The historic roman remains are interesting. The cathedrals were worth visiting especially going up in the tower in the Pilar Basilica. There are galleries and the Aljafaría Palace. We enjoyed a walk by the river. There is a good bus system although we walked everywhere.
The hotel is at the side of the main station which is very convenient for getting there. We also did two day trips out of Zaragoza by train. One to Canfranc, a very historic train station. Another to Tudela for a trip with a guide to the Bardenas Reales Europes largest desert.

Zaragoza is a beautiful city, but the strong and constant wind makes the place colder than it could be. It is not exactly a touristic city, but it is worth a short stay to visit Aljaferia and the wonderful churchs. The resataurant Flor de Liz in the old center was an incredible experience.

Zaragoza is a beautiful city with great history. 2 full days was PLENTY of time there I think. Be sure to buy tickets for the Aljafería Palace in advance if you want to see it. Also, if there are specific restaurants you want to try, be sure to make reservations ahead of time. I recommend el fuelle for the food and the experience.

There are some historic sights, like parts of Moorish palace, a cathedral, Roman ruins, art museum with Goya, historic and huge food market. Several famous and attractive buildings for churches, museums, to sum up. City very affordable, with many restaurants and markets near our hotel. Our favorite area was that area near the historic food market, near El Pilar church, around Hotel Catalonia El Pilar hotel and NH Hotel, among other hotels in that area.
Uber and other cab services are here. Buses and trams here close to our hotel but we have not used.
I have read, however, that summer is very hot, and we are here in late October and early November.

I visited Zaragoza to break up my trip from Barcelona to Madrid. I was intrigued by its abundance of Mudejar art and architecture and it did not disappoint! I loved walking through the city in search of all the Mudejar buildings and loved the Cathedral del Salvador de Zaragoza and the Iglesia de San Pablo. The Aljaferia Palace was also definitely a highlight! The Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar is one of the nicest Basilicas I have ever seen, as well.
I loved that it wasn't as busy or touristy as Barcelona and Madrid and it was an authentic Spanish experience away from the tourist traps of those two, big cities. I stayed for 3 nights but think that two full days or a weekend would have been ideal. It's extremely easy to get around the city, you can walk to everything and it's overall just a friendly, warm, nice place to stay. You can tell that they don't get as many tourists there because English is not commonly spoken, so knowing some common phrases might help during your visit.
All in all, I would highly recommend adding this city to your Spain list!

One of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited.
So many places to eat the choice was endless
Great value for money
The hop on hop off bus was great to get around and see the more interesting places.
I love Hotel Sauce: I will always stay there when in Zaragoza from now on. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The location is perfect: everything I wanted to do was within a short walk. The cafe/patisserie was excellent. I miss it already.
I especially want to thank the hotel staff for helping me when I became ill (I got a stomach virus on the plane). They made sure I had everything I needed to get better, made extending my stay to heal exceptionally easy, and even helped me get medical attention when I needed it.
Everything, it was a fabulous stay, our first night we were hot in bed and next day a fan was delivered even though air con is being fitted in bedroom this weekend . The roof terrace is beautiful and the apartment so central for everything you want to do. Hosts are the very best so attentive and caring to your every need.
Would highly recommend must be best place to stay in Zaragoza and fantastic value with parking included and wonderful outside space.
I was on a road trip from Santander to Alicante and chose Zaragoza as my stopping point. Previously, I stayed at another property and thought I'd give Plaza Feria a try. It was easy to get there from the main Autovia. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and as the restaurant and bar were closed for the holidays, I was given sort of a bag lunch with a pasta salad, a sandwich a bottle of water.
Lovely hotel in a great location in Zaragoza. Underground parking is very close to the hotel, in fact across the street. Our room was really large, super clean and great bathroom. Bed was really comfortable. The room was one of the ones that's been recently renovated. Self service, buffet style breakfast was great and all the communal areas were really well designed and clean.
We arrived in Zaragoza by train, and it was about a twenty minute cab ride to the hotel. But the hotel is just two blocks from the city's large main square (and so numerous restaurants). The front desk staff were friend and fluent in our language (English). The room was clean if not spacious, and the price was fair.
I am still lying in these clean soft sheets… I think I should buy the same and start ironing 🤣.It’s obvious the hotel is old and has a classic approach for welcoming. It’s very clean! People definitely know what they are doing. I would come again! And I will recomend the hotel to my mates coming to Spain to!!
The room was fair enough made as all spanish buildings so you can have the real feeling of living in Spain. It has its own bathroom with towels, toilet papers and soaps. The staff truned on the heating in the night when it was raining. The location of hostal is perfect 10/10.
Surprising hotel, at the bus / rail nexus. Very modern, suite type rooms, had drinks making facilities (rare in Spain).
Great room. We used under hotel parking (extra but right on the lift. Good Wi-Fi, Basic, but excellent room service after a delayed arrival.
This hotel is wonderfully situated in the center of Zaragoza, quite near some of the greatest attractions of the city, including the spectacular Church of Senora del Pilar, the old Cathedral, the Great Plaza built on top of the Roman forum, and the Ebro River.
The property was beautiful, a hidden gem in Zaragoza. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. Dog friendly with large grounds to walk our dog. We often stop in Zaragoza on our way to southern Spain and will definitely be booking to stay here again.
The room was small but fits to purpose. It was well equipped, with desk and chair, small bathroom. Towels and the bedsheets were clean. The hotel has a very central location, right next to the main attractions,, restaurants and pedestrian streets.
Excellent hosts, they mad sure we knew where to visit and eat. The views from the patio were outstanding and we enjoyed sitting outside and looking at the attractions. best booking we have had in all of our month long visit to Spain!!!!!!
The staff stands out by their sympathy and empathy and particularly I have to say "thanks" to Claudia who helped a lot when I made.mistake over the booking. I will definitely keep looking them up in terms of reservations in Zaragoza.
Located in the heart of Zaragoza it’s a great walking distance around the city and the shops are very close by. Love the breakfast available to chose from, the staffs are friendly plus helpful and the hotel is clean and tidy.
The location of this hotel, with parking, in the heart of the city was excellent. We were able to walk everywhere. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Smart modern hotel in a great location for an overnight stop when travelling north/south in eastern Spain. Well equipped room with a fridge and safe. Plenty of free parking.
