and dinner in restaurant both were of reasonable quality although i think you could probably get better value and price at one of the restaurants in the plaza. we found it hard to communicate with staff as very limited english was spoken. perhaps they could make sure at least one staff member is on that speaks english for each shift. we only speak very limited spanish so didnt really get the answers

The location is good for visiting the various roman ruins. The hotel is perfectly pleasant but I wouldn't say it justifies its 5 star rating.

The hotel was at one time an actual palace - the ambiance is fantastic. It is located centrally to many of the Roman ruins of Merida. We would have enjoyed a bar/lounge area to unwind at the end of the day. The bar was fairly limited.

This is a delightful hotel and what a wonderful and tasteful recovery of a 16th Century building. Rooms are large and decorated in tune with the recovery style.

Good location at one of the main city squares, within good walking distance of the main sights. Like in many Spanish hotels breakfast start pretty late (7.30, while I had to catch an 8 o'clock train).

The hotel is located right on the town's main plaza, and is convenient to all the town's attractions. The hotel has a lovely inside courtyard and a small, but nice pool on the roof. The rooms were spacious and clean.

Spacious and nice room. Excellent location. The parking is far from the hotel, and even though the hotel has a person to handle the guest's cars, if it is peak time (i.e. check out at 12) you may need to wait a bit for the car to be ready.

Merida Palace is an excellent place to stay. The only negative issue I would like to raise is that receptionist tried to put us into a room close to a loud compressor machine (probably from air condition). But we did not accept.

A good central location in Merida -quiet,well apponted room at a fair price Central Merida traffic very much a one-way system and the Hotel not easy to find.If arriving by car, short stay bags drop off parking only(NO Hotel parking),with expensive public car park ten minutes walk.

The hotel inside is better than it appears from the outside and was central for tourism. We decided to have dinner at the hotel. Whilst the meal was good there was a long delay in getting the order taken and the meal served.
