The Olimpo hotel is in a lovely location overlooking a fantastic sandy beach. There is a very small beach by the hotel itself, but you can normally then wade across a shallow stream to the main expansive beach. The grounds surrounding the hotel are nicely planted and pleasant to walk around, with a short path leading down to the beach. The rooms were clean and well furnished with nice balconies overlooking the beach. Breakfasts were very good with a wide selection of hot and cold choices, but we found the main restaurant had a somewhat limited menu and was rather expensive. However, the hotel has a cafe which also offers food throughout the day and evening and may suit many people better, although the entertainment later in the evening was rather loud. The swimming pool was uncrowded. I would definitely consider staying here again if returning to the area.

We found the main restaurant had a somewhat "limited" menu and was rather expensive.

We were intending to stay 1 night at the Olimpo but due to our delayed ferry arriving in the early hours of the morning, we opted for 2 nights. A really good decision! The quiet location is superb for the beach, but watch out for the incoming tide quickly filling the inlet as this could delay your easy return access to the hotel from the beach. However, you can elect to stay on the hotel side of the inlet with no such issues. We found the staff polite and most helpful and we had a particular favourite in the evening restaurant with the young female waitress who was most efficient and provided some useful hints for our continuing journey.

Arriving in the dark early hours we found the hotel difficult to locate. More detailed directional information would be invaluable.

    Good location. Bar staff friendly.

Reception staff were unfriendly. Rated a 4* hotel but was only delivering a 3*. No hot water in the mornings.

    Location and staff

Quality of the room: it was less than basic; in addition the ac was not cooling... This was not acceptable for the rates charged by this hotel
