Nice place. Friendly people, specially in the restaurant.Rooms are spacefull. Safe-parking in front of the hotel.
the room was very nice, but the Parador was very modern and didn't have the charm of the older pair of doors we had stayed in.
we had requested a room with a view but ended up having to pay extra for this.
The staff were very courteous and helpful. We did not have to wait around until someone could come over to serve us as we arrived. A good level of staffing.
Spacious bedroom overlooking garden; excellent lighting & mirrors in bathroom (so many hotels get this wrong). The dinners were very good and the breakfast good. Ample parking and pleasant ambiance in the public areas.
Dinner was a bit late for us northern Europeans!
situation travelling from normandie to algarve this is perfect break close to road without having to go into town
quiet rural setting - old historic building with fantastic food
1. My bill included someone else's 50 euro lunch which was removed after I questioned it and the signatures compared and obviously not mine. 2. When I reported in the morning that I had left my purse in the restaurant after dinner, there was no sense of trying to help me find it - a call was made to the restaurant who said they did not find it and that was it..when I personally searched under the table at which we had been sitting and found my purse, it was with great relief that it had been untouched under the table all night.
dinner service was a bit too rushed, with breakfast being laid out before dinner was over!
Interesting old building Excellent food High standard of rooms (recently renovated and some of best I've stayed in at a Parador)
Perhaps renovation has lost a little of the character of the building in places.
We always enjoy staying in Paradores and this one did not disappoint.
We used this Hotel as a stop over, it was wonderful. Car park was safe and very peaceful. We very much enjoyed our visit and the food was very good.
Only 2 hours from the ferry and easy to find. Beautiful building and great food at a reasonable price .
Excellent staff on reception
Restaurant staff provided poor service and poor food spoilt our stay each time we have stayed
As always a very nice hotel.it has been upgraded since our last stay and the results are excellent.
Not much choice on menu
Beautiful old building, tastefully modernised. Very good sized and comfortable room. Superb dining room. Generally the feel of a top class hotel
Little, but dinner was to a degree spoilt by the staff being under pressure and having to rush, leading to a mistake in our order. Also, they were under pressure to clear early, given the late starting time for dinner normal in Spain.
The friendly and helpful staff
Location very small room for a parador not what I would expect. Only one east chair in a double room. Very small bathroom with little room between bath and basins. Difficult to access. Very disappointed with this parador.
Very nice hotel. Beautiful views and beautiful rooms. We stayed at this Parador after spending a few days at another Parador and this one was definitely more elegant.
Fabulous location and a wow factor hotel.would have loved to stay longer, but can't wait to go back.
We think the chef had a night off and the "warmer upper" was on duty! Sadly the only bad mark was for the quality of the food, which didn't compliment everything else about the establishment. Shame.
Lovely staff very kind and helpful could not fault the Parador.
The hotel is in a peaceful, commanding location above the town of Vitoria -Gasteiz. The building has a lot of history, as with many Paradores. It is a 4 star hotel, therefore, as you would expect is quite luxurious. The rooms are modern, clean, very comfortable, quiet and with a queen size bed (or singles), which made for a very good night's sleep. Staff are courteous and helpful, and speak some English, but not everyone has a good grasp of English.
This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel, the last time being 2 years ago. We feel that the value for money was not as good this time. The breakfast menu seemed more limited and cheaper substitutes offered which to us indicates there has been some cost cutting measures taken. In our opinion it is just not worth 16 euros each. Similarly, the meal we had in the evening was extremely expensive in regard to what we chose, even allowing for the fact it is a 4 star hotel.
- lovely situated - perfect breakfast - good beds - big room
- bad food for dinner - they are not cleaning enough, dead fly was lying on the table for 2 days - complicate procedure for invoicing (like always in Spain)
