The best thing was all the staff were fantastic, they were extremely welcoming& helpful and really went out of their way to ensure your stay was enjoyable! It's near all attractions and only a few minutes stroll from the harbour. I had booked a single room and I was given a double which I was very happy with. I can't really fault here at all and would highly recommend this place to anyone
The only thing i could say would be to have a kettle in the room
The only positive was the location and the area. As well a 15% discount on a good quality breakfast at a nearby cafe.
Firstly a flight of stairs that were in parts unsafe with titles loose and broken in parts. The reception is on the 3rd level & then it was a further few mores levels to my room. Check out info is not correct on the booking.com site. Hotel, staff were not interested in honoring the one hour difference. Glad I only stayed the one night.
The location was very good. So was the wi-fi. 24 hour reception and security.
Noisy at night due to open vents into the communal coridor.
Excellent location in the city centre, room with a balcony and dinning area.
Soundproofing was very bad, we could hear every doorbell at night. WiFi signal was very weak and unstable. No toiletress available, only towels\linen.
The hostel is very nice. You can't expect the hotel service in such a place, so you should understand that you are in a hostel, not a hotel and expect corresponding service. The staff of the hostel is very friendly and speak more or less English (that is important if you have no knowledge in Spanish :)). They will be happy to help you with all your questions. There is also the man working in this hostel who speaks even Russian. The hostel is clean enough. All the bathrooms are cleaned properly.
The huge disadvantage of the hostel is that there is no elevator. We had a lot of luggage and got a room on the forth floor, so it was a nightmare. There was nobody to help. Also the room was super noisy. It was almost impossible to sleep as downstairs in front of the hostel there is a bar. Of course you should realize what you pay for, and it's definitely not the option for people who used to stay in the hotels.
Excellent location. Clean. Good wi-fi.
Our room on the second floor (with a shared bathroom) was very small and dark (limited access of daylight). Uncomfortable bed: too soft. No lift.
Its close to all main sites and the beach. Could not have been better! Fresh towel every day. Very good wifi connection. Reception open 24 hours! Perfect place to stay in Barcelona for holidays!! :)
Everything was fine! Yes, my room was on the 5th floor without lift, but I got to exercise. ;) And yes, it was loud, but this is spain and also due to the other guests, nothing to do with the hotel.
only shower on floor was broken and needed to either go down two floors or up one to shower!
Perfect size room. Fast wifi. Cute little TV. Quiet room with a window leading to a patio. Hotel enforces a no noise policy after 22:30.
- 5 flights of stairs(!) - I understand it is an old building. Hotel not liable. - Thin walls.
Good location, short walk from Estacio de Francia and easy walking throughout the old centre of Barcelona. Plenty of small supermarkets and variety of eateries and entertainment in vicinity. Clean and good value for money.
Location was fantastic, the internet worked well 90% of the time. The cleaners do a great job under the circumstances. A safe in the rooms.
Our floor had one bathroom for 10 rooms, some rooms slept 4 people, our toilet broke, nothing was fixed for the rest of our stay, three days! It flooded the whole floor. When it rained the rooms flooded an inch, don't leave anything on the floor! The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything, including the night front desk man sneaking into rooms to watch television at full volume till 4am. No air conditioning or fans! ask for a room facing the street, noisy but at least a breeze. No lift, we were on the 7th floor and all receptionist had poor English.
I really liked the location. The reception is open 24h when needed. Friendly atmosphere, clean environment. I would come back any time.
No elevator, lots of stairs...
location to city centre, beach, train and metro stops.
curtains in room were so thin that at night when closed and light in room switched on, it was possible to see into room. especially the rooms that were facing onto the courtyard, which you would see when using the stairs and the windows were open. Bit like big brother is watching.
So near to city and beach 24/24 reception opened
Not all the staff speak english (depend on shift receptionist) Noisy on the morning (coffee machine too) Not very secured
located between the old town and the beach. clean and friendly.
excellent location. clean rooms. comfortable beds. good shower . cheap
nice staff and atmosphere close to train, metro and beach
room on 5th floor (travelling by bicycle) WIFI was sometimes inexistent
Perfect location, nice clean room and bathroom, friendly service:)
No fan i my room even if it was mentioned on the page that there should have been. I guess i could have asked for one, but never got around to it, only there 2 days.
Location, Location, Location. The price was very reasonable too.
Trying to find the place first day and climbing the 4 flights of stairs.
there isn't a lift
It was in a good area
You had to walk up 5 floors without and elevator! That includes walking up 5 floors with your heavy bags! Bookings.com should insist that they tell people before they book the place!!! It is terrible.I Had to leave, period
I didn't like the fact that it was on a second floor and nothing to indicate that on the booking site If someone is disabled it would have been a big problem Also no adequate signs in the building to point you in the right direction . The building is not welcoming . A bit of paint and decorating will make a difference The building may not be owned by the hotel but going to an hotel I would like to see a more nicer environment
Location, price. Stable wifi. Friendly girl at reception in the morning. Nice place for eating with a small balcony. Cheap cafe downstairs with normal food.
No lift. City map is not free, 4euro. Very old, worn out linen with spots (sheets seemed clean in general though). Had unpleasant experience with night man at reception: had late check in due to flight delay, sent 2 mails to notify ab that but at check in I was met by unfriendly man. He said I had to thank him for his being at reception at that late hour and for letting me come in! No friendly "hello", no any simpathy at all (obviously I was very tired and sleepy at 3am). Then I revealed check out is before 11, not before 12 as booking.com said. The man didnt wish to hear about information from booking.com, was again quite rude. He also mentioned i would NOT like "my" room. At the same time he worried a lot which sort of review I post! Seems I could be treated even worse but for the worry about the review:) then I was asked a few times if I had any values in my bag cause I wanted to leave my bag downstairs in a safe room not to bring it up (without lift) to my room. I planned to leave in the morning anyway. I was asked about values so many times and so insistantly that I got a feeling values (if I had) COULD be stolen.. After all that fussing (waste of my time) I was finally given a room on the floor of reception. The man underlined that room was much better than the one they planned for me.. weired guy really..
