Sercotel Monasterio San Miguel is in an 18th-century monastery in the center of El Puerto de Santa Maria, just half a mile from the beach. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout the building. The building maintains many original features, including its cloisters and an Andalusian-style enclosed patio. Its air conditioned rooms have simple, classic décor and satellite TV. The charming Las Bóvedas Restaurant serves a selection of traditional Spanish cuisine and overlooks the San Miguel’s attractive grounds. Las Capuchinas cafe offers lighter cuisine and tapas dishes. The Monesterio San Miguel is located next to the Ribera del Marisco district and El Puerto’s historic quarter. The middle of Jerez is a 10-minute drive away and Cádiz is approximately 6 miles from the hotel. Hotel Rooms: 165

I would like to remark the excellent location just downtown, close to everything, and a remarkable, kind and very professional staff. It has been a pleasure to stay there. room too warm

Fabulous setting-the public rooms, furniture, paintings and courtyards are wonderful -like a 5 star hotel-very grand and beautiful and well kept.. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. Very nice bathroom. The room was a little small and 'corporate' . The first room we went to smelled of smoke but they did change it without too much fuss.

Excellent atmospheric hotel, beautiful room & decor. Staff were friendly & very helpful. Good choice at breakfast. Can't fault the hotel but the actual town doesn't have much to offer.

Excellent service, pleasant staff, beautiful location and building. A poor allocation of room( 217) very noisy as next to the lift shaft we were relocated at 1.30am to another room which was better. The other room was on the road side of the building and was noisy from traffic noise. It would be worth checking with the hotel which are the quieter rooms.

El Puerto de Santa Maria is a pretty nondescript Spanish port with no great attractions. The great thing about it is that its restaurants serve some of the best seafood in Spain and there is a regular and cheap catarmaran service across the bay to Cadiz.(El Vaporcito, the little steamer, sank a couple of weeks ago unfortunately). We got a great 'book early, pay up front' deal on the hotel. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the rooms comfortable and clean. The receptionist recommended a small, scruffy restaurant in the port that we wouldn't normally have gone near, glad we did as the food was superb and amazingly cheap for the quality.

Exceeded expectations. Immaculate and classy restoration. Very comfortable large twin room. Professional staff. Excellent breakfast. Courtesy bus to the beach (a smiling happy driver). This is how a 4-star hotel should be run! And just 10-15 minutes walk from the railway station.

Hotel Monasterio San Miguel is a beautiful place, everyone who likes historical buildings will love its magic atmosphere The breakfast was very good, with many options. Parking under the hotel costs 13 Euro per night, what is quite a lot, but unfortunately common in this area. I would definitely recommend this hotel, we were impressed by the building!!

Excellent value for money. Good location for town and train station. Staff helpful when asked specific questions. Beautiful hotel with many historical features and interesting old pictures of the town. Excellent breakfast. Good cafe with tapas and drinks. Had to pay for internet access which is a little petty in a hotel of this type. Little information in the room about the hotel and facilities.

We got excellent value for money as we stayed the week after the annual Feria when the town is very quiet. We had a large room which was well appointed with seperate lounge. Excellent buffet breakfast, served until a very civilised 11.00am was included in our rate. As with many Spanish hotels - double bedded rooms are not the norm.

No volvería

“This wonderful hotel was one of the best parts of our stay in Spain. We stayed during the MotoGP race which was a crazy time with thousands of people coming to the area and motorcyclists everywhere. The Palacio San Bartolome was a beautiful oasis! The staff was so very gracious and accommodating and Carlos, the owner, is a fabulous host. The hotel was only opened about 6 months ago and everything has been beautifully done. This small, intimate hotel is really a gem and we are looking forward to when we can return to stay with Carlos again.” Michelle, Conifer |
