This beautiful palace building is in the heart of Burgos, by the Arlanzón River and across from the cathedral. It has a sauna and fitness center. All rooms in the NH Palacio de la Merced offer satellite TV and video games. Wi-Fi is available for an extra fee. The NH Palacio occupies a 16th-Century building with a cloister. It combines natural materials with modern design. Modern art is on display in rooms and public lounges. The elegant restaurant offers international and regional cuisine, along with a wide variety of wine and champagne. The Palacio de la Merced is a short walk from the Plaza Mayor. There are 2 large parks nearby. Las Huelgas Monastery, the Bullring and the Burgos Museum are all within minutes. Hotel Rooms: 110, Hotel Chain: NH Hoteles.

The hotel invested a lot by buying a former chuch/convent and reinventing it as an ultra-modern facility. It looks great, very chic, and is perfectly located across from the main entrance to the "old city" of Burgos. The breakfast was very good altho as I recall, the Amer coffee was pretty murky stuff. The worst that I can say is that the lighting in the room was very poor-- too dark. It made a beautifully decorated room quite gloomy. Forget reading, which is what you do because the only English on the tv is msnbc or cnn and after awhile... It was Sunday when we stayed there and while there was some snacks available at the bar, eating in the lobby is less than desirable. Wish there was regular food service, but we found an unbelievable restaurant [La Landa] instead so it worked out.

Excellent location, integral secure car park. Very good breakfast. Staff marked down as ' fair ' because there were not enough front of house people to help with baggage etc. This may be because the hotel was quiet and it was a public holiday.

The room was very comfortable. The bathroom had nice facilities. The location was perfect, just across the river from the cathedral. No internet in the room and the wifi in the lobby was not working. This made it difficult to plan the next leg of our journey.

I enjoyed my short stay at this hotel. It was ideally sited close to all the historic places the city offers as well as the maze of side streets and plazas. The facilities were of a high standard and the underground hotel carpark was a useful and convenient asset.

The hotel was beautiful and the location excellent. The rooms were not huge but were well appointed. Breakfast was unusual and good. The waiting staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful. The reception staff. They were rude, unprofessional and utterly unhelpful in response to a problem with our booking.

Position for access to Burgos city centre and other sites and the helpfulness of the staff. Wifi in the lobby as well. Lack of activity in the restaurant in the evening of our stay and the fact that the parking at the hotel had to paid for despite a large underground car park.

Excellent rooms and location. Had problems finding the hotel (by car). The hotel is poorly signposted from the west and the historic facade does not have an obvious hotel name sign visible from near by street level.

Location perfect, five minutes walk to old town, beautifully restored ancient building, and quiet. Free gym and sauna. Easy to find and park, but see dislikes..... Car park under hotel and secure, but 18.50 euros a day. Breakfast also expense-account price, but a couple of good bars round the corner provide a better and much more economical alternative. Beware of room numbers ending ..10: they are adapted for disabled, and our toilet was high and uncomfortable to use.

Great location for visiting Burgos city centre, only a couple of minutes walk to the main tourist attractions. Comfortable clean room & a really good choice of breakfast. Parking at the hotel was quite expensive

La ubicación, tan cerca de la Catedral, y a la vez bien situado para entrar y salir de Burgos en coche. Facilidad para aparcar en las cercanías del hotel sin necesidad de contratar parking. Las habitaciones muy amplias y bien separadas las zonas de baño y de descanso. La gracia de estar en un palacio cautivo al pequeño. El horario y los precios del desayuno, la verdad es que merece la pena desayunar en la cafeteria que hay justo al lado del hotel y que tiene una ambientación cinematográfica muy bien conseguida

Ubicación, muy próximo a la catedral y al centro de la ciudad. El aparcamiento del hotel es caro. Vale la pena dar un par de vueltas por las calles próximas o aparcar en la zona de carga y descarga frente al edificio si se llega después de las 20:00 horas. Sólo permite conexión gratuita durante 30 minutos y desde las zonas comunes lo que parece algo cutre, sobre todo si lo comparamos con otros hoteles, de semejantes características, en los que la conexión era ilimitada y por supuesto, se podía realizar desde la misma habitación.

Buena localización, en el mismo centro. Habitación espaciosa y con buen aislamiento, parking en el hotel, aunque el precio va aparte, instalaciones con buen nivel de silencio. En resumen un buen hotel céntrico, con una relación calidad-precio muy buena, pero atención no todos los días, seleccionar fechas adecuadamente. Es mejorable la iluminación de la habitación. Debería sustituirse el viejo televisor, que además sintoniza mal algunas cadenas, por un nuevo modelo de pantalla plana. Algunos muebles de la habitación mejorables

La situación excelente y la comodidad de la habitación. El sistema de wifi es complejo e ineficiente y la televisión no se ve bien. No responde al resto de servicios del hotel.
