On the promenade of La Línea de la Concepción, the AC Hotel La Linea by Marriott is only 15 minutes from Sotogrande and just over half a mile from the center of the city.
Score from 536 reviews Very good
Featuring a restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi, the family-run Hostal la Campana is just a few metres from the border with Gibraltar.
Score from 257 reviews Good
Conveniently located in the centre of La Linea de la Concepción, this hotel is surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. The beach and the harbour are only 550 metres away.

Score from 390 reviews Good
Loved the location, the comfortable beds, the cleanliness and the 24hr reception and for 45 euro it served its basic purpose
Lack of Tea and Coffee making facilities. Room just needed a little updating.
Situated as described 10 minutes from border and surrounded by restaurants and bars cleaned every day
Booked a twin/dbl was asked if we wanted a dbl but found out they are the ones they use for single occupancy as my partner had stayed there previously no tea/coffee making facilities and only 1bath towel but 2hand towels
Close to Gibraltar border.
Very tired decor, curtIngs hanging off rail. Bitten to death by mosquitos Smelt musty in wardrobes
The location was great and it was a ok hotel, nice getting use to it.
The wifi was poor, it wasn't 100% clean at times
Location - convenient to get to bars and cafes, and also to the airport (gibraltar). Good value for money overall.
Reception staff seemed quite hostile towards me and i never really understood why. The exception was the main manager who was friendly. No air-conditioning or breakfast but i knew that before booking
This hotel is very basic however the staff are helpful and the rooms are basic but clean and towels are changed everyday. A good budget hotel in my opinion.
close proximity to border of Gibralter
Very noisy even when the window was closed traffic on street continuous through most of the night locals could be heard talking and shouting most nights at 3 am so sleeping difficult.no air con so dread to think what it would be like in the height of summer room dusty floor needed a wash feet would get dirty after shower if you didn't put shoes on. door to room not that secure all reflects in price but I would not recommend would not stay there again
it is very poor hotel, very old. The room aren't bed's light; no confort; very small bathroom without confort and very old. I never want be there again.
Location: La linea is well worth visiting in addition to Gibraltar (in fact, La Linea seems to wake up just as Gibraltar goes to bed). This hotel is in a central spot, 10 minutes walk from the Gibraltar border and around the corner from La Linea's many bars and tapas restaurants.
Cleanliness: The room was filthy. There was used dental floss on the floor, white stains on the bed covers, and lots of dust. In addition, the tap/shower water was yellow (may have been rust) and had an odd smell. We were there for one night before we flew home, so wasn't a disaster for us. But would have been very disappointed if we'd booked for longer.
The location was perfect as I had to work in Gibraltar and walk every day. On my arrival I asked for a room with a sea view and was given a choice by the receptionist, which was very kind (free of charge!!) The staff were helpful and kind. If you are looking for a short term stay and not fussed by the cleanliness-then I can recommend the hotel as it is very handy- not only walking distance to the border (about 10min walk), but also in the very centre of La Linea- so no need to walk at all :) I need to stress though that the staff at reception were very helpful and would like to praise them for their efforts to make my stay pleasant.
I am not sure what I was supposed to expect as it is the 1st time I stayed in a 1 star hotel. As I booked sort of last minute, the price for a room was quite a lot, therefore-not good value for money in regards to that. As I read the other comments-my room was not quite clean(I don't think it was cleaned at all when I occupied it as there was dust all over and had to ask for my sheets to be changed), and was initially quite gutted, but informed reception and they tried to handle it. My bath was blocked-so was not good at all as I stayed there for 2 weeks, and some facilities like bath and floor were not cleaned on daily basis. As my room was next to the stairs, there was occasional noise from people staying in other rooms and not considering the rest of the guests.
it's 10 minuntes walk from the border to Gibraltar
Room really dirty. Sand everywhere, the bathroom stink from urine
No air condition apart from that was ok
Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. The hotel was within walking distance to the Gibraltar border.
The cleaner could not clean. It took several attemps for the bath to cleaned. We were there for six nights and it was very hot but she didn't change the sheets once. She was also very miserable. There was a bar area however this was not in use and was in the midst of being renovated but in the time we were there we saw no work being done. The wifi would only work on the first floor this meant coming every time we needed to use it.
Very old, musty, not a/c. Very noisy, windows without blinds, very uncomfortable beds, the lift did't work. Long stairs to get in. I would NOT recommend
nice rooms internet hotel like
windows did not open properly
The staff were very polite and helpful despite their limited English and my limited Spanish. Always had a smile and a wave and they were patient with my autistic daughter. It was quiet, even though it was on a busy road and although it was very basic, it was just as I expected for the price.
Not wheelchair friendly at all. The lift is at the top of some stairs and doesn't stop at every floor.
Convenient for trip
Allocated room unmade No Aircon Dirty floor Roller Blind Broken Bed Cover Dirty Building works in Progress No Mosquito Netting Rooms old and tired Bathroom unvented
Location ideal for visiting Gibraltar and for visiting the local tapas bars in the evening. Staff were very friendly.
location to shops and bars
easy to book over the net
bath/shower area could have been cleaner
No facilities to have any drinks in room no fridge or kettle.
Top floor of hotel has significant damp problem with the air heavy with mould. My pillow smelt unwashed. Staff were making lots of noise at night whilst watching television. Got loved in once. Got locked out once. Staff did not speak English. No air condition in any room. No fire evacuation procedures in sight. When front door is locked (which it often is I.e. When staff are having a toilet break) hotel becomes a death trap as only exit is via a jump down from a first floor window. Lift stops on half landing so you still have to drag your suitcase up stairs to access bedroom. Ground floor lobby looks third world.
The water pressure was nice.
It was dirty and not well kept.
