The staff was very helpful and charming
Too long to check in
The location, the view, the room, though, the lights and the table beds are out of reach when you are in bed !
Some of the personnal who tried to reduce the number of towels, to no give toileties and delay the change of the sheets, because I succeed to have an half price deal, just like if when I pay double I have a double service. Give me a break !
Reception staff very good. Dinner very good, breakfast basic but perfectly adequate. Décor and style of hotel.
Plastic mattress covers awful. Door to room very hard to open. Restaurant not open during the week in winter but meals are served in bar area which was fine
The breakfast is tasty; very short walk to the beach; nice and quiet location; the staff and the pet cat Bene are very friendly; Nice and Clean. Excelent value for money.
No mini fridge in my room; there was a very strange smell in the entrance in the last two days, but that was not a big issue to be honest as the smell didn't go into the room. Breakfast could be self service, but wouldn't be as tasty as it is. (Paco - I think that's his name - does a good job doing the Orange Juice and Tostadas!)
Convenience from airport
No plug for bath. Was a while before we could get warm.
easy to find good parking excellent restaurant excellent value for money
The evening meal for 15€ was very good value for money. You don't need to pay for parking in the hotel as it was free right outside.
The room smelt if cigarettes even though we asked for non smoking. There were cigarette butts in the plant pot outside on the balcony area. One of the outside chairs was dirty and so old and faded it was not usuable. The beds were camp beds and different sizes and heights and could not be pushed together. Very uncomfortable and possibly the worst nights sleep we have ever had. The photo on the website is very deceiving as it does not show the 24 storey block of residential flats right outside the window as your view. The curtains in the room did not meet and the tenants from the apartments could see right into our room. Walls very thin you could hear people making loads of noise outside the corridor and trash being put in the bins right outside our hotel room.
The location and food in bar was good
The bar opposite the hotel was VERY expensive and unfriendly try the small bar inside shopping complex, much cheaper and very welcoming.
bar area was pleasant and bar man in the evening was friendly
The hotel is different to the norm and that makes it appealing and somewhat unique. Meals are excellent and breakfast more than enough for the price!
Heating did not work
location was nice...away from crowdy city and stone's throw distance from the sea
lack of varieties in restaurant menu
Room was cold pillows uncomfortable
we didn't know how to set up our wifi the nice young man on reception came to our room and set it up for us very helpfull
The staff were extremely helpful the food was excellent
Close to beach and Tridente tram stop, welcoming staff, striking styling ,well equipped rooms, much better value than the drab central Alicante hotels.Recommended
fast and efficient reception bathtub in the room friendly staff
very cheap bed poor breakfast
The restaurant was warm and inviting and the one gentleman serving, was extremely helpful. The food was very good and we enjoyed the meal. The room was very quirky and had an old world charm. The appearance of the hotel externally is very attractive.
Unhelpful staff EXCEPT in the restaurant. No plug in the bath or sink. I hate showers and chose the room because it had a bath! A poor nights sleep due to external noises. The bed was very basic, almost like camping. We could only get radio reception on the tv. Glad we were there for only one night!
Nicely situated between town and beaches. Good food, helpful staff, nearby bus stop and of course Benny the Cat.
Can be noisy in rooms due to thin walls.
Somewhat friendly staff, WiFi always worked, so good for business; facilities to meet colleagues, supermarket and a couple of restaurants nearby.
Location 15 minutes out of town, so I had to take taxis all the time; restaurant not always available, swimming pool too small to bother, and nearby beach rocky, not sandy.
The athmosphere of the hotel was nice. I also liked the surroundings of the hotel, not in the rushy city center. Short walking distance to the Juan beach. Menu of the day was absolutely worth of the price.
That famous "older lady" in the reception. Other stuff and surroundings were good, as expected.
What we liked: a. The look of the hotel: at first glance it seems horribly eclectic - almost a kindergarten attempt at architecture, but then you come to like it; in any case, once seen, it can't be forgotten or mistaken – including by the taxi/bus drivers, which could be helpful; b. Some of the staff were sincerely friendly and helpful in spite of being more busy than in other hotels because of the conventional metal keys to the rooms - you have to leave them at the front-desk every time you leave the hotel and get them back again later - more work for the people there; c. quiet location and the small "wild" beach at the end of "Calle Oceano" - rocky, clean water and algae instead of mud at the other one nearby - very good for swimming - though not for basking in the sun on the sand - mostly used by the locals I understand; d. the restaurant, though it has a name different from the hotel so could be an independent entity; the menu was rather limited, but the food quality was extremely good for the Eu12.5, which also included a glass of "house wine" which is quite good, both red (Rioja, crianza couldn't be anything else) and white (Verdejo, Rueda), and the wine card list is longer and better than in most other restaurants we've been to, even at the end of the tourist season (mid-October). I am inclined to say that we'd come back to this restaurant even if we were staying in some other hotel close enough to Mio Sid (which doesn't mean that we wouldn't stay at Mio Sid again); e. the patio near the swimming pool area, though we only went there before dinner, seems one of the best places in Alicante on a hot day - so cool and cosy; f. they say you can't visit Alicante without trying its churros, well, there is a pretty good Churreria (Blanco y Negro, Colonia Roman Street, 10) within 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel - near the Albufereta beach, and some facilities in the A.
What we didn’t like: a. breakfast; absolutely no choice, asking for a second cup of tea/coffee seems almost an outrage. Could as well sell good breakfast separately; if we were to go there again, we'd try to negotiate accommodation without any breakfast at all - there's a small cafe across the road in Venetia (Alicante abounds in Italian and Ancient Greek place names!) commercial centre with lots of local people in the morning seemingly enjoying a much better breakfast of their own choice; b) some of the staff tended to be on the surly side, though it could be accounted for by the end of the season fatigue and the almost continuous change of hands of the keys to the rooms; c. Alicante is quite a big place and if you are interested in big shopping centres etc, you can't do it on foot, even by bus/tramvia it's not within easy reach for a tourist, but it's made up for by the quietness of the place. Most waiters were really helpful and nice, the room was tidied daily; great memories from this place
There was exactly the same breakfast every single day- more variety recommend.
very friendly staff, good quiet location, short ride on the bus into Alicante with bus stop nearby, excellent food, very clean, beach close by. Will certainly stay there again
the restaurant did not open before 20.30, there was a strange strong smell at times which seemed to hang over the area but was sometimes very strong in our bathroom but this was not the Hotels fault.
the pool area was pretty the resturante did good value for money food and the Nachos the bar man was very helpfull and made the stay in the hotel enjoyable.we payed very little to stay so was good value for money.
the reception staff were very abrupt and seemed like it was to much like hard work to help you.the first room stunk of sewage we were moved but only after basically being told we were lieing.rooms were tierd but servicable.
