Counter to our experience with Zumardi, payment for the room was taken from our account the day after we booked, a month prior to our stay. As a precaution we took the credit card statement with us. On checkout the receptionist insisted that we had not paid, in spite of us showing her the credit card statement. We gently persevered. Eventually she looked again in the desk draw and found proof of our payment. She apologised. This process took some time. We found it unsettling and thinking perhaps we had been subject to an internet scam, were close to paying again. We were left wondering about the efficiency of Zumardi's payment systems, why they took payment so soon after booking, and what would have happened had we tried to cancel our booking.
We have stayed on a number of occasions, and always had a good experience - friendly staff, comfortable room, good value for money.
