The Casón del Tormes is in a tranquil area in the heart of Madrid, between Plaza de España and the Royal Palace. Its spacious rooms let in plenty of natural light.

Score from 1347 reviews Very good
The hotel's central location within walking distance of most major attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a casual, relaxed atmosphere. My room, although basic, provided everything required for a very reasonable price.
The location was excellent
The room was very simple and the beds were too hard
Location, atmosphere, breakfast.
A little noisy at night with windows open due to local bars etc. problem solved by closing the windows
Superb location within walking distance of all major attractions with many excellent bars and restaurants just a short walk away. Staff very friendly.
Very small bedroom with very small shower room and no view. Breakfast adequate.
This was my second stay at this hostal and I would stay here again. It has an excellent location with a super friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is substantial and will help get you through the day. You have everything you need in Madrid right out your doorstep with an intimate atmosphere!
Very close to the main city square and metro station, just a 20 minute walk from Atocha Main Railway station and all the musems like Prado, Princess Sofia etc. A decent breakfast for such a price (80 eur for two per night), shower gel/hand soap/toothbrush glasses included.
It was cold that night, but no blankets in the suite - maybe because it was early autumn and before that it was rather cold? The walls are very thin, we heard two elderly ladies speaking very clear, and the same story with the outside street noise, but happily everything was quiet by midnight. Nevertheless, it's a pretty good deal for a sleepover in Madrid or even an option to stay there for a week, if you are short of money.
Quiet Reasonably priced Clean and tidy
Very near to attractions.
Too small and dark rooms.
The staff were very helpful, an equal walk in all directions to different sites, and just a 5 to 10 Minute walk from SOL metro.
could be noisy from other guests
Great breakfast, excellent location
Plaza del Ángel somewhat noisy
Persal is actually a 2* hostel, as written on the main entrance, not a 3*, as presented on booking.com. Extremely small rooms (max 12mp including bathroom!), paper thin walls, small bed. Modest breakfast. Very expensive for what it has to offer. Do not recommend it!
Very clean and sympathic hotel near Sol. Easy access to metro and trains in city centre. No traffic noise.
The view from window was only the back wall of other building, so it was better to close curtains.
Super friendly staff, very tidy & perfect location
Poor WiFi connectivity in some areas of the hostel
Great location for a visit to madrid.central for everything.historic.resturants.tapas..friendly helpful staff..nice restaurant joined to persal gingers...great price...would defo stay here again...downside madrid in general is expensive compared to other locations...but there are value places ..to eat n drink...if you look around
Some local bars ripping off tourists...jazz bar ..500 yds from persal .1 small beer 1 coke ...m10 euros........ask first....
excellent location, good breakfast
noisy (no soundproof window)
All was exellent!
Location free wi-fi
The location is excellent. You can get to almost sights by foot. It takes max 10 minutes! Good staff and rooms!
The location was fabulous, within easy walking distance of major tourist attractions.
The beds were not the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. Breakfast, which we did as an add on, was nice but on the expensive side compared to prices in nearby restaurants.
Room overlooking Plaza with balcony. Enjoyed breakfast. Reception staff very helpful. Had an enjoyable, very reasonably priced lunch at Hostal Ginger
The room key was a challenge!
Central , excellent, connected place to attractive areas
No space , poor break fast , no boiler
It is just in the plaza and close to every square. Equipment is nice.
Stuff sometimes are cool..
Cool style. Right in the center of Madrid. The hotel has a very good restaurant in front of the hotel.
Great hotel in a great location.
I stayed 5 nights, my first time at this hostel, it came well -recommended by friends and I will go back and stay there again. This hostel had the comfort and coziness of a hotel. The staff were always courteous and helpful. Great wifi connection. Perfect location -I walked to all the museums and tourist areas. restaurants all around. the hostel also runs a great restaurant, Ginger, and is right next to one of the best jazz places in Madrid, Cafe Central.
Unfortunately, my room was near a couple who were "busy", very loudly, everyday. I chose not to complain but after 3 nights of no sleep, I did say something to concierge. Staff did address the problem and the couple did get quieter. ... My only wish, that eggs were served for breakfast.
