Moderno  

The Moderno was in a very convenient location easy to walk to from the airport bus. The staff were always very courteous and helpful, room was everything that you wanted, good beds, shower and general facilities. Breakfast was very good, varied and with plenty of fresh fruit and hot drinks. Would recommend to others.

One small point would it be possible to put tea and hot drink making facilities in the room.

Moderno was a great base to discover Barcelona, perfect location with very helpful staff.

On checking out of Moderno I was told that the first night's room rate had already been taken from my credit card. I had no prior knowledge of this and did not intend to pay with my credit card. Staff informed my there was nothing they could do about it. I understood that credit card details held with Booking.com were for security of room booking and not used to pay in advance for rooms without prior consent/notification from card holder.

The location was very good ,as a few minutes walk from many sights Also only few minutes from airport bus ,as well as location of the brilliant hop on and off ,open top tourist buses (Plaza Catalunya) .Many restaurants are nearby and despite the numerous warnings about pick pockets, we felt comfortable walking back to hotel after. We particularly liked having a fridge as we were able to buy pg tips and milk in supermercat, thus having a good cuppa when wanted!, We enjoyed having the bonus of breakfast included.The cold buffet was very good , varied and plentiful but would not recommend the hot sausage or egg.A Good start to the day however. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We didn't like rust around the bath and the room was very small.We had front room which was a bit noisy at night but you can request an inside room if want it quieter. The colour scheme was rather dirgey in public areas and would have benefitted from brightening up and being more cheerful and inviting.

Great location just steps from la rambla and lyceu metro station. Not too noisy at nigh and breakfast is included. Receptionists were all very accommodating and gave us a map and pointed out places of interest in relation to the hotel. Bathroom is spacious.

The single beds were pushed right next to each other (which is common in Europe), so if you're looking for a lot of space/really dislike your traveling companion, I'd go somewhere else.

We travelled as a family with children aged 14 and 8 and stayed in the family room which was more than adequate for all of us, the room was clean and the breakfast buffet was good. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel location was really central for getting about. We would definately recommend and if we returned would chose the hotel again for its location.

Noisy on the front room

The only thing good about the hotel was its location. The room was extremely noisy even at 3 am. Would never go back.

Breakfast seemed to run out of items (fruit and some breads) after 10.00am so needed to be there early. Our air conditioning seemed to produce cigarette smells on one occasion so had to turn it off. Our room window wouldn't lock.

This is a very handily placed hotel for waterfront , La Rambla, gothic quarter & airport bus . The reception staff were helpful & friendly. Breakfast was reasonable .

The size of the room was small & the bathroom tile grouting desparately needed attention giving it a slightly shabby air. The room we were given bore no resemblance to the one featured on photo,& should have been smarter for the price paid .

the staff was great and very helpful!!! the location of the hotel is right on the middle of ramblas,the breakfest is not rich but its enught theres is a discount to the hotel resturant which was very good

beds are too soft,shampo and soap weren't add every day
