“ Everything! Especially the 25 meter pool! ”

Once a 14th-century Moorish fortress, this Parador Hotel offers spectacular views over the countryside and the Corbones River. Enjoy these from the pool and dine in the elegant restaurant. A wonderful example of Moorish architecture, the Parador de Carmona boasts fabulous design details including a stunning central courtyard, vaulted ceilings, original stonework and spacious terraces. Admire the Mudéjar fountain, take a stroll through the pretty gardens and enjoy a quiet read or sit down under the arched galleries. Transport yourself back in time and imagine the fortress history though battles and different civilisations that have shaped this region of Spain. The large bright bedrooms of the Turismo de Carmona enjoy exquisite classic décor which, alongside the Sevillian tiling, enhance the 14th-century citadels original features. Spaces are filled with tapestries and antique furniture which is completely in harmony with the buildings history. The Turismo de Carmona's dining room is known as one of Paradores most beautiful, serving seasonal and local dishes, with the partridge and Carmona spicy spinach dishes as specialities. Beautiful location, building and interior of the buildings. Good wi-fi. Stunning views. The rooms were poor for the price, the bathrooms very bad. The pool is only open mid June-September which means there is little else to do if you have young children.

Beautiful old castle, superbly renovated. Friendly and peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast cost 18euros - it was a sumptuous buffet, but if you only wanted coffee and a roll it was hideously expensive. There was no local cafe close by for breakfast so we felt a bit trapped.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, nice rooms. Very hard to find!! Hardly any signs, nav system in car was confused too, we had to cross the village twice before finding the hotel. Other quests complaint as well. A good description and some signs will help future quests.

Great location in the castle on top of the hill. Comfortable, clean room. The dinner in the restaurant was expensive for the quality. The hotel was the most expensive and least favorite of our 5 in Spain.

Everything was fine and we enjoyed the stay. We were 4 persons. We did not like the dinners. That should be much better in a place like this.

It is a wonderful building in an outstanding position. As with all Paradors these days, it is far too expensive.

The best location in Carmona with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Huge swimming pool which looked lovely but closed at this time of year. Very friendly staff and one of the best paradors we have stayed in in Spain. We did not eat in hotel but drinks were reasonably priced. People we met who were staying there said the food was very good.

Comfortable room with fabulous views across the plain. Quiet at night - no street noise. Slightly aloof staff although the waitress in the dining room was very kind when I had a tummy upset.

The commanding aspect and feeling of being in another age and culture. The public areas were stunning and eating in the magnificent dining hall was a real thrill . The staff were always eager to please, particularly in the dining room, where the breakfast buffet was particularly appetising. Some of the non- residents using the terrace did not respect the space using mobile phones etc.rather spoiling its atmosphere.

Impressive authentic building with beutiful public areas in which to relax and take in the atmosphere. Clean comfortable and quiet rooms and great facilities After initially being impressed with the light food selection available in the cafe bar on arrival in the afternoon, the food in the restaurant was below par for a 4 star hotel as the quality was only fair and of the four people in our party, 3 were served tepid food.

Outstanding location and history. A very special place to stay. You'll need a car to reach the hotel and visit anything other than Carmona. Breakfast price is outrageous and the restaurant cuisine is rather less exciting than the local restaurants and still rather costly.

The Parador is located atop the highest landmark for miles and affords a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. It is a renovated portion of a much larger ruined castle and provides a beautiful abode for the traveler. We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous courtyard. We visited in July when the temperatures in Southern Spain can be brutally hot and so especially enjoyed the hotel pool, which was large and very well maintained. The cool water was welcomed at the end of each hot day sightseeing. In our limited experience, Paradors are not known for their cuisine or unique menu selections relative to each other, and this was the case here too. Mostly more of the same foods found at other paradors. The breakfast spread was had a bit more variety than most. The other issue is that the Parador is outside of Seville, about a half an hour to an hour drive, depending upon traffic to the city centre. This distance meant we missed out on strolling through the streets of Seville in the early evenings when temperatures were cooler and more people out and about.

The location on top of the town was magnificent. The local town of Carmona was lovely and easy to walk to and around from the Parador. Once we arrived and parked the car, we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. The bed was a bit hard....it was uncomfortable for my husband. Eating on site was a bit expensive, but this seems in line with prices for a facility of this level. There were many other options close by to eat off site, including early morning breakfast in town.
