the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff of the pension

Location is great - less than 5 minutes to the beach. The rest is disappointing - unpleasant smell, terrible noise into small hours (bar on the ground floor, where they were frying potatoes all night long), tired receptionist who ultimately tried to help us (after strong persuasion:). Would not recommend staying in this place unless they improve their offering.

We arrived and the whole floor smelled like cigarettes. I asked to cancel, instead the owner showed us another room at a different location. The other location was a bit better, still smelled like smoke though. Really small room and she told us to speak really quietly and not use the fan in the bathroom because the people in the next room were sleeping. It was such an odd experience. We ended up booking for an extra €10 a night at the Hotel Londres. I would recommend it. Full staff, right on the beach, lovely bar, non smoking.

Everything was very clean, the staff was very welcoming, excellent location, comfortable bed, and all for a low price!

We (a family of four) stayed in a double bed room. The bathroom was very small. Not recommendable for big people. However, the rest of the facilities were great.

Very noisy at night because of a drunk-place nearby.soundproofing is very poor at Artea.we won't come back because of that...
Proximity of the beach and city center.Beds are confortable.

There are no toothpaste and tooth brush, no desk. It's a little inconvenient. Wifi spped is a little low. The staffs can't speek English.
I washed my clothes and hanged in the bathroom. It's not easy to dry. The staff in the hotel took them out and hang them outside for me. Very kind.

Location, comfortable bed

We had room 7 and one wall was half coverd with mildew spots, next to the bed-head. The air was moldy, the window opened to a small inner covered courtyard with other windows facing. Very very small bathroom. The staff was not helpful at all when we complained about the mildew. We canceled after the 2nd night.
- Central location to the beach
September 13, 2014
Small bathroom. Lack of individual pillows. Two persons have to share the same very big pillow.
Very nice staff. Good location 2 min from the beach and 15 min to old town. The room was bright and clean.

Lack of outside air in our room
Helpful staff. Excellent location

Small room. Avoid staying in the rooms facing the inner courtyard. It was noisy and smelled weird.

Unfortunately we found a staff member a bit abrupt but I am sure this has to of with language barriers. You must remember a Pension is not like a hotel. The walls were built a long time ago for a household of respectful family members but that sometimes isn't the case. In our instance we found our roommates a bit noisy after midnight (drinking and carrying on) whilst then in the morning staff members, doors and bell noisy. Having the window open is required during summer so that adds to the noise with neighbours and hallway added to such. We don't spend much time in rooms so it was fine to lie our heads down but not fantastic for sleep quality.
Located in the heart of San Sebastain - the beach only a block away and town a few minute stroll. Train station is also walkable. The room was ok sized with space around the beds and equipped with the basics.

Price in high season, location, staff
August 10, 2014
- A terrible welcome on the inner phone by an impolite woman who does not speak a word of english - 2 big water leaks in the bathroom - A view by the window on neighboors clothes - Awful relation quality/price (the owner takes advantage of tourists)
- a correct location

Was hard to communicate as the people who work there all speak Spanish and little English. My friend in the bed next to me got really bad bed bugs so be careful!
The location is great! Across the road from the beach and only a 10 minute walk to the old town. The staff were lovely & the room was clean

The staff were lovely & did their best to help despite language barriers! The rooms are clean & the sheets smelt fresh. It is just opposite the beach

Its a bit scary from the outside.
some of the reviews scared us but in truth it was a great place to stay, the room was clean and its 2 mins to la concha beach.if travelling by car go to the pension first and get a car parking ticket from them its cheaper. You do need a bit of Spanish to communicate with the staff.

Noise from neighbors arriving after bars closed at 3am... not the fault of the hotel, but walls do allow sound to travel.
Location half a block from the center of San Sebastian's crescent beach.
