We had a wonderful, friendly and very professional welcome from receptionist Rebecca. Our room was spacious, attractive and extremely comfortable with an enormous bed. The hotel has its own restaurant and large bar/lounge area with friendly bar staff. The hotel is perfectly located off the main square and close enough to all the Roman ruins. We had only booked to stay for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing. This was a good stay.

The situation I complained about the wait for the parking service. It took 1hr 10 min to return the car. I could have asked for it much earlier but was told that 1/2 hr was the usual time taken to deliver it. I've just phoned you but gave up as I was on hold for so long. At €17 it is the most expensive parking I've experienced. I filled in a complaint form and would have expect ed an apology/explanation and maybe some refund. What do you think?

Found everything about this hotel wonderful. Our room was fantastic and it and the public areas had so much character. It is located on the main square but parking is easy, pull up outside and unload, and they valet park for 16 euros a day. Just give 30minutes notice when you want it back. Yes the Town Hall clock chimes very loudly every 15 minutes but they turn it off at midnight for eight hours. We loved the hotel and the town, amazing value at the price we paid. Couldn't fault anything, but it probably does help to have a bit of Spanish.

Central location means everything is very close by. We arrived at the hotel and checked in ad went to th room to shower and change. My partner showered first, and while in the shower, the big heavy glass shower door fell off it's hinges and fell on his foot. His foot was bleeding and looked very serious. Rang the reception explaining what happened and that we needed a doctor. The reply was well you'll have to drive there (not a possibility as the foot was in a very bad state). Eventually the hotel rang a taxi, my partner was in a lot of pain. The receptionist acted like nothing was wrong and that this was a normal occurrence. We went to the emergency room and had to wait for X-rays to be done etc. The hospital staff were great. Luckily, nothing was broken in the foot, it was badly bruised and very swollen. The got had to be immobilized meaning our trip was ruined. The hotel staff didn't care at all. No apology no nothing. They eventually offered one free night parking for the problem. This was an insult! The foot is bruised and badly swollen. The weekend of sightseeing around Merida ruined. The hotels reaction was a disgrace.

Merida Palace is highlite so far of three weeks in Spain. Good access for drop-off of bags from car. Valet parking. Very friendly English speaking reception, and a superb, spacious room. Location excellent for walking to all Roman Ruins sites. Only one night. Wish we had stayed longer.

Really good location and very friendly staff. Hotel has a small but well equipped gym on the top floor. Rooms are of a good size and comfortable. Free wifi only in central communal area. Breakfast choice is OK but nothing special, for instance lacking in choice of breads.

Central location. Excelent service. Would like to know how you range your STAR QUALIFICATION. On international standard I would not give it 5 Star, rather 3 to 4.

Brilliant spot within walking distance of the main Roman sites. The car is taken to be parked for you so ensure you allow time in the morning for the pick up.
