The building has Character and is fascinating and photogenic from all angles. If you wish to get away from the corporate American "Have a nice day" which appears to be the norm throughout the world today. This is the place for you. Everything is none standard which befits the style of building. Truly a one off. 1) There was no Lift. 2) The WFI connection worked only at times. Despite informing the reception 3/4 times a day during my entire visit there it was never fixed. A variety of reasons were given:- A. The connection does not work on the second floor, and still did not work even in the lounge area some 20 feet from the reception desk. B. If the WFI is rebooted it will be OK (Never worked) The need for a Laptop connection was essential for my stay, otherwise I would have never booked to stay there. Assurances were given that it would be fixed. But in true Spanish tradition nothing happened during my entire visit. If I was made aware nothing will be done I would have checked out, and found alternative accommodation regarding my situation.

Excellent location. Extremely good value for money. Beautiful historic building. Lovely room views. Good parking facilities Tea/Coffee facilities in the hallway not in the room. Because we were walking it would have been lovely to have a bath to relax in, but the shower we had was good quality

This hotel has the feel of history and elegance. The quality and choice of breakfast was of excellent standard. Car parking in the hotel grounds at no additional cost. We stayed in room no.7. The smell coming from the bathroom drains was not good. We know this is a 14th century palace but did not expect the drains to be of that era! The problem was not resolved for our second night either, to make matters worse, despite registering a complaint at reception. This is not good enough for a 4 star establishment. We would have preferred to have dined in the restaurant in the evening but found the disparity between the reasonable cost of lunch and the near double cost of evening meal, for virtually similar menus, to be off-putting. We really wanted to love this hotel but came away feeling disappointed.

The hotel was immaculate and spacious with the most character I have ever seen in a hotel. Stunning terraces, pool area bar, grounds, lounge areas and huge comfy beds The food was fine but did not match our expectations based on how amazing the hotel was, however fantastic value for money.

An amazing palace where we had eaten m any times in the restaurant, but had never stayed before this time. The 54 steps to our bedroom...especially as we live in a bungalow at present...however, I appreciate it would be extremely difficult to put in a lift.

The hotel is actually a castle, lovely rooms each different. small swimming pool, no sunbeds but as soon as we asked they appeared andremained out for the duration of our stay. Breakfast excellent value at 5euros. There is nothing to like, perhaps wifi in the bedrooms would be useful but it was ok having it in reception.

Beautiful historic building. Location in the centre of the pretty village. Large garden with swimming pool and comfortable lounge area. Very spacious room, seating area, good bed. Good breakfast with various variety of egg dishes. Friendly staff. Similar to parador, but with relaxed atmosphere. Very dark in room, not enough lights. Shower in bath. Wifi only available in public area's. Very warm in dining room.

It is a genuine palace from the middle ages and is superior to some of the Paradors we have stayed in . It is a classic conversion, carried out in the best possible taste. There are no lifts to the bedrooms and the floors are at 6 - 8 metre levels, so the trek to our suite on the second floor was a severe test of my wife's hip repair. The staff are sure that a lift will be installed one day!!! Maybe we should have settled for one of the bedrooms on the first floor!!

The building and the rooms are just amazing, set in a very friendly village close to the sea. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice. Everything immaculately clean. Also the breakfast really worth the price. Nothing. It was perfect.

We loved our stay at the Mirador -it proved to be a perfect break .The little town was enchanting with friendly people, small and interesting museums and not too far away from the beaches and charming countryside of the hidden Costa Brava .There are several golf courses available for sporty types . We shall definitely go again ,maybe for their three week music festival I the summer . The only complaint we have is the staircase to the bedrooms . It is very beautiful made of fine wood and stone .but no handrails . For anyone who is old or disabled it is a problem ,but the staff were helpful with our luggage .

Excellent value, well appointed large room with great view, very quiet. We stayed here on our way down through Spain. We spent 2 nights there and were able to visit the coastal area which was only 30mins away. Would recommend the hotel. Poor breakfast, but cannot expect much for 5E. Shortage of staff on reception, could not pay our bill on leaving until someone turned up after 9am.
