Two main things about this I didn't like. Firstly, I booked a quadruple room for my family of 4 (inc. a 3 year old and a 6 year old), to receive an e-mail a few days later telling me that they'd have to offer me two twin rooms instead, followed by another mail telling me that they'd resolved the issue and they had a quadruple room after all. Suffice it to say that when we arrived there, we were told that they no longer had a quadruple room. We were told by the surly and unhelpful member of staff that we would have to seperate into one twin room and one double room, in two different buildings!!! After a complaint on this, we were eventually found two rooms in the same building, albeit on different floors (with different locks, so no easy access to each other). One room (the double) was tiny and horridly smelly. The other, the twin, had no air conditioning and the only way to let air in was to keep the windows open, which had the drawback of the noise of the street below coming in all night (the street is one the main streets of bars, so this was extremely loud until about 4 in the morning). Whilst being shown to our rooms, we saw an empty room with 4 bunk beds, which the member of staff was evasive about why this wasn't available to us.
Secondly, it was clear on arrival that this wasn't a hotel, but a backpackers hostel. I'm a veteran of staying in youth hostels across Europe and this doesn't even compare very well on this scale. I wouldn't choose to stay here with small children, due to the noise of the other clientele arriving back drunk in the small hours and think that it represents very poor value for money at the price I paid (126 Euros). Even if I was on a drinking holiday with friends instead of family, I'd consider somewhere different as the facilities were very basic and not very clean.
In all, one of my worst "hotel" experiences and I have had some bad ones.
Very little actually
