We were on a motorbike so we parked on the pavement to load and unload but I can see that, with a car, there would be problems as the road is busy and there are no pull in spaces.
It's not central and it's a ten minute walk to the cathedral, mostly uphill so not too good if you struggle with mobility.
Likewise, we were up on the top floor and there is no lift or porter. I'm fit and strong but carrying our bags up and down those flights of steps dressed in motorcycle armour wasn't the highlight of my weekend. Don't let this put you off but if you get breathless then I suggest you make sure you ask for a lower level room when booking.
This is a very nice hotel and if it was more central and had parking it would be a lot more expensive. If you are looking for a nice quality hotel at a bargain price, look no further.
The rooms are spacious, well-furnished and comfortable, the staff pleasant and welcoming and, because of its position, it was nice and quiet so we could sleep well without the usual revellers whooping it up till 4 in the morning. We were out late ourselves a couple of nights and saw how some of the other hotels that we had looked at were above hordes of happy, raucous pilgrims! The Alba was a veritable oasis of calm and tranquillity by comparison. The park across the road was a great place for a shaded walk in the heat of the city.
We would be very happy to stay here again and are happy to recommend it.
