knowledgable and helpful staff.
Hotel in a great location, staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was very big and comfortable.
A hotel with some typical apartments decorated in the style of Andalucia, beautiful and the bedroom was very quiet at night. The situation of it is the feet of the Albaicín, near to the Plaza Nueva. It is not difficult to carry up the heavy luggage for reaching there.
The wifi some time is not very good.
Staff was very helpful
Noisy plumbing. Breakfast
Lovely hotel. Helpful staff. Excellent location and great value.
More pillows in room. The hotel happily provided extra pillows when we asked.
Situated in an interesting historical building with a nice decor. Superb location: situated centrally in between the albaycin quarter and the city centre. Very quiet rooms.Great breakfast: just the right amount of choise and good quality products.
You have to clib a few steps to get to the front door, so the taxi can't get right to the front door. There is also a few stairs in the hotell. In other words it can be tricky for people with reduced capacity to walk.
Immense satisfaction of spending time in a historical place, renovated to modern standards, but still saving the charm of old.
location, friendliness of staff, history of hotel, views, friendliness of staff (again),
couldn't stay longer
It's clean, comfortable, modern but with classic Spanish courtyard. I've never had such a gorgeous hotel view before- two big windows looking out over tiled rooftops and Alhambra jutting up above everything. The bathroom was really nice- good shower and every corner was clean. The main bed area and desk was updated. We slept SO well. The location is perfect for strolling around. You're right in the cute Albayzin neighborhood, just a half-block from the river walk area. About 2 minutes away is the Arab baths. About a 15 minute walk down from the Alhambra. Wonderful visit.
The windows are all double-windows (inner and outer). Our outer window didn't close FULLY so there was a small gap. The hotel sent a guy to fix it but he couldn't get it closed either. No big deal, given that we still had the inner dual-paned window closed.
The location, the structure of the building, our view from the window directly onto the Alhambra, the generally helpful staff.
The small size of the room, the tight arrangement of the bathroom, the freezing breakfast room, the tight buffet arrangement and medium quality of the breakfast - for the price of this hotel I did expect better.
Perfectly situated, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
The blanket in bed, would prefer a duvet to keep me warm and it would feel much more clean. All Southern Spain seem to use these awful blankets.
General decoration is beautiful. Reception friendly and helpful. Awesome view of the Alhambra.
The room was extremely small. The door touches the bed when open making it difficult to get in and out especially with luggage. Bed too soft and tiny for 2 people. Room furniture shoddy and worn in contrast to the furniture in common areas. Our room looked nothing like the photos on the website. Shower tiny. We may have just been unlucky in our room. Poor breakfast selection and very slow to replace items.
Nice big rooms. Breakfast decent, location excellent, furnishings worn but comfortable. It was fine for a family vacation.
I paid extra for a view of the Alhambra but if I craned my neck out of the corner of the window I could barely make it out. Lots of street noise of people partying.
Location was good to Most tourist spots. Building was a beautifully restored heritage building.
Some staff were particularly good - esp the lady at the front desk. Staff at the restaurant/clean-up staff were not so nice. We requested room with the Alhambra view - but re hotel did not inform us that we could not get or request. If they had told us that it was impossible, we would have changed to another hotel. The hotel should get back to the customer on their requests and not wait to tell the customer only upon their arrival and leave the customer with no choice but to accept whatever is given. We sent in our request few days before, they had plenty if time to revert in whether thy had the room with a view or not but they did not inform me. That was disappointing.
Other people's water usage could be heard in our room.
Helpful staff, building, lovely cafe below for breakfast,
Free afternoon coffee was awful
Good location and friendly staff.nice breakfast.
We stayed in the hotel just 1 night, hotel is clean, the view is nice facing alhambra..the location of the hotel is close to center and also nearby restaurants n square...very very very helpful staff n friendly..the staff who was on shift the night we came was very2 helpful, we cannot thank her enough..thank you for the wonderful stay..we hope to come back again
A nice hotel within easy access of the Alhambra, (C3 bus to get there quickly, or a taxi - about 5 euros, and enjoy the walk back down, which comes out very close to the hotel), situated in the Albayzin area of Granada. Well placed for a walk up to Mirador San Nicolas for a fantastic view over Granada, to watch the sun set over the Alhambra, sitting in an outside bar, perched on the hill. The hotel staff all seemed to speak very good english and were very helpful and informative. The room was spacious, and we had booked a room with a view of the Alhambra, but we did have to look sideways out of the window to enjoy it! Decent beds, endless hot water and very quiet. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on it. (Husband gluten free so continental breakfasts a waste of time. Having said that there seems to be an extremely good awareness of gluten free food in Spain, and we've come across menus which mark items gluten free. A miracle for those having to deal with avoiding it - tapas a nightmare!)
Our room was clean but seemed a bit dusty & I think the net curtains need a freshen up. Maybe it hadn't been used recently? Our bathroom was big so it was strange to have to stand very close to the side of the toilet to use the basin.
Rosa and her colleagues were extremely kind since our arrival with the best tips and suggestions. The rooms we had were comfortable indeed. Suggestion: don't trust gps and contact the hotel for the best directions which will avoid the very narrow and scary streets marked in the gps
Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, with excellent English who 'read' the guests well and give good recommendations based on that. Excellent breakfast. Big room - and dressing room - and comfortable beds; excellent cleanliness. Furnishings a little dated, but kept in good condition great 80's contemporary art collection.
Can't think of anything
Fantastic view of the Alambra from the bed. Excellent breakfast for Spanish standards. Friendly and helpful staff Excellent location
I loved this hotel - the historic charm, the helpful front desk, the location right by the romantic river Daro for evening strolling. Fun restaurant/bar right on the same block (where cuesta de santa Inez meets the river) where you could dine on tapas and look up at the lighted Alhambra. (Felt comfortable at this small restaurant when solo - dined outside and enjoyed people watching.) Hotel located where you could "climb" the stairs and alleys leading up to Plaza San Nicholas for a breathtaking view (esp at sunset) and vendors for beautiful jewelry. I had to move to the huge Melia because of our daughter's school group staying there.... But I much prefer the small authenticity and historic charm of this type of hotel when traveling in Europe. (Though the room and bathroom were small - as I expected.) I was solo but felt safe walking around the hotel at night. Nice having bbc and a bbc movie channel for English tv stations.
Room a little too warm - had to keep opening window to cool down, which makes it a little loud at night. But this was minor! Slept very well!
This hotel is very special,an old palace with beautiful rooms. The staff were superb,so friendly & helpful. The location is excellent for The Alhambra, wonderful tapas bars & many shops.yet also so peaceful & quiet.will be staying again in the future,it is a Gem.
