Helpful staff, building, lovely cafe below for breakfast,
Free afternoon coffee was awful
Good location and friendly staff.nice breakfast.
We stayed in the hotel just 1 night, hotel is clean, the view is nice facing alhambra..the location of the hotel is close to center and also nearby restaurants n square...very very very helpful staff n friendly..the staff who was on shift the night we came was very2 helpful, we cannot thank her enough..thank you for the wonderful stay..we hope to come back again
A nice hotel within easy access of the Alhambra, (C3 bus to get there quickly, or a taxi - about 5 euros, and enjoy the walk back down, which comes out very close to the hotel), situated in the Albayzin area of Granada. Well placed for a walk up to Mirador San Nicolas for a fantastic view over Granada, to watch the sun set over the Alhambra, sitting in an outside bar, perched on the hill. The hotel staff all seemed to speak very good english and were very helpful and informative. The room was spacious, and we had booked a room with a view of the Alhambra, but we did have to look sideways out of the window to enjoy it! Decent beds, endless hot water and very quiet. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on it. (Husband gluten free so continental breakfasts a waste of time. Having said that there seems to be an extremely good awareness of gluten free food in Spain, and we've come across menus which mark items gluten free. A miracle for those having to deal with avoiding it - tapas a nightmare!)
Our room was clean but seemed a bit dusty & I think the net curtains need a freshen up. Maybe it hadn't been used recently? Our bathroom was big so it was strange to have to stand very close to the side of the toilet to use the basin.
Rosa and her colleagues were extremely kind since our arrival with the best tips and suggestions. The rooms we had were comfortable indeed. Suggestion: don't trust gps and contact the hotel for the best directions which will avoid the very narrow and scary streets marked in the gps
Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, with excellent English who 'read' the guests well and give good recommendations based on that. Excellent breakfast. Big room - and dressing room - and comfortable beds; excellent cleanliness. Furnishings a little dated, but kept in good condition great 80's contemporary art collection.
Can't think of anything
Fantastic view of the Alambra from the bed. Excellent breakfast for Spanish standards. Friendly and helpful staff Excellent location
I loved this hotel - the historic charm, the helpful front desk, the location right by the romantic river Daro for evening strolling. Fun restaurant/bar right on the same block (where cuesta de santa Inez meets the river) where you could dine on tapas and look up at the lighted Alhambra. (Felt comfortable at this small restaurant when solo - dined outside and enjoyed people watching.) Hotel located where you could "climb" the stairs and alleys leading up to Plaza San Nicholas for a breathtaking view (esp at sunset) and vendors for beautiful jewelry. I had to move to the huge Melia because of our daughter's school group staying there.... But I much prefer the small authenticity and historic charm of this type of hotel when traveling in Europe. (Though the room and bathroom were small - as I expected.) I was solo but felt safe walking around the hotel at night. Nice having bbc and a bbc movie channel for English tv stations.
Room a little too warm - had to keep opening window to cool down, which makes it a little loud at night. But this was minor! Slept very well!
This hotel is very special,an old palace with beautiful rooms. The staff were superb,so friendly & helpful. The location is excellent for The Alhambra, wonderful tapas bars & many shops.yet also so peaceful & quiet.will be staying again in the future,it is a Gem.
Location, comfort, atmosphere
We satyed in family room with young children, family room had a quite dangreous stairs to the upper room. Definitely not suitable for children.
The view of the Alhambra was my favorite part, so I definitely recommend getting a room with a view! The location is perfect because it's a short walk to the Hammam Al Andalus (check it out!), tapas restaurants, and the Plaza Nueva where you can catch the bus to the main tourist attractions. But, it's also in a beautiful and intimate neighborhood. The staff was also super helpful in securing tickets to the Alhambra and a flamenco show last minute.
Breakfast was not that great but it's very convenient. Also the elevator was not working for a day or two, but thankfully it was not when we had to move our luggage in or out!
This quaint hotel was located at the base of the Alhambra within easy reach of the bus that takes you directly to the Alhambra. The ample breakfast was a bargin! Thanks!
Steps were a little awkward.
Being able to book a special room with magical views of the Alhambra and a private balcony. Highly recommended!
Nothing negative to say.
Comfortable Bed Pillow Menu Good Breakfast Near to the centre Parking arrangements Very interesting building
Bit cold at breakfast as they keep the main door open Plenty of opportunities to bang your head on doorframes
room was cold--some of the towels very thin--the shower screen wasn't at same end of the bath as the showerhead so had to hold it in hand whilst showering!
Great location within walking distance to Alhambra and restaurants. Our room had a view of the Alhambra!
The room was a bit small with no good place to put personal items.
The entire back of the hotel strongly smelled of mold. We couldn't wait to leave.
The location of the hotel was great for walking in the old Arab Quarter and it was easy to get to the Alhambra either on foot or on the bus. Staying in ann old, well-preserved, building was a part of the whole experience of our visit to Granada. The reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.
The only difficulty we had was parking our car in the nominated parking lot in the city centre, but once we had worked it out it was OK and the hotel discounted the parking fees.
Lovely hotel amazing building looked like something out of the Mask of Zorro!
Location overlooking Alhambra was magical. Staff were excellent.
Extremely centrally located. Close to absolutely everything, food, taxis, entertainment. Tastefully decorated room, good a/c, quiet, lift (elevator) great staff, nice central courtyard. Ok wi-fi. Price, price, price! Would definitely recommend.
Room on the small side.
Quiet, central location. Friendly and reasonable. We would definitely come back.
The breakfast buffet was just average...
Nice central location,
No access with the car and no parking. Car has to be parked car away. We were not aware that this is the case. Room was not suitable for young children as the staircase to the upper bed has no balustrade which makes the room extremely dangerous at night.
Location, helpful staff, close to bars, restaurants
Difficult to find initially, church bells
