Hotel Nouvel  

Excellent location, easy to find and close to everything. Comfortable and quiet room. Good bathroom and scrupulously clean everywhere.

The hotel was superb; the reception staff were extremely helpful finding out information about the French air strike for us, and booking all our trips. The room was clean, comfortable and a good size.

There was nothing about the hotel that we didn't like.

Very convenient for city centre shopping and sight-seeing. Quiet despite central location. Easy access for Airport bus transfer.

Room rather small but adequate for short stay.

-HARD bed matress -BORING rooms decoration -the reception should be more friendly and the waiting area should be turned into a nice bar serving b/fast and drinks all day long for the hotel guests

The hotel is in a superb location just 50 yds from La Rambla and 100 yds from Place de Catalunya where the aerobus stops from the airport. The room was a good size and was clean. It was very quiet in the main (see neg points) and provided us with a great base to visit the city. We didn't eat there but had breakfast in a cafe 2 doors away which was very good. The street is well used so you never feel vulnerable when walking back there in the night. All in all, an excellent base.

The only negative I have is that there is no sound-proofing in the bathrooms and, as the rooms appear to take the form of inter-linking L shapes, when a neighbour uses the bathroom, they sound as if they're using yours. That's not so bad but having someone with a chronic smoker's cough scrape their lungs into the toilet bowl for an hour at 6am isn't pleasant! They only stayed 2 nights thankfully!

Great location just yards off La Rambla, close to both a Metro station and the Aerobus. Daytime staff in particularly was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable.

The room was small, but we expected as much,and spend little time in it. It would though have gotten claustrophobic if we'd had to spend more waking hours in it. 2 minor irks - the soap was unusually small even for a budget hotel and the used drinking glasses should have been replaced with clean ones.

The hotels street was off La Ramba close to all the shops, bars, metro and airport bus.

It didn't have wifi

The staff were excellent - friendly, helpful etc. Excellent location.

The breakfast is not up to scratch - one choice of juice, only white bread, no high fibre cereals, tasteless scrambled eggs and so on. If people intend staying there we would recommend eating out which is a pity because apart from the above it is good value for money.

Location was fantastic, few mins walk from Plaza Catalunya (where all the buses come and go from, inc Airport bus) right next to La Rambla. Great welcome at the hotel, as this was our first trip to Barcelona were given lots of info about tours etc. Also somewhere to leave cases if you arrive early or leaving later in the day.

Cannot think of anything I didn't like about the hotel.

Excellent location on a traffic free street half a block from La Rambla and Plaza Catalunya. Very modern and clean bathroom. Friendly staff.

Location, location, location! Besides this... The staff are welcoming and helpful, the building has old-world charm and warmth rather than the minimalist design of some other hotels, and prices are competitive.

We did not like the fact that one had to pay for additional items such as wifi or that the use of the safe required a deposit.

Friendly staff very helpful and perfect location good food and normal prices,we recommend this hotel and Thank you to all reception staff for the polite attitude.

Our second stay at Hotel Nouvel, and we will continue to book here on future visits to Barcelona. Hotel staff are very friendly, very helpful, and more than glad to assist in any way possible. Rooms and common areas are very clean and in good order. Location can't be beat -- a small side street off Las Ramblas -- allows for peace and quiet, and a restful nights' sleep. Thanks Hotel Nouvel! Location: nearby Placa Catalunya and still in a quiet street, even on Saturday night we did not hear any noise.

No space to hang wet clothes for drying after walking throught the rain. Wool blankets. Wool blankets instead of duvet. No free internet, not even in the lobby.

I prefer duvets in stead of sheets and blankets.

The location was great, just off La Rambla and two minute walk to Plaza Catalunya.

The bed was pretty uncomfortable, it was difficult to get a proper night's sleep.

Centrally located close to Ramblas . Staff courteous and friendly. I would stay there again and recommend it for someone seeking a middle rate hotel in the center of Barcelona

Location, location and staff especially MANUEL, he was so helpful, kind and always a smile on his face. I really like the " old world" eighteen century architecture and the ambience....our room had beautiful tall pocket doors going out to our little balcony. Thankfully we were 30-50 meters off the rambla, which was always busy. Street noise was never a problem for us. The BEST shower of all the many places we have stayed. Lots of pressure and hot water! The beds were very firm but we adjusted and never loss any sleep over it. Lots of charm and we would stay there again.

Really nothing , the staff was always ready to please. We did not turn on the TV but you were required to put deposit for remote and we had to pay for WiFi.

1) Thought there would be wi-fi computer in lobby. 2) Not very confortable bed. 3)Had to leave a 20 euro deposit for the tv remote. 4)No washclothes. 5)No tissues.
