worst bed I've ever seen room is really dirty weak breakfast
Room is narrow
The hotel has got great location - just few minutes walk to Placa Catalunya, La Rambla and several metro stations. Great breakfast buffet!
The hotel could have been a bit cleaner and really 4-star standard... Family room in the yard that was busy in the evenings due to school sport classes or weekend party...
Good location,clean rooms, good staff
Poor WiFi ,bed for kids not safe ...
The hotel is very modern. The family room we had was a good size. Staff at reception were friendly.
Our room had a bedroom that was only separated from the living area by a sheer curtain. As we had our daughter on a sofa bed in the living room we would have preferred a more substantial divide. There are no kitchen facilities.
Proximity to centre of city and public transport.
The room at the front was very noisy.
Tom at Reception. Great location.
Beds - double bed was more like a large single and certainly too small for 2 grown adults. Pull out sofa bed for our 14 year old daughter was way too short. She is 1:60 and her legs dangled over the end. Mattresses also very hard on both beds. Not good. Breakfast was pretty poor too. Coffee out of a self service machine. Tired looking buffet.
Breakfast was awesome, with different kind of ham, cheese, bread, and fresh fruits. Receptionists were friendly. A chair in the room was cool.
Bathroom was disappointing. Disgusting smell was coming from the drain all the time as the drain stopper was missing. Moldy shower head was awful. Mold was also found in the corner of bathtub. Ants were not supposed to be in the bathroom.
Great location, clean and stylish
Beds where a little hard.
Good location for Las rambles next to lovely coffee shop.
The hotel reception was very modern and clean. The hotel room was larger than expected but quite dated with a lot of dust on the walls! Breakfast was ok. If modernised it would be a lovely place but a bit pricey for what u got
Good location, 10 minute walk to Plaza Catalunya, 5 minute walk to metro Passeig de Gracia and a lot of traditional restaurants in the area.
Location was ideal to get to las ramblas. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful.
Corridors in hotel are very dark. While cleanliness of bathroom was very good the bedroom could have been a little better especially headboard which was very dusty
Value for money Staff was OK
Hard bed Staff not interested Bed was hard Didn't look like it did on pictures
Location, staff, high tech
The family room was kind of small crowded
Good central location for exploring the city. Family room was a good size with kids tucked away round the corner, location is perfect, good value for money.
Dark corridors, if I had been staying as a business trip those dark hallways would have freaked me out
Easy to find and really close to Placa Catalunya, gothic quarter and Ramblas. easy walking distance to Familia sagrada. Room clean and modern, laptop came in handy, lovely restaurant next door and breakfast/coffee etc next door to that. Staff very helpful and late checkout time was great. Left luggage after checkout in secure room and went for a final wander around. would definitely stay there again.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good central location.
Room was not designed well. No access to one side of the double bed. Bathroom door did not close properly.
Large rooms Great location Quiet I was there for over a week and the hotel was fine but quite expensive; tired, needs refurbishing to maintain a 4 star status. I will try another hotel on my next visit.
Not up to what I would expect for 4 stars ... Service not consistent I.e. Only one towel; put out 'clean room' sign and room not cleaned 6 hours later after I returned; Some deferred maintenance; overcharged on minibar; and laptop old with no longer supported Windows 98.
nice location - great staff
the beds were too hard rather noisy due to other people
The staff and the location were excellent
The hard mattresses and the moving twin beds were very uncomfortable for a couple.
We finished our summer holidays with a 3 night whirlwind tour of Barcelona - which was far too sort in fairness! Our family room at the Petit Palace was lovely and big. The master bed was huge, and the kids had a bunk bed that was in an alcove. The hotel was very clean, had a power-shower in the room and free WiFi - as most do these days. The room backed onto a series of courtyards, one of which was a preschool, another was a youth hostel or similar. Both of these made a bit of noise in the morning but nothing to complain about - why would you sleep the day away in a city like Barcelona??? We found the hotel was perfectly located two blocks away from La Ramblas - not too far to walk and far enough to avoid the bustle of the city at night. Metro and bus stations are nearby and a busy taxi rank is just outside the hotel. We can't comment on the hotel restaurant as we didn't eat there. That was only because we had too little time and Barcelona offers too many choices, one of which was a fantastic café just beside the hotel, Alsur Café, which we have also reviewed. The biggest selling point to us at this hotel are the staff. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. From assistance to the room with our bags to adding extra connections to our WiFi allowance to offering advice they really couldn't have done more. The thing that really capped the stay at the Petit Palace was actually after we had gone. My daughter left her handbag - with every electrical device she owned, plus the last of her holiday money - in the back of the taxi when we got out at the airport. In desperation I called the Petit Palace, and they managed to not only contact the taxi company - who we hailed from a rank - but identify the car and get the handbag delivered back to us at the airport. That was service well over and above the call of duty. There are so many things that we have to go back to Barcelona to see and do.
The hotel has no proper bar facilities, but the café next door was open late and more than suited our moderate needs.
Beds were comfy.
Booked a family room, but the kids were on a double sofa bed so didn't sleep well. I expected 2 single beds for them. Zero facilities at the hotel.
