Room cleanliness and comfort Staff very friendly Good central location
Fantastic location.. centre of restaurant and historic area Good security Fresh and bright
Very clean, great location, quiet atmosphere
Reeeeeally small room, only artificial light, no real window
We had an internal room without windows and the rooms are a bit on the small side. Having said that it was absolutely perfectly designed, spotlessly clean along with all the towels and bed linen. The ladies that run pension Koxka are really friendly and helpful, you can even have a bag of clothes washed and folded (10 euro), one of the best places we have stayed while traveling through Spain.
Nothing to dislike. But it is worth pointing out that the internal rooms are only just large enough for two adults, you wouldn't even be able to fit in a cot for a small child.
The room and bathroom were a good size and were clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and friendly.
The hotel is located right in the heart of old town, which is convenient, but the high level of noise at night did make it difficult to get to sleep, even with the window closed.
Location Owners were very nice Clean Did I mention location??
Room was too small and no window.
Location. Management . Friendly . Helpful .
position position position - loved being in the 'old' section of Sans Sebastian - it's where all the action is with bars, shops etc. The staff were incredibly helpful and great with tourist tips. The rooms were so clean and really nice - great balconies to see what's going on, but double glazed glass doors to block out any noise when closed.
only complaint was the bed was a bit hard
Way too loud at night...stay 5 mins away in the romantic quarter.
No a.c and face the loud streets of the old town
Loved being in the center of activities. Very festive town. Parade every day - concert every night (July). Room overlooked many tapas bars. Helpful staff.
Small room, though recently remodeled. Modern bathroom.
The good standard and the wi-fi access.
Our room had no window and a minimum of space.
The room we had was so stiflingly hot that neither of us slept a wink
Location was fantastic. Shower was fab and bed comfy
Room was very small and noisy into the early hours. Kettle would have been welcome
The worst accomodation experience of my life. Travelling with 2 children, I booked this on booking.com and they noted my request for a room with a view and an extra bed for my 12 year old. We got to Pension Koxka and were led to a room at the back of the building. It was tiny to begin with and the extra bed turned out to be the closet in the corner that was converted into the bed. The postage stamp bathroom was right by the door. If you opened the front door you were pretty much standing in front of the toilet. We had to crab walk to our beds. The nightmare gets worse. I saw a window as soon as we walked in and said to my daughter to open it. It opened into an internal floor space consisting of four walls with local residents in flats going up another 10 floors with a closed-in plastic roof at the top. We looked out into some sort of generator in the middle with buckets, mops and an ironing board leaning against it. Along the cracked walls crawled dirty dusty pipes. Wet washing was slung over lines in front of the window and up each level. We could hear local residents talking, watching tv and smell their cooking. We took a deep breath and stayed for the night. I wasn't feeling well and next day developed a temperature and throat infection. I went to Beatriz the next morning and said I was sick and we had 3 days in San Seb and I couldn't do it in that hole, I had prepaid for the first night so I said either she move us or we leave. She rang her husband then told us that they had to charge me for another night. I was so delirious with fever that I paid and decided to leave the next day. Now that I am out of there and recovered, I cannot believe what a preposterous experience it has been, an accomodation experience close to imprisonment and the service that we received. Instead of charging me for the second night, she should have refunded my first night. This will go down in the books as the most disturbing travel experience of my life.
Central location in heart of old town.
Would have been nice to have a view but rooms were limited and I knew when booking that I had an internal room.
- Good location in Old Town - Cleanliness
- Can be a bit noisy at night due to it being in a busy street
Location, super clean, friendly staff
Nothing, it's basic but great value for money
Pros: This was a great place to stay. The pension is right in the heart of the old town, surrounded by shops, bars and pincho restaurants. The room is cute (on the small side) and very clean. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: It can be a bit noisy on the street at night so bring some ear plugs if you want to sleep with the window open.
Accommodation in San Sebastián isn't cheap but this place gets top marks for location and cleanliness.
Excellent location in old city
Had to rent space to store the bicycles which was the only time in 5 weeks of cycle travel.
Location Modern clean bathroom Good Wifi Lift for luggage
Room very hot V small room for 3 (extra bed) Back room looked onto wall, no light. Would have been much more pleasant in a front room with window over street but not available
fantastic location right in the centre of the 'old town', this is where all the bars and restaurants are. its really quiet also with double glazed doors. its also right in the middle of both beaches. I'm really glad we stayed here and the owner is lovely, she also washed and folded our clothes for 10 euro as there is next to no laundromats in town
the room is on the smaller side but we spent little time in there, i would suggest get a room with a balcony view because I'm not sure if the other ones have natural light.
The Pension was in the middle of the old town with hundreds of Tapas bars outside the front door and is within easy walking distance to the beach.
The room was quite small with no room for any tea or coffee making facilities or anywhere to open your luggage except on the bed. While the management will provide parking at a local garage (at an additional cost) there is nowhere to park your car at the Pension while you unload your luggage.
Bea was very friendly and helpful. Centre of old area. Excellent location
Noise from street, but closed double insulated windows blocked out noise.
