There was no restaurant
Parking was not easy! Rather dead because there was no restaurant
Beautiful hotel in an amazing setting. We loved it.
It is a great little town with good amount of tapas bar, shops and sites to see. It's not so small and not so big - perfect stay if you will be in La Riojas. Parking is plentiful. A gem find and great location to the bogadas (wine cellar/tours) nearby in Haro!
The unique experience of staying in a Paradore, the spaciousness and quietness of the rooms. Bed linen and towels fantastic!! Breakfast was good value. Loved street life outside the hotel and atmosphere of staying in a small town. Was better than its 3 star rating.
One of our group's rooms had a distinct bad odor. She was relocated when she complained to reception. However smell was so noticeable, no guest should have been checked into room.
Great price Close to Haro and Laguardia Excellent restaurants in the town Very comfortable Lovely staff
No bar in the hotel No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms
Needs a decor update and better linens
Location was great, hotel very impressive
Extra bed in room was very uncomfortable. No bar / restaurant.
NO Restaurant, NO Bar, Very poorly stocked mini bar. Very few staff. A warning sign that our valuables were not safe in the room. The reception couldn't even book a table at the restaurant at the other Parador ten minutes away. Very poor service.
Really good sized and very well appointed room with a large and comfortable bed. Lovely outlook from the room and really quiet - a good night's sleep. Staff were helpful and curteous. The 'public' parking turned out to be adjacent to the hotel so convenient and we were able to bring the car to the front door of the Parador to unload (& reload) our bags. Breakfasts and dinner were both excellent and the short (10 minute) walk to the main hotel site was easy and pleasant.
Can't think of anything that I could criticise other than the 'annexe' in which we stayed did not have a bar as that was situated in the main hotel with the restaurant. I was worried about the lack of private hotel car park but my fears were groundless.
Live like a king. Breakfast excellent
No air con
The hotel rooms smell from the sewage system. Very unpleasant to sleap in. The BF buffet is overpriced and service staff is unfriendly and unprofessional in their way of approaching guests. They seem to have there own rules. Unpleasant.
Everything. We were made to feel welcome even though we pitched up with a tandem
The historical setting of this, and their other parador in the city make for an incredible stay. You're staying in (a luxury version) of history, with all modern commodoties you could expect.
This parador doesn't have its own restaurant and relies on their sister parador in the center of the city. It's only a brief walk to go there, but it can be an inconvenience.
As a older woman walking the Camino alone I spent two days at the parador in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. It was heavenly!
It does not have a cafe bar.
Beautiful building and room, easy to walk into town..
Helpful and good spirited staff
for the extra price, the breakfast is ok, but not impressive.
Absolute luxury in every respect.
Nothing not to like.
Wonderful people, outstanding facilities, excellent location, excellent breakfast. A wonderful top choice for pilgrims to Santiago
Complex wifi code. Very lengthy check in. No restaurant.
The style, decore and ambience were excellent.
We had to transfer to the nearby alternative parador for dinner.
lovely and peacefull as on camino hope to start with you next year
The hotel is very nice and historic. Rooms are comfortable and good sized.
Reception staff were not very welcoming or helpful with information. No water for coffee both mornings we were there. The headboards are wooden and need to be fixed solidly to walls as they are noisy. Also wardrobes are very noisy and can hear from next door.
