Hotel Medium Monegal  

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is strategically positioned in the very heart of the city.

The location is fantastic, left at the top of La Rambla (next to McDonalds!). The staff were very friendly. I had read the other reviews prior to my visit and yes, the lift is slow but it didn't worry us. The lack of a bigger reception area was sometimes a problem if there were a lot of people trying to check in/out but again, it was not a major problem. It was cheap and cheerful and very convenient and we would use the hotel again. The room was quite small but we were only in it to sleep so it was no problem at all.

The only slight problem we had was, as we had left our luggage on the last day (we had a late flight), the very helpful staff let us take our cases up to the lounge area to sort the cases out and use the bathroom. The bathroom wasn't very clean, especially the toilet and I certainly wouldn't have used the shower. Still we had the use of it and we were very grateful for somewhere to 'chill' for half an hour before leaving for the airport. It was just a slight negative.

It is extremely nice in location, easy reachable from airport, and public transport at its footstep.

Very slow lift. Poor breakfast with limited choices. They charged me breakfast even when I left the hotel before their too late (7.30 am) openning without taking breakfast!!! They owe me many meals' value!!

Excellent location on Pl. de Catalunya, all buses stop there including airport bus. The staff were very friendly and efficient We enjoyed a good breakfast We felt very secure.

The only things we missed were teamaking facilities in our room and a comfortable chair to sit in at the end of a busy day

The location is excellent. Good price, enough room size, very close to Metro and some sightseeing point. The staff are very kind and friendly

One night stay was good. Close to Ramblas and accessible for airport bus and metro. Excellent staff. Would use again!

The location

Very limited facilities, and old decorations the lift is extremely slow (even slower than walk...) the staff is not helpful... The price is much higher than it worths...

The staff were very friendly and they spoke English. Restaurants are close by and the ramblas is just a step away. Plaza catalunya can be soon from the balcony. I recommend anyone to stay at monegal.

The only thing good about this hotel is it's central location at one of barcelona most vibrant area's.

I think this hotel should be down grade from a two star hotel to a one star hotel. the staff are very unfreindly and only smile when you show them Euro's.instead of getting a double sized room,with a double sized bed we got a small room with two single sized beds which we had to join together.for the price we paid i know we didn't get money for value at this hotel.please if your going to barcelona then this is one place that you should avoid.we where also dumb enough to include breakfast with our package which was shocking as there was only bread,coffee a little cereal and cheese and ham if your lucky depending on the bossy breakfast servant mood.

Location. We can spend the day and night only to watch the activities in La Rambla and Plaça Catalunya, they place us in the 3rd floor and the location of the room is perfect with the balcony. Room was clean and overall we enjoyed our stay.

We're surprised because the hotel shared the entrance hall with a watch store and the elevator was very small. Good thing was the receptionist still nice although they have to stay in a very small space. It's ironic because they are the nicest from all the hotel receptionists during our stay in Spain.

It's a great location.

The photos are deceptive. The breakfast has very little selection. It is better to eat outside.
