cleaniless and good location
the ensuite did not have any privacy
Great location, very central. The pension came to our expectations. Cheap, clean and quiet. Every day - cleaning & changing towels. The personal was so gentle and kind, emailed us prior the arrival. We could also leave the luggage as we had an evening flight. And Barri Gotic is one of the most beautiful places I've been to. Kind regards to Mr Diego.
Great location Clean Always full with toilet paper and such
We didnt get the room we booked. But the manager arrived within 5 minutes and gave us another room that fitted us more, but still hadnt a bathroom in the room, which we booked! We got recieved by a person who didnt speak english and wanted us to sign a registration paper on spanish, so we didnt know what we signed.
The room was very clean and the staff polite. The location is great as long as you can use the metro or go anywhere on foot!
It's impossible to sleep at night, even with closed windows due to the traffic from the main street. The beds are too short and mattresses are too hard. The day before our arrival we mailed to the Hostal if it was possible to somehow cancel the reservation without costs due to some important health issues we encountered just a few days before departure, but the next minute my CC was already charged with the full amount for our stay (4 nights). So we took the risk and came to Barcelona. They had all the rights to charge the full stay, but their attitude and the lack of comprehension disappointed me very much.
Location excellent. I find this hotel extremely functional. It's not fancy, but you really lack for nothing. There are a lot of hooks and shelves where you can put your stuff. The owners are a great source of helpful information (but it's helpful to use Google translate to translate things into Spanish). If you get a room in the back you overlook historical structures that were built against the old Roman wall.
Press the doorbell with the "H" and take the elevator to the third floor to find the hotel. It's not so clearly marked.
Best spot in heart of the city, and reasonable tariff, Elmer was a kind and genial host but....
We were four ladies with lots of luggage crammed into 4 fold up beds in one small single room - but it was supposed to be a "quadruple room" .... Not by a long shot!!!! The owners of this property need to look seriously at their ambitions money wise and balance that against longevity. It is a big market.
near to tourist spots
small room and toilet
Owners not speaking English and not very friendly. Very old and basic furnishings
Located in old but well maintained building close to many of the major tourist locations.
No air conditioning so it would be uncomfortable in summer.
Excellent location in Gotic Quarter. Loads of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Also good places to have breakfast, since its not available at the pension. Next to a metro stop. Easy to reach from airport and good connections to all the attractions. Good cleanliness.
There was minimal guidance to the pension outdoors. There was small Spanish way of marking in which floor the pension is, but nothing bigger downstairs or no buzzer marked which to ring. Owner spoke very little English which caused trouble to find where the pension is when we were early. Room had no air conditionin but a fan, so consider if you want to stay in this place at the hottest times. Quite much noise from a busy street which caused no problem to me but it might be a problem to some people. Beds were on a smallish side and not the most comfortable. If you get a room with a good price and value the location, book it!
Very good location- next to the metro station Jaume I and Gothic quarter; 15 minutes by foot to Placa Catalunya and approx the same to Psg. De Colom. Rooms are located on 6th floor but building have lifts for use, so no problems with getting there even with luggage! Our room was small but it was cleaned every day and bedclothes had been changed every day as well. Personnel was very friendly and helpful- even we arrived at 10 PM- host provided as Barcelona map and some useful advice. So- if you are not exigent and you arrived to this city to see and experience as more as you can- perfect place to stay and start your city cognition.
The staff was very co-operative and adjusting to our needs. We had unlimited supply of bottled drinking water unlike other places
The location is fantastic!! Diogo is a wonderful host. The place is simple but welcoming. 10 min walk from Barceloneta if you know the short cuts well. Metro is just a minute walk! I have already stayed there 3 times and recommend the pension.
Nothing, Everything was just right.
Location very central, just 5-10 minutes walk from La Rambla and 15 minutes from the port. Staff nice, bathroom and room clean, fresh towels every day.
Rooms facing the street very noisy, no air conditioning however there is a ventillator in every room. Staff speaks little English.
Clean facility with perfect location.
Toilet was private but outside the room.
Close to Ramblas and Pl Catalunya
Litle hard to find. Can get quite hot during summer nights and opening windows in not an option - it is located on very busy street with heavy traffic.
small bed, noisy
Clean, near the main attractions.
Room was very small.
The machine to take cards didnt work, we have to paid in cash at the end. They have to fix that problem.
Location is great. Near the Cathedral, Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas, Barcelonetta is also within walking distance. Accomodation is simple, but clean and in a good neighbourhood. Metro station is next to the building. There is a nice bar in the same builiding on the street level, where you can have a coffee and breakfast. Next to it is a tapas bar. You just need to cross the street to reach a street lined with bars and restaurants.
The location is excellent, close to town centre and sea. The room was tidy and clean.
It is next to metro station and is within walking distance to the Cathedral, La Rambla and Port Vell. The room is clean with simple facilities.
It's a bit noisy at night for the room facing the main street.
Perfect location for our purposes
The pension is perfectly located for city strolls as well as any other destination in and around Barcelona as it is directly next to the metro station Jaume I. The accommodation is basic, but very clean. There is always enough hot water, the wardrobe has lots of hangers, the mattresses are comfortable, and the room even has a little working desk. Yes, the room is small and the furniture is basic - but it's perfectly adequate for a couple of days if you don't expect luxury. And for what the pension offers the price is very good, and the staff is lovely.
I cannot say I didn't like it because I don't mind a bit of traffic noise - the windows are well isolated, but there are limits to what can be done in a central location directly above a central road. So if someone expects complete quietness... but then a city centre location wouldn't be the right choice anyway :)
