I upgraded my room to a suite. I'm please that I did because it was basically a newly renovated apartment. Very clean and great design.
Only one English language channel (BBC). I know it's Spain so I'd expect the channels to be in Spanish...but there seemed to be lots for Russian ones, so it would have been good to have a few more English language options.
Affordable and comfortable enough
Lighting in the room is too dim. Room service staff barely speaks english, which makes it hard to communicate.
Lovely hotel, very helpful and friendly staff. We spoke with the chef when ordering food from room service and he delivered it to us personally. A really nice touch. Quite a good location, close to metro and buses.
The bath and shower were not very accessible as one end of the bath was set in a recess. Also the water temp of the shower was not stable....hot then cold every few seconds.
The location, cleanliness and comfort within the hotel were very good.
It would have been good if room service was available longer into the evening as I returned back from the match later on.
-asked for a quiet room in the booking form and got the room next to a very noisy elevator. Got another room after complaining -not even all reception personel spoke english
the beakfast is very good and people who works there are very good too
that i had yo leave the room at 12 o 'clock in the evening and my plane leaved at 12 o' clock at night
Nice, quiet location, less than 500m away from the Natural Science Museum and one of the largest Madrid department stores. Quiet, clean room. Helpful staff. Garage available on the premises. About 2km from Museo del Prado and B.-Thyssen.
Breakfast taken on another building. Although only some 30m away, in bad weather it can be bothersome.
Location, staff, value. Food is great.
elevator is quite small, as all the rest in europe.
Room was spacious and well equipped, with a comfortable bed. Minibar not expensive, breakfast has a very good selection, and staff are efficient and courteous. The hotel was also very clean during my stay.
My wife and I always stay at the Hotel as it is a great location in that part of Madrid. The quality of breakfast is excellent and the overall experience is very good.I was surprised by the changes after the refurbishment which at first was a shock but the the place looks brighter and fresher.
The only problem we had this year was that I had asked for a special rate due to being a regular client and after sending two e-mails requesting a special rate, I then had to telephone the reception desk and finally a reduced rate was agreed.
the old decoration and very very slow room service reply. I had to give up ro service and go and eat outside the HotelNH...
Good location, quiet neigjborhood, helpful staff.
Room in need of an update. Exposed wiring of wall lamps. too few available outlets (none at bedside for sleep devices). Imagine that this building will be closed for renovation once the first building is completed.
Arrived on an red eye flight and got to the hotel at 8am, they accommodated me with early checkin. Room was clean, well-laid out, bathroom was new, bed was comfortable Complimentary breakfast was impressive - I overslept so had to eat very quickly but was a great spread of fruit, pastries, yogurt, etc.
nothing. Had a great stay
Solid location, central
Room was small, but bathroom - bathtub - tiny...
the free upgrade to a (great) superior room offered by the incheck clerck and the fabulous breakfast.
Can't think of anything
The hotel is an excellent value for money, not very long walking distance to Serrano shopping street and plaza Chamberi. Taxi to the center costs cca 10 euros. Room clean and quiet. When in Spain, we always eat breakfast outside, in a typical cafeteria, so I don't have any comments on the hotel's breakfast.
Some of the furniture is very old and shabby.
The location is a little bit far from city center but very peace and quiet and the Metro is very closed to the hotel, a carrefour express near is very convenient!
Good connection to the city centre. Spacious room.
The people at the reception were kinda rude and not very helpful. Also their english wasn't good at all.
- Confortable room - Excellent breakfast
- Room was at the corner and had almost no natural light; - Needed to pick up every 24h new internet credentials for my devices to be able to connect
Location is great, very close to Gregorio Maranion metro station. Room was small but functional. Breakfast was excellent.
Good location. Enough equipement. Most of the staff were good and helped us when needed, others treated us not properly.
We had several problems: An old water leak so old that the wood in the sides of the floor is rotten and they didn't inform us about. They change us to another room. The rooms in the facade are not that quiet luckly during night is quiet outside. The heating was broken and the response was that it will be hotter next week and use blankets! I have never seen such bad response. But they gave us a portable heater fan only sfter requesting it. The bathub was not safely located. Toilet had problems to flush. We don't recommend to go. I would prefer a hostel.
Close to metro station.
The hotel furnitures and appliances looks like at least 10-15 years old. There are 2 buildings: the restaurant is at Zurbano 81. If you live at Zurbano 79, you will have to go to the other building for breakfast.
bad food dinner and breakfast, very outdated hotel, not very clean, wifi didnt work, avoid this place!!!
A good hotel in the Chamberí district of Madrid. Good value for money. The metro station "Gregorio Marañón" is just 5 minutes away, a walk to the city centre takes around 30 minutes. My single room was small, but functional and clean. As usual with NH hotels, the breakfast buffet was excellent.
The free internet is rather slow.
