Hotel Al Andalus can be found just 220 yards from the famous Caves of Nerja. It has free Wi-Fi and a swimming pool. The rooms in the Hotel Al-Andalus are spacious and light.
Score from 188 reviews Good
The rooms were spotlessly clean, staff all very friendly and obliging, and the meals excellent. The facilities were good, and although some of the furnishings in the room were a little 'knocked about', redecoration was in progress.
Our only criticism, visiting in February, was that there was no heating in the public areas [lounge, bar, dining room] and it was cold.
The shower either too cold or too hot, very poor heating in room, armchair very stained
The price but I guess it proves you get what you pay for.
On arrival at just after midnight we asked if we could get a drink to be told that the bar was closed. We asked if we could take a bottle of wine up to the room which was also refused. When we got to the room we saw that the bar was supposed to be open until 1am. After making a fuss they reluctantly let me take a bottle of wine to the room. On the Saturday evening there was no hot water. Thinking it was a blip we made do with cold showers (very unpleasant) but found there was still none on Sunday morning. When I complained I was simply told 'yes we have a problem but it's been fixed'. It would have been nice if they had communicated this to everyone. I was offered a room to have a shower in another part of the hotel but was assured the problem was fixed. No hot water Sunday night or Monday morning. They offered €40 compensation (after I asked if they were going to charge me full price for my stay). I accept that problems happen but I think the way it was dealt with was appalling. I will never stay there again.
The pool in the spa was to cold plus the changing rooms
hearing people in the rooms both sides talking and and snorring the walls are to thin no privicy in the room.
There wasn't an awful lot to dislike actually! A great little hotel with good food and a gorgeous pool and terrace! We have travelled on motorbikes to Gibraltar and back and have stayed it top notch 5 star hotels and I have to say this hotel was very good!
Road side room so lots of traffic woke us up quite early.
The staff and management were very helpful, friendly and went out of there way to support us when my wife had an accident,we cannot thank them enough
The food was good and it is in an excellent position. Comfortable seating. Good pool and was very clean.
Although there was a good variety at Breakfast, the hot cooked food was warm at best and went cold almost immediately. Bedroom had no tea and coffee facilities . Not much choice on TV in lounge area.
Overall cleanliness. Bar snacks. Entertainment and the spaciousness of the sun terrace and lounges.
Our room 204 we think was immediately over the sauna and fitness suite. Water could be heard running at night and the room temperature was very hot and could not be controlled by the air conditioning. I spoke to reception but was told it could not be altered. Bathroom was not well attended. The bath is difficult and dangerous to get in and out whilst taking a shower. Tissues ran out after the first day and not replenished. The restaurant had a wide selection for breakfast but the quality was not good especially with regards to coffee and fruit juices.
The staff were nice location bit out as you have get taxi coming back from town as it's uphill
Breakfast and dinner could be better but hay it's still value for money
Wifi-Happy hour-cleanliness- great welcome & staff very friendly & helpful
Food was average, booked spa for 1hr (pool freezing, jacuzzi freezing, suna out of order, only one shower working)
This hotel has really friendly staff. The matress on the beds were a little hard but speaking to staff an extra blanket underneath made them more comfortable. Food was good and part of our package allowed us free spa sessions. The hydro pool however was not working nor the directional shower but we used the jacuzzi each day. Our room had good views over Nerja so overall a good experience.
Bed mattress a little hard
Decent room and bathroom which was cleaned top to bottom each day. Very quiet location although we were on the side but not a lot of noise. Staff very helpful and we always had a pleasant greeting and smile.
beds in our opinion were hard, we asked for a double but got a twin. Although the range was good the breakfast buffet menu items were a bit on the cheap side but no limits on what you could have however.
It is excellent value for money. The food was even better than it was in April. We will be back for sure.
Everything. The staff are so kind and welcoming. Everyone goes out of their way to make your stay as great as possible. Fabulous little hotel.
Nothing to dislike xxx
We have stayed at the nerja club lots of times and think its a great little hotel and will go back plenty more.
Staff were friendly and helpfull, WIFI was available in almost all areas and free. Location is good for travel in and out of Nerja. Food is good if a little pricey for area but saves the walk into town.
Beds are not the most comfortable and if your in the rooms under the pool deck every noise seems to be amplified.
The rooms are long over due a serious make over, very disopoited and won't re visit
Cleanliness, Pool area, Staff and Location
Beds too hard, Food not really up to standard.
Rooms look very nice and modern.
Room was very noisy due to the street. I think the window didn't close completely as we could hear even the tennis matches from the court over the street. Rooms facing the pool may be quiet, but there is animation in the evening. Also we heared conversations of other people in the hotel. Bathroom needs a renovation, mounting of shower head was very loose, damage of bathtub. Our toilet stopped working in the night, they could only fix it the next morning. Didn't help us much as we were there only for one night. Hotel didn't reply to emails and didn't consider any of the wishes in the booking.
Tired basic hotel, could't get use of FREE spa, pool area and rooms over run with flys, noisiest air conditioning ever used could hear this in the rooms above and around. No hair dryer in room in this day no one takes hair dryers
Pretty much everything. Staff were efficient & polite. We had to move rooms (before we had even unpacked so no problem doing so) because of a water leak in the room above, but it was done with the minimum of fuss and a free bottle of wine was waiting in the new room. There is loads of space to relax in the hotel and around the pool. The town is a 15 minute walk through shopping streets. Good choice for breakfast. Will stay there again.
No Wi-FI in the room. I have to say that this is the norm wherever we stay and it is unacceptable.
The view from the hotel was lovely. It is perched on a hill above the beach.
The hotel was very tired and filled with seniors on tour buses. We are in our late 50's and felt like we were in a retirement home. Beds were awful, air-conditioning was a swamp cooler, very noisy. Food for breakfast was just ok. Would not go back.
Level of service , very clean and good value for money
Position of our room adjacent the pool area.
Good value and location
Small room and poor quality beds
