Score from 614 reviews Excellent
Excellent location with easy walking distance to all modes of transport. Hotel is clean and staff are very friendly.
Very noisy at night, but this can be expected due to the location.
The location to this hotel is it's selling feature, just off La Rambla's about half way down. The room was clean, a nice size and the added feature of a terrace overlooking the courtyard. This hotel has so much potential, to be a great hotel.
The bed was very uncomfortable, there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room, and overall the hotel was just a bit tatty. I would like to think that, this is to change, as they were having some of the hotel re decorated, but I fear it will still be tatty. Like I said in the good part, so much potential to be great.
Location great! Service great. Staff helpful. Overall would stay again.
Bedding not that comfortable.
Comfortable, clean, spacious room, helpful staff, GREAT location.
Slow wifi connection
The location was great
The standard of the room was poor the shower ceiling was mouldy, the beds and pillows were rock hard and the wifi patchy. Overall this hotel is tired and could use a facelift
The location of the hotel was very good. It was easy to walk everywhere and it's so close to the metro station.
The inside of the hotel was very bad. So old and smells awful. It needs to be redecorated. Except coffee breakfast was bad.
The rooms are very comfortable, bathroom spacious, Tv programming had good variety.
Mattress was very firm & uncomfortable & the fragrance at the registration desk was too strong
Hotel location is excellent for the Ramblas being situated just a few metres down a typical calle of the gothic area which in itself is an area of Barcelona well worth exploring. The hotel caters for people with eating or diet disorders and the gluten free selection at breakfast was excellent, served by a very attentive member of staff who gave 110 percent service. Reception staff were very good and directed us to the various museums in the general locality. Barcelona is a great city even out of season. We went mid December, the presentations were excellent, the museums good and the people great!
The lap top in the room did not work probably because of misuse by previous guests (looked like it had had very heavy use). The wifi in the public areas was very slow but hey, this is Barcelona, get out and enjoy!!!!.
staff were friendly and helpful especially and Fillip The staff all had good spoken English. Location good.
Advertised room too small for a couple needed to change on first night. showers much too complicated & hard to use very silly choice for hotel guests. Door entry system inconsistent cards wouldn't work had to change ours twice. Beds really uncomfortable felt like mattress was really old and lumpy. No drawer space for cloths not enough wardrobe room for a couple. Mini bar fridge did not work wasn't attended to until day we left. Needed to ask for the room to be cleaned on two occasions when we returned late in the day it hadn't been cleaned. hotel standard inclusions like kettle and irons not in rooms? As seasoned travellers, this hotel was 2-3 stars only but charged as a 4 star rate. Disappointing standard of facility. Will not recommend or return. Only good thing to say about this hotel is your staff are well trained, helpful and friendly.
good location nice size room comfy bed. Breakfast good choice excellent service from the staff.
Everything was amazing, location was perfect. Would defiantly recommend it to everyone!
Located just off Ramlas, this is a lovely contemporary style hotel in the heart of the city. Lovely bedroom and bathroom, balcony located over a bustling side street but there was no noise if the doors were closed. Nice courtyard area for drinks.
Breakfast was okay and the breakfast room is not very inviting but would still recommend the hotel!
the bed--toilet didn't work
The location, bathroom, breakfast
The Bedroom! The bed arrangement was pathetic: two small light bases with mattresses that were wider than the bases so that the bed has no support in the middle. No good for happy couples!!! Lighting too harsh. Bedroom had no soul, was small & no outlook.
Location, interior décor, smell
uneven beds, frosted glass bathroom door which let all the light in
Great location. The front desk staff where very helpful and answered all our questions with a smile.
Mold around edge of bathtub.
only near to the walk area in ramblas road
1-No car park 2-car can't enter to the hotel to off load the bags. 3- no luggage service. 4-very bad attitude and not professional staff in front office. 5-bed is very bad and not comfortable . 6-pillow was very old and very slim 7-no tea & coffee in the room 8- toilet door without lock. 9- not clean and old .
Reception staff very helpful Location was great Our family room was superb with lovely bathroom facilities Nice bar area
Electronic key never worked. Had to go down to reception Faulty Electronic shower Strutural defect in floor(unsupported flooring) near terrace door. The rooms were never made up till afternoon when we were returning to rest.Refurbishment needed with good not cheap design.
Good Location Good Breakfast Nice courtyard for an evening drink Friendly and helpful staff
The power shower was not very good
Location great. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Breakfast was not really a 4 star standard. There was no full length mirror in the room, the basin in the bathroom was rather uncomfortable and no shelf in the shower to put a bottle of shower gel!!
Ok on the positive side I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a buffet style which as buffet goes I thought was good for a 4 star hotel. Rooms were serviced on a daily basis and were kept clean. The internet was great in the rooms.
Dissapointed they catered for breakfast for a four star hotel i would have thought they would do more. There was no snacks either. I booked a double room for single use and thought the room was quite small. I thought the check in of 3pm was very late most people tend to arrive before that although they will hold your bags for you.
The location was exactly what we thought by being on a pedestrian street, but immediately off of Las Ramblas and next to a subway station. This is in a big city and with the late hours of the Spanish this was on par with noise in both Madrid and Logrono. The hotel included a lap top for our use. Plenty of things to do in close proximity. Does provide quiet outdoor space (but see negative comments).
The hotel has been well loved and is reaching the point for a fresh coat of paint, repairs in the main areas, and a less somber feeling. It is also time for them to invest in new towels and sheets that are a little less used and less stained. While I liked the outdoor space, the seating appeared to be for the bar/restaurant and not for the actual guests like the online photos would indicate. In the garden there was few seats but underneath a shedding tree. Our shower clearly did not match the one in the photos and we had a door that did not close correctly for the steam/shower, the directions did not match how we had to turn it on, the only part that worked had such low pressure, out of seven hotels in Spain, this was by far the most awkward and unrewarding shower, even after we had it fixed (still did not really work). We did not have the breakfast since there were plenty of options available, but we sure got to hear the clanging of dishes and the outside diners at 7:45 a.m. Overall I was just underwhelmed by this hotel and did not think the value of my euro was well spent at this hotel.
We booked last minute because we landed in Barcelona with no accommodation booked. After looking for a while at many hotels, we realized that this was a busy weekend in the city. For one night, we decided to get a good night's sleep before exploring more economical options. This is where we decided that Petit Palace Opera Garden looked like a good location and hotel from what we had read online. I must point out however that upon check in, we informed the hotel that we would extend our stay to 5 nights (as opposed to one) if they would offer us a better rate for all 5 nights. This was refused but understandable, if they could sell out at a higher rate. The rooms are small but have everything you need. The location is great if you want to be in a touristy area (Las Ramblas and Barceloneta can both be walked to easily). There is no such view per say because the hotel is tucked away in an alleyway. We noticed there are a part of a chain knows as "HighTech Hoteles" (with which we weren't familiar before) as this was written on their towers. To be honest though, there was nothing that extraordinarily high tech about this hotel. You use your credit card for the safe (free of charge) but that's the only technological thing I noticed in the room! The staff are friendly and overall very helpful. Booking thought booking.com will provide you with the option to use the 2 bikes they have in the lobby whenever they are not being used by other guests which a nice little bonus.
friendly staff, location(10 mtrs from las ramblas), good breakfast choice
Hard beds--- my only complaint of this hotel
