Hotel Peruskenea  

Previous reviews have marked this hotel highly so thats the reason I chose to stay there. It is well signposted off the main road which is just as well as the hotel is set in the beautifully wooded hills of the Pyrenees foothills.this gives it very tranquil setting. The rooms are very nice rustic decor, matching the rest of the hotel( more of a large guesthouse really). The two large solar panels indicate an environmentally run establishment which is encouraging for sustainability and a large kitchen garden suggests a lot of home grown produce is used when in season.

Despite the large solar panels sufficient to provide for a small town there was no hot water available for a shower before dinner. This only marginally improved by the following morning. Other guests complained about this but it wasn't resolved. The napkins in the restaurant smell of stale urine which really didn't help my appetite. If you suffer from hypertension be sure to ask for your meal not to be salted! I've stayed in much better for half the price can't really understand why it is marked so highly on my experience. Regrettably I won't be back.

The reception declined admission 10 minutes before the advertised time even though there were no other guests or activity going on. Left out in pouring rain we went to the local village for lunch and warmth. Return after one and a half hours again to be kept waiting until the sole member of staff/cook/proprietor appeared reluctant to greet us and eventually showed us to a room which, although containing virtually every item necessary to equip a hotel room, could scarcely be accommodated. The very small room was barely accessible for two people.The room was cold, the walls dingy and we decided to curtail the visit and thanks to Booking.com staff were able to do so without hassle.While telephoning Booking.com to raise the matter of cancellation we found a lizard on the floor. \the proprietor said he could not vary the agreement without approval of Booking.com. whose staff were excellent in supporting us. The room remained cold without any obvious heating and in the morning there was no water even for a shower.

La comodidad de la cama, tanto del colchón, como las sabanas y almohadas. Igualmente, la cena que se realizó en el hotel tambien gusto al cliente por el sabor, la presentación y calidad de aceite y orujos. Por otro lado, la habitación tenía detalles como bomba de baño, sales, tes y cafes. Al cliente le gustó el precio de oferta, 50 euros ya que el hotel no se corresponde con el precio real, 100 euros por noche.

Lo que no gustó nada fue que no había agua caliente en el hotel, sospechando que no se había encendido la caldera, al no tener más habitaciones ocupadas y se esperó a que el sol, que no había, calentara las placas solares. Sobre las 13:00 horas el agua se empezó solo a templar, pero no se pudo bañar al bebe que acompañaba al cliente, el cual se tuvo que duchar a las 11:00 con agua fria. Por otro lado, el unico personal del hotel era el que parecia ser el propietario, correcto en el trato, pero parco en palabras, ni siquiera informó de que no había agua. Cuando el cliente llegó cargado con maletas, bebe y carrito, no ofreció su ayuda para cargar con algún bulto.
