This is a great location and restful room. Since we arrived on the bus we were a bit far from the pension. We took the Tram right to within a half block away. If you come in on the train, it is across the street. There is no breakfast included but no problem. Plenty of options close. We received excellent suggestions from the host about where to get good Tapas. We picked up our rental car at the train station upon leaving Bilbao.
The floors were loud and there could be noise issues. Room a bit warm at first but neither of these things were a problem for us. Car park expensive so we delayed picking up our rental car. Not needed.
The location is really perfect, the old town is nearly around the corner, and the shopping area is within walking distance. It takes less than five minutes of walking to get to the nearest metro, and Plaza Mayor (airport bus) is just one station away. No breakfast, but plenty of places around to eat. The room was not too small for the three of us, we had enough space for our luggage, and the bathroom was comfortable. Rooms were clean and comfortable, wi-fi worked very well. The guy at reception spoke reasonably good english, and was very helpfull. The pension is on the 4th floor, but there is an elevator that was never busy, so no problem at all. Overall, this place is basic but decent for one or two days of low cost stay (we payed around 140 euros for 2 nights , and three persons).
Windows couldn't be opened during the night, because of the smell and sometimes the noise coming from the outside although the vindows were facing the blank wall. Shower cabin is really small. No soundproofing at all, we could hear all the noise from other rooms and the corridor. There were no electricity sockings in the room except the one of the TV(!) plus one in the bathroom! Imagine three people trying to charge their cell phones and other gadgets?!
Welcome. Warm colour scheme.
All AOK for the price.
Walking distance to train station, Guggenheim and old city. Extremely helpful staff, even mending broken suitcase. Close to good eating places.
Close to station and easy walk along the tiver to Guggenhiem Museum
Nothing but only stayed for one night.
Excellent location; good value for money; pleasant and helpful owner; good wi-fi Internet access, free of charge; comfortable double bed;
Interior soundproofing was poor. My room was next to the main door and reception area and I could hear clearly every word spoken. In fairness, I didn't ask if it was possible to move to another room - and I am a heavy sleeper, so wasn't disturbed during the night by comings and goings.
Simple place with a fab location. Over bridge from the old town and about 10 mins from the Guggenheim. The pension was quiet at night (it's on 4th floor) and met all our needs.
Just a stroll from the old town. The guy on reception was a mine of information and was very helpful in ensuring that we maximised the full use of our time in Bilbo.
Poor internet and bed a little hard.
Equidistant from every museum, bar area and restaurant that we wanted to visit. On a calle peatonal (no cars allowed) and just far enough from las calles canalllas around the train station. Plus parking! In the -4th floor garage bottom, but with its own elevator. The owner Aidar could not have been more helpful.
Convenient location, nice breakfast cafe nearby. Friendly staff. Quiet at night, despite being near the centre. Good atmosphere.
There was a slight mix-up with our booking. I had requested a twin room and this was clear on the order form. We were given a double bed in a small rather hot room. However, the concierge had sorted our problem by the next morning and our new room was fine.
Convenient for the station and the main ares of the city. Quite simple rooms of adequate size were furnished quite simply and it was all one could need for a short stay in the city.
Not really a complaint: we arrived at the end of the Fiesta and on the first night, there was band performing right outside, beneath our window. But the quality of the music was good and, once we were injured to the volume, great fun to fall asleep to, once in a while at least!
No soap in bath
good location, wifi, nice staff
the room didn't have window to outside only to some intra-bulding space thus the room was dark and there is noc airconditioning so it got very very hot and humid but it was not possible to ventilate the room, I could not sleep at all, it was very unpleasent to stay inside
Fantastic and enthusiastic hotel receptionist provided maps, insights and helpful hints.
A hair was found in the toilet even though it was sealed with "hygienically cleaned". Rooms are basic but good value for the price. Small lift does get busy so you may find you are walking up 4 flights of stairs.
Located close to railway station and city amenities.
It was noisy, hot and no toiletries were provided other than a small soap for two people. I had to ask for two bath towels after first night as only one was left for two people. The shower leaked on to the bathroom floor. We had to leave the window open for ventilation and I received a number of mosquito bites. I won't use the Pension Bilbao again.
The pension is located in the city centre, all on walking distance. Value for money.
The shower cabin is very small and only suited for slim persons.
paper walls, you can hear everything and everyone in the whole pension Short and very uncomfortable beds Old bathroom
The staff were helpful, the room clean and in a good location. Recommended.
We were there during the big fiesta, so noise was always going to be a concern. Sleep wasn't completely guaranteed, but we did have an interior room and it was double glazed.
nice place in city center, near to the train staition. very clean. fast internet in the room.
the walls it very thin and you can hear every one that walks in the floor. the stairs in the bilding is very old and seams like they are going to full soon if they wont be re newed.
Staff is extremely committed. Clean and quiet place
A great place to explore Bilbao from. Bar next door did brilliant breakfasts and great service.
Great staff. Excellent location. Beautiful friendly city.
Really enjoyed the centrality of the Hostel, it was easy to reach and very close to the main sightseeing highlights. Even Guggenheim is just 10 min away.
The room was located towards the back of the house, windows were facing an inner courtyard (or light shaft) which was also "host" to an extractor hood. Therefore it was impossible to open the window without having a deep fried smell in the room. Since we stayed there at a very summerly time, it spoilt a little the otherwise great accommodation.
Right in the center Car park (12€/day) Great and helpful staff Quiet
It's an old building so the elevator is quite small for a pushchair but it fits.
Close to everything, clean
A lot smaller than what photos show and people at the reception arent really good at English but they're very nice..other than that i would still recommend Pension Bilbao.
