My wife and I stayed at the HPSE when visiting Salamanca on our 10 year anniversary. The hotel and room were beautiful and very clean and the location was very central to the cathedral, plaza mayor, and the University.

Beautiful spacious room, tastefully appointed. Wonderful king size bed.and mattress.
Air conditioning did not work, bedroom screens off the hinges, and other little details indicate that maintenance of this beautiful facility might not be up to standards.
Good wholesome breakfasts, very good dinner, at a reasonable price. Our room had views out on the old San Esteban Cloister and up to the Cathedral. Hotel is well located, just outside the old city walls, a pleasant 5 minute stroll to the heart of old Salamanca -and old Salamanca is entirely charming, an architectural delight.

Just about everything about this hotel was very good. We had a superior room which was brilliant for both size and furnishing. Excellent lounge and dining room.
Great views from our windows. Lovely appointments in room.

Lovely old hotel with very comfortable rooms. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had beautiful views of the city from our room. The hotel is in the old city with the added bonus of parking. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good.
The only minor problem was a very stale smell in the lift from floor 3.

Nothing at all to improve upon.
It was stylish, clean, great parking! There was a secure section for parking, but there was plenty of parking within the hotel grounds itself, you drive up through the gates. reception friendly. we were upgraded! that's never happened to us before! In our room we had a coffee machine and a CD player, brilliant!! Breakfast was good too. And the location spot on! Salamanca is a lovey place to visit.
NOTHING!
Excellent location. Walking distance to all places to visit. We liked the building and it's atmosphere. Related to facilities the only comment is that we had to take two elevators and walk between the ride. But we also understand they have to keep the architecture as much as possible. Probably and external glass elevator could be an option and it will mix antique with a modern touch and it will make it comfortable to the customer
The title says it all. Very nice hotel located a couple of steps away from the pedestrian area with parking possibilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was outstanding.
Restaurant food wasn't very good, or at least not what we had for dinner. But taste is a personal thing so don't take this as a deal breaker.

The location is perfect, a stone's throw from the old town. Car park allows you to walk everywhere. The building is beautiful, as is the garden. The bath products are organic and lovely. It was comfortable and clean.
This hotel is def not a 5 star and the beautiful ancient building at the front, is not what happens inside, with corridors that look worse than a travelodge and bedrooms not much better. The gym is dingy and unloved in the basement next to the hotel staff facilities. as is the sauna which was not turned on. There is no swimming pool. The lift smells damp, the breakfast room was dark and dingy and half of it screened off. the yoghurt fridge was broken so there was no yoghurt. The whole place needs an upgrade
We like the finer things in life and this hotel matched up to our high expectations. Lovely building, attentive staff, good food in a lovely setting, and a locely romantic stay.

The room was the perfect temperature for a good night sleep. And the hotel was in a great location to explore the city from. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
On the second night a family moved into some of the surrounding rooms. It was generally very quiet, but we were woken up by the members of the family opening and closing the doors to the hallway.
We loved the easy access to the old town and the stunning setting.
There was an odd disagreeable smell in the wing where our rooms were.
Good location, nice rooms. Front desk staff helpful.
Breakfast too expensive and too formal for the area. No double beds available, although we did make a last minute reservation.
Lovely room with great views Very clean Very friendly staff Excellent breakfast Fantastic evening restaurant with lovely view of the old buildings; very attentive service Private garage car parking
Dinner was relatively expensive
As good as any parador we've stayed. Ex monastery with a fine building and good rooms. The superior room was very special. Great location close to the buzzy night life but very quiet and settled. Great staff and food we will return.
All good
