A delightful location. The front desk staff made us feel welcome and were very helpful. We were a group of five including infant grandson. The hotel staff made sure we had a cot brought up immediately.Room service was very efficient tha night with excellent food despite late hour. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. We have already highly recommended this hotel to friends.
Fabulous experience. Well designed hotel. Perfect rooms, spacious with fabulous bed and great bathroom. Great restaurant - stunning view in the evening.
A location - on top of a mountain - with wow factor
Unfriendly and unhelpful reception staff, no real outside lounge area to relax, only one terrace, no outdoor swimmingpool, no wifi on the terrace. The location is great, but that is the only thing that is great. The rooms are uninspiring, the hotel decoration seems to be designed in the eighties.
Dinner on the terrace. If you avoid focussing on the "moonscape" during daylight hours, (this is inconsequential once dark), you feel like you are somewhere very special. The service and food was delightful.
Reception was a cold and unwelcoming experience - very robotic. However, although lacking in "Paradorian" character, if you want a place that looks fabulous, even though the practical design is insane, go for it. You will need a warped sense of humour to survive, and plenty of time to find your way around the labyrinth.
Location Beauty of the spot Comfort Facilities Staff courtesy Convenience for road travelers
The location was wonderful, and the Hotel. A car or taxi was needed to visit the town, but as we visited Lorca Castle on an evening tour, transport was not needed. Would like to return to this special place.
Staff were helpful and polite-excellent really.Wi Fi brilliant.Food good value and tasty.Parador very comfortable.
The cleaning staff and breakfast waitress acknowledged our presence and made us feel welcome. Fabulous pool.
Cold, unfriendly, disinterested reception staff on the first day gave a bad impression. Having to walk through long, poorly lit corridors, combined with a strange lift set-up restricted freedom of movement - especially for someone with a disability. Access to own car at night was very difficult as several areas of the hotel were locked, staff sitting at reception offered no assistance, so we had to make our way down & back up several steps in the dimmest of lighting.
No outdoor pool
The position and appearance of the hotel were beautiful and the restaurant staff were very friendly.
The pool area was very ordinary. An outdoor facility would have been better or at least an open end enabling a view of the wonderful vista. There was no opportunity to sit outdoors while using the dining room either for the evening meal or for breakfast. This was a shame as the weather was very warm.
Superb location with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.....but a long walk into the town. Rooms are modern, large and stylish. There's a good Spa offering treatments (slightly expensive) and a swimming pool.
It's up a very steep hill so walking back from the town is not for the faint hearted. Service in the cafeteria was rather patchy
The accommodation was perfect, staff helpful food perfect.
the only drawback was the climb to the hotel as perched on a hill and not really accessible via walking making the hotel in an isolated loacation
The decoration inside the building was very tastefull and the view amazing.
I missed a garden and a simple way to get to Lorca. Maybe a small bus that goes up and down every half hour?
the building was amazing, as was the setting
there was never anyone in the bar during the afternoon to serve tea or drinks. portions were just too big for evening starters.
luxurious, new facility
Virtually impossible to get to. Food prices exorbitant.
The ambiance and views are wonderful! We ate in the restaurant at the hotel, and every dish was very good, and plentiful. The room was comfortable and quiet with great views. This is a relatively new Parador, and it is not yet "settled" into its location. We would definitely stay here again.
We did not eat breakfast because we felt it was overpriced. The car parking is a good walk away, and you have to climb two sets of stairs to get to the hotel. After going to the room, I needed something from the car. I could not get directly to the car park because there was a banquet that blocked access out of the hotel. There were no signs or any directions, and I ended up walking around and going up and down the elevator, looking for another way out. I finally got help from a member of staff after I opened the banquet room door to see if there was a way through.
Position and views.
Although in an amazing location, the Parador does not to take advantage of its position. The bar terrace is hidden away in a dingy shadowy corner, next to the tunnel where the vehicles come in, and does not have any of the fantastic views. The rooms have modest windows and no balconies. There is no pathway down to town, so if you don't want to drive or take a taxi you have to follow the indirect roads. Basically disappointing. We preferred the Pension with shared bathroom we stayed in the next night at a fraction of the cost.
Helpful staff, beautiful location, great design, super relaxing! We really enjoyed the pool.
No real alternative places to eat outside the parador.
The modern elegance of the hotel
The wifi wasn't secure
Restaurant staff were very friendly and cheerful. Very good food.
There was no alcohol nor snacks in the mini bar. It would have been helpful if we had been told at our time of booking that we would need to pre -book seats for the Easter celebrations. Also useful would have been the knowledge that the road to the hotel would be closed from approx.8p.m. until the parades were over; - on Good Friday this was 1.15 a.m. I think that we were the only non Spanish in the hotel so they seemed to assume that everybody knew what would happen. We ended up stranded in town for 50 minutes and a kind policeman helped us out by telling the taxi company exactly where we were! Thank goodness that I speak enough Spanish to explain our predicament. Apart from that it was a great place to stay and the parades were amazing. The horsemanship is exceptional and the atmosphere wonderful.
Very unusual location. Pool excellent
Restaurant could have opened earlier .
Staff very helpful. Lovely hotel high standard for everything.
Getting down into Lorca on foot is not easy.
A nice hotel next to the castle. Amazing views over Lorca. Nice indoor heated pool.
Would be nice if it had more outdoor spaces. Bar and restaurant are quite pricey.
I found the hotel one of the best i have stayed in, i thought after reading some of the previous reviews that the staff were going to be a bit unfriendly but they were very pleasant and helpful. I look forward to taking friends and family to this hotel, highly recommended
