A friendly welcome and lovely hotel with rooms surrounding a central courtyard. Around 8km from Ronda and surrounded by fabulous scenery.

Great location in the countryside close to Ronda and not too far from Seville, Jerez. Nice dinner and breakfast. There are other similar hotels around. Staff is from UK.

Room was not sound proofed at all, small room with no heating which is important if it's not a summer time. Not that cosy as you would expect from Spanish country home.

Close to Ronda but beautifully positioned at the river. You may call it romantic. Friendly owners and staff. Nice choice for breakfast. Dinner excellent.

Great location and base to explore area eg pueblo blancos and Ronda. Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent facillities and decor. Serene surroundings with river running past.

Beds a little soft and sqeak alot.

The hotel is perfectly located in a (for Andalusian standards, of course) lush valley: the hotels terrace is basically situated on the bank of the river (great views on the rocks on the other side) while the hotel itself is surrounded by several trees and bushes. As the main road not only passes some distance from the hotel, it also goes several meters above the hotel, you will hardly hear any noise coming from the traffic on the road. Note, that there is a railway line on the other side of the river but there are just few trains per day (including those with cargo) and the rooms usually don't have windows directed toward the railway line. Altogether, indeed a very quiet and spectacular location. The rooms in this old mill are very tastefully furnished and the breakfast is excellent. Also the evening meals are good: they are an interesting combination of Spanish dishes with some British influence. By the way, the owner's English may be better than of his guests (it is his native tongue), so finally no problems with communication in Spain.

Some guests might not like the fact that there is no roof when one goes out from the room: this means that if it is raining a lot, which can sometimes happen in the off-season, one has to take an umbrella to get to the breakfast room. This is, however, an extremely small problem (which cannot be solved due to the original construction of the mill) and the hotel is really perfect.

Very relaxing. Really nicely converted watermill in a quiet, scenic location, but handy for Ronda. Great to breakfast on the terrace whilst small birds flit around the vegetation by the river and eagles patrol the crags above. Looks to be a good walking area.

What's not to like? If we had not already booked our next few nights down on the coast we would have definitely asked to stay for longer.

Excellent location, super views. Great destination for a quiet and relaxing break. Enjoyed having breakfast and dinner on the terrace overlooking river. Watched the bats swooping around at dusk. Good venue to tour the area.

Bar and dinner prices are on the high side, would not like to have dinner on more than a couple of nights, limited unchanging menu.

The owner did everything he could to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The terrace, where we had breakfast and dinner, was delightful.

This lovely quiet, infomal little hotel is a sensitively converted mill situated right by the Rio Guadiaro. Rooms are clean, well furnished and cool with their own facilities. To have a leisurely breakfast on the terrace, hearing the hush of the river over rocks and watching and listening to a variety of birds (which from Spring through summer will include golden orioles) is a perfect delight. Look across the river and above the trees the cliffs tower above. After breakfast maybe follow the 9k track down the river valley to Jimera. It's a most beautiful walk and after an iced coffee, tinto verrano or something to eat at the Quercus restaurant, take the 1.03 train back to Benaojan. The afternoon might find you taking a drive to Ronda or a beautiful village, like Grazalema or Villaluenga. The scenery and wildlife (especially birds) is superb and being higher up means that it is fresher than by the coast and the dry heat is pleasant. You can extend the trip into the evening or return to the hotel in time for a swim in the pool as you watch the sun sink towards the cliffs before having your evening meal on the terrace - or inside if you prefer. On other days Philip can give you a guide to one of the very many all day or half day walks that start from the hotel or nearby - or you might drive further afield. This is a perfect hotel for people who like a relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere in a wonderful setting by a river which flows all year. Walking and birding is excellent. Or just swim, sit on the terrace and read. My second time there and I would love to return.

The hotel is a converted mill set in the most beautiful Andalusian countryside, with stunning views from the rooms, the terrace and, particularly, the excellent swimming pool area. The conversion has been very sympathetically done. The hotel is ideal for walkers; the owner, Philip, is a keen walker and has a large number of walks for all levels in a loose leaf folder for guests to borrow. A great place for nature lovers, but with easy access to Ronda, Sevilla and other places of interest.

The location beside a small river was beautiful. The host was extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The entire facility had good amenities and charm. We were very glad to have chosen this location rather than joining the rat race in Ronda, which seemed more like a cruise ship port than an Andulucian village.

Great location , building and rooms, fantastic dinner on the terrasse and yummy breakfast. Too bas we dis not stay longer!

Owner Phillip has a valuable knowledge of the area for walks and suggested an amazing one for us that made our short trip. So a big thank you to him. Great rooms and location right by river so good for a 2 star.

Unfortunately the grounds and outside equipment were in need of attention, also the food was basic and just average, but saying that we ate there both nights as we were too lazy to go elsewhere.

La ubicación y habitaciones.

Hay un descuido de las instalaciones, la piscina no está limpia ni en uso, hay dos perros en el patio que utilizan además el salón de billar con lo cual está inutilizado, no hay un salón donde sentarse, carece de macetas, plantas etc en las terrazas y están decuidadas.....

La situación, extraordinaria: junto al río Guadiaro, con vistas a la montaña, bellísimo. El hotel, antiguo molino reconvertido, es una preciosidad. Habitaciones amplias y muy limpias, confortables. Muy buen desayuno. Amable acogida. Información de rutas por el entorno: preciosa sierra y alrededores idílicos. Y la piscina, ideal para relajarse o darse un baño con vistas a la montaña. Para volver.

Las cenas en el hotel son buenas y abundantes, pero los precios son sin iva y la bebida aparte. Sale más caro de lo que parece. Aun así, merece la pena probar.

Problème avec l installation électrique. La nourriture est bonne mais le lieux mériterait une gastronomie plus typée.

El lugar es precioso eN plena naturaleza. El alojamiento muy agradable, ideal para relajarse y disfrutar.

Reservamos habitación con cama de matrimonio y nos dieron una con camas separadas. El entorno de la casa estaba muy descuidado, la piscina no estaba habilitada, ni siquiera para tomar el sol,

el entorno es precioso, y el desayuno estupendo; es un lugar excelente para la práctica del excursionismo.

el acceso necesita arreglarse un poco y la ducha se descuelga con facilidad y produce erosiones en la bañera. Peligro de resbalar.

La habitacion, el desayuno,la cama muy comoda, el paisaje, la tranquilidad, la amabilidad de Los duenos.

Agua de la ducha no muy caliente, la cena regular, no muy bien cocinada.

El trato, las habitaciones, la ubicación, la terraza, las vistas... Todo perfecto, siempre repetimos, esta ha sido la cuarta vez que vamos!

Que no tengan almuerzo...

Realmente ha sido una estancia magnífica. Tanto por el personal del hotel, como por el trato recibido, las facilidades y flexibilidades que dan, la ubicación... es que no podría decir absolutamente nada negativo. Recomiendo el lugar a todos aquellos que quieran escapar de la ciudad unos días, estar tranquilos, en plena naturaleza y bien atendidos. Las cenas fueron sencillas pero muy buenas, siquiera esperábamos que tuviesen carta pero aunque corta es variada y de buena calidad. El confort de la habitación fue sencillamente estupendo: muy limpio y confortable. Y aunque debido al tiempo no pudimos disfrutar mucho de las instalaciones, tienen piscina, terraza, bar, chimenea en el comedor... No se les puede pedir más por el precio que ofrecen. Además todo está cuidado y decorado con sencillez y mimo. Enhorabuena a su propietario (Philip) y a su personal (Isa). Incluso su cachorro de pastor alemán es encantador y cariñoso.
