The parador was a dream. Some people claim that it needs a facelift,
but they've completely missed the style and charm of the
hotel—modern, clean, beautifully designed, a hotel of another time. The
staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was perfect, with lots of
variety (although never enough greek yogurt), the room was large with a
view worth dying for (room 225). And the beach—THE beach. Having
traveled around Costa Brava, the cove of Aiguablava is hands down the
best, with natural sand and a wide cove for swimming in. I highly
recommend this hotel.
Dislike is maybe the wrong term, so let's say, what would I
suggest…a massive investment in better pillows on the bed. A must. A
nice to have would be a step up in the mattresses. I like hard, this may
be a bit more aggressive than my preference. Lastly, I would not
recommend this property for people with mobility issues as the steps
down to the cove are a bit tricky, however, if lazy, one can always
drive from the parador parking lot down to the beach parking lot.
