Lovely staff at this hostal and very helpful. Room was great and very spacious but very noisy!
Very noisy as the old town never seems to sleep, so would not recommend staying in casco viejo!
The hosts were very welcoming and were always there if you needing anything. Didn't speak English well but we made it through. Very nice hosts.
The bed was awful. It was tiny and uncomfortable and there was one long flat pillow that did not support my head. Made for a bad sleep. There was a window next to my room where the laundry was hung and I had a sheer curtain, so going to sleep I felt slightly uneasy. Also the walls are so thin, some late comers arrived my last night and unpleasantly kept me up until past 4am....
it's in the old part of the city- good location
very noisy at night as you can hear all your neighbours
Super location near the Cathedral in Old City. Close to railway station and not too far to the bus stop for Airport (say 15-20 minutes walk). It is basic and small but met our needs as it was so central and we were doing the Camino Norte, which had a stage starting at the Cathedral.
As it is the Old Quarter, the street can be a little noisy at night. We were staying there three nights some two weeks apart and this was only noticeable on one of the three nights so it is not a major complaint.
Not the best pension in town
the pension is right in the middle of Casco Viejo and the location could not be better . A nice clean and comfortable place and the people who run it could not be more helpful and friendly. A charming place.
The hosts were very sweet, welcoming and professional, although we could not fully communicate because of the language barrier - gracias por todo! The location was in the middle of the lovely old town, which was excellent, so we could just hit bars in the old town in the night then come back to the hotel on foot. The room was very clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed.
Very friendly and nice staff Very central location Nice balcony in the room
Noisy during night
Clean, Terrace, Elevator
They can't speak in English at all Second day, i couldn't sleep because of the noise(drunken people) outside
excellent location, lovely view to the square
entrance/staff so so
The room was lovely and spacious. Very good value for money.
It was noisy outside during the night as we had to leave windows open.
Booked a room with the bathroom down the hall. Received a prison cell sized room. They show photos of large rooms that did not match the room I received. There was an event in the city so everything was sold out and I could not change. Beware of the rooms with shared bath--do not book.
The couple who own the place The location The building
I was in a double room without bathroom, but two bathrooms were just across the hall. It was comfortable enough for such good price. Great wifi, great location for people who love city life - close to railway station(s), many restaurants, shops and cafes. Small balcony was nice. Staff is eager to help.
A mirror in the room would be great (but as I said, there is a bathroom just across the hall). Please be aware that staying in the city center may be noisy - I didn't mind, but I know some people may. During my stay I haven't met anyone from the staff who speaks English, but they were still eager to communicate and help. I found it easier to ask about Bilbao at Tourist Info (near railway station).
If you get a room overlooking the square - you're lucky. You can just sit on the balcony on the chair, sipping wine, beer or another favorite drink of yours and behold. after that you can take a walk around the beautiful city, cause the pension located in the heart of it. there are many ravishing places you have to visit but it is a completely different story...
benefits and price prevail over any shortcomings I even did not notice
Very central location and value for money
Nice room. Very airy. Super location
Pillows were hard as a rock . Street noise but balcony closed off most of the noise
The location was excellent and the owners were lovely.
I was on the plaza side so it was quite noisy outside, especially at night. And the church bells rang about every 30 minutes. The wifi dropped out for long periods, an inconvenience as I needed to get some work done. But otherwise simple but sweet.
We got sent to the Jardines Hotel which we wanted to avoid. It was ok, but it was not what we booked !
Good value and great location.
Very clean, great location, very friendly staff. Recommended
Staff helpful. Great location in old town. Inexpensive.
We were offered an internal room with double bed and ensuite. We took this option as we had booked on the understanding that it had ensuite. The bed was only a king sized single and therefore very uncomfortable for 3 nights. The other option was an outer room with balcony but no ensuite. It is not advertised accurately.
Right by the cathedral.
WiFi did not work.
